  1. Millenium Flyer trains would be an improvement, however I feel like a retrack would be a better alternative. Blue side needs it bad
  2. Ever been on a great ride or have been to a park you really liked but have some nitpicks? Well discuss them here! I thought it would have been cool to make the tombstones near the pretzel on Banshee bigger to add a near miss element to the ride experience. Also Alpengeist being only 5ft short of 200ft which irritates me for some reason
  3. I know its not in the states but Canada's Wonderland is getting a dive for 2019. Cedar Fair has been the only major company in the US that's been buying from them in the more recent years. You'll see them return if that proposed hyper from CGA ever becomes set and stone and maybe for a project at KI or WoF.
  4. I want to see the park move to smaller thrill and family rides. If Kings Isand had the flat ride roster of Canada's Wonderland, the park would be unbelivable. In addition, rides like antique cars, and possibly a ferris wheel would be a nice addition for grandparents to ride with their grandchildren.
  5. This has turned into an Intamin topic and its really taking away from the actual thread. A lot of speculation for a giga comes from fact and background information. Fact-Cedar Fair has favored B&M over Intamin for new rides for the past couple of years and are currently exploring other companies like GCI, RMC, and Gerstlauer. Fact- Cedar Fair has had many issues with late Intamin rides in contrast to rides from other companies. If many recall the Green Intamin track troll during the Decoding 2014 construction topic which ultimately lead to nowhere and didn't really contribute to the discussion. Heck I want a B&M dive but I know that's most likly not gonna in the near future. No member can disclose whether the next coaster will be a B&M, RMC, Mack, Gerstlauer, or even Intamin, however we can make logical predictions based on past actions and events. Everyone likes what they like but the direction this thread is going is getting a little frustrating.
  6. That's for a reason. B&M is very cautious about its coasters, even hesitating and decling when asked to build new ones on occasion. The company wants to be known for reliability and uptime, not first tries and malfunctions. Sure Intamin isn't afraid to try new things but that can lead in a lot of downtime. Even Mack sticks to roughly the same concept and mechanics for most of its coasters.
  7. If they're planning on keeping the building, an in-and-out dark ride similar to Wonder Mountain's Guardian would be a good fit. Whether or not the park wants to overhaul a nearly 2 decade old building is another story. Compact dark rides are fun but operation costs are always a huge reason not to invest in them.
  8. Kings Island has the 4th tallest Eiffel Tower in the world- I believe KD has a taller antenna
  9. X-Base or even Action Zone would work. KI kinda needs at least one coaster with a 90° drop. Even though I love them, the one issue I have with dive coasters is that they all have a very similar layout. Hopefully Canada's Wonderland will deliver something different.
  10. Sheikra was around $13.5 mil in 2005 which is around $17 mil in today's currency. Thunderbird cost HW $22 mil so I think they could easily afford a dive coaster in the future. Dives are tall, thrilling, compact, and are huge crowd pleasers. I'm honestly suprised more US parks haven't installed them yet.
  11. If you guys know me then you know that I'd love a dive coaster at KI. I know its not likely in the coming years, especially with speculation of a giga, but its just a dream of mine. I'm actually kinda shocked that there hasn't been talk of Kentucky Kingdom or Holiday World looking into dive coasters as both parks could benefit from having them.
  12. Wait so are we using this thread instead of the other two @chugh43 listed?
  13. No one's yelling at you @LoadAndGo. Everyone's welcome on this site unless you're a troll who has nothing to contribute. This is merely a speculation thread
  14. Records are meant to be broken but some of them are just "ridiculous." What are some of your ridiculous records? This all meant in good fun so be creative. Some records may surprise you Diamondback is the tallest coaster in the world to feature a splashdown Diamondback is the tallest snake themed coaster in the world The state of Ohio has the biggest collection of coasters over 200ft and 300ft Etc
  15. A couple of speculative questions while its still early Assuming it is indeed a Dive Coaster: Will it break 200ft or will it be one of those smaller Dive Coasters? Will it interact with Wonder Mountain? How many inversions might it have?
  16. Back to the discussion Breaking 200ft is becoming the new norm in the coaster world to the point where it doesn't even seem like a big deal anymore. Its more about diversity among the coaster world than anything. It's common to see B&M build a hyper that exceeds well over 200ft, but its rare to see wooden coasters hit that peak in this day and age. Even though they're not uncommon, gigas are pretty rare in the coaster world so it would be a privilege to have one at Kings Island.
  17. ^ Good to see someone's taken from Sonofbaconator's Speculation Series- beat something to a pulp until it gets old and dull then reinvent it years later
  18. I don't think its a competition like people think it is. Cedar Point has to keep getting new coasters every year or so to attract more crowds where KI doesn't. But now that CP has an awesome Dive Machine and a great Hybrid coming up, I don't think a KI giga will hurt them at all.
  19. ^I love the logo as well and name change is indifferent to me. I'm not sure if KD fans like the name change or not
  20. I'd say 20. Give MT another year to shine then start the construction/prep during the 2019 season. However depending on location, prep work might start earlier similar to Canada's Wonderland.
  21. Yeah I get the whole Confederate thing but I still think its a bit much. Maybe KD had some bad PR from it in years past or something
  22. I understand that, 100%. But has to be a reason why Cedar Fair hasn't gotten a new Intamin for over 8 years as opposed to other manufacturers. Heck Gerstlauer has came back to the chain
  23. That makes two of us. However I think its odd that they'd essentially rename Rebel Yell to Racer 75 when, imo, Rebel Yell was a more original name.
  24. While that is true, it's not a coincidence that a lot of deaths or injuries at amusement parks have been from Intamins. There are still countless times when a ride has malfunctioned due to manufacturing i.e. cable snaps, faulty lift hills, need for retracking etc. I'm not saying B&M is perfect but they're way safer and reliable than Intamin.
