Ironically the best theming came from the Taft era. Don't get me wrong Paramount did great theming too but Taft made it fit. Taft did Adventure Express and Phantom Theater after all.
This isn't an improvement just a nitpick. Banshee is one of my favorite coasters in the world and I wouldn't change the layout at all. However a part of me wishes it was 200ft tall. I know the elements would have to have been made bigger to accommodate the increased height and speed but I guess I always envisioned Kings Island having multiple coasters that exceed 200ft. But hey, second tallest in the park ain't bad either.
I'm wondering if Mystic Timbers will be part of Ouimet's "Amusement Dark" initiative that he's been pushing. He talked about dark rides telling stories about mysteries that are present in each park. I'm also curious to see if Triotech has any involvement in the shed since there is clearly going to be some type of changing animation. If that's so, wouldn't that knock out KI for getting a triotech ride in the future?
More on the triotech rumor

"Cedar Fair rival Six Flags, long known for its themeless steel parks"- Best statement I've ever read
Would it be wrong to assume that parks like Valley Fair, Dorney Park, or even Michigan's Adventure would receive hand-me-down rides from other, bigger Cedar Fair parks looking to expand in the future?
More than likely a light.
This is what a traditional lumber mill looks like. Notice the train tracks

I honestly think they'd only get rid of a ride if something was immediately going to replace it within the next year or so. I don't know what they would fit in the Congo falls space
If Banshee and Mystic Timbers are any indication of how coasters and theme can coexist then we're in for a treat. However, I feel like a lot of the coasters' theming was decided by the park as opposed to the Cedar Fair company. The theming just seems more KI than it does Cedar Fair. That being said I don't know if other Cedar Fair parks will follow suit. Each park is different after all.
I wouldn't doubt it because B&M does call them hyper coasters. However, Carowinds calls fury a giga and I'm assuming Wonderland does the same for Leviathan.
I always associated hypers as airtime machines 200+ feet. Though dives can reach over 200ft, they offer different elements and have little to no airtime
I never did either. I'm assuming that a complete circuit coaster counts because the lift/launch is different than the drop where shuttle coasters lift/launch and drop on the same stretch of track. If that makes sense.
Been browsing through the forums and found this thread in with some mothballs. Arguably our best themed coasters are (in no particular order)
Mystic Timbers
Flight of Fear
Banshee
Adventure Express
Backlot Stunt Coaster
I'm not hating on coasters such as The Bat, Diamondback, or even The Beast but the coasters I've listed above have incorporated some type of theming into the ride experience. In all honesty its hard to chose the best themed ride so I'll let you decide.
