  1. I pretty much feel that way about any show in there. It may have been a great venue when it first debuted, but I’ve never seen anything in there that really got the attention it deserved. It’s an odd mix that doesn’t quite work in a theme park the same way it does at s “dinner theatre”. Maybe if it was something like the ice skating type shows that extended further out into the main room, but that would cut down on dining space. I just don’t think a “scripted” show works in there.
  2. Yeah- I’ll be pretty bummed if that foam head, click track show comes back again this year after we’ve had a real show in there. The Charlie Brown show is cute, but definitely more fit for FestHaus or International Showplace (where it would be right next to Planet Snoopy)
  3. There’s no reason they couldn’t flip that set between haunt and Winterfest. Neither one are super complicated (unless PLEASE PLEASE-we are getting a new show of the caliber of Knotts this year in that space.) and the lobby display could already be removed-nice but not needed for an extended run.
  4. If only they had a well developed, spooky, funny, family friendly, Halloween appropriate show that took advantage of the capabilities of that space, and that people would line up for. Nah-there’s no way they could ever come up with that…cough cough…phantom theatre… cough cough.
  5. They aren’t doing a haunt show in KIT unless I’m missing something-it would be great if they did!
  6. He is still a big part of the history. I still wish the “kid” in off the rails had been named Gary. Would’ve been a subtle nod to a “dreamer who put his all into doing amazing things” without being too obvious.
  7. That is a nice touch on the non firework nights. Honestly that song so perfectly sums up the park that I wish they’d record it with a few tweaks (no 50) and use it all the time for in park, and external marketing.
  8. I let’s give it a day or two THEN decide if the sky is falling or not.
  9. There are a lot of subtle things in this like FUN (Cedar Fair) and Ive tried to figure out a company with CCC possibly in California - I've seen "some sign" here for a while, but for some weird reason was really drawn to look closely at it today. If like others have said it was installed in 2020 (after copperhead strike opened) and was part of that teaser campaign for Copperhead - it's even more telling that when you look at the list that says, They create Sheds (mystic) Seaside Boardwalks (CP Boardwalk) Camping Complexes (Camp Cedar) Midcourse Brake Runs (any recent coaster with them - like Beast), and corn cribs (Copperhead Strike?) - everything BUT the Topspin Structure has come to pass. Maybe this was a derailed teaser campaign for something in the old TRTR that pandemic years stalled. May be nothing, but fun speculation around an old (or new) sign.
  10. I feel like there’s some bad blood in there someplace. I agree it’s odd that they weren’t mentioned that much.
  11. Yes. Non working. They need to take a lesson from Dollywood with their “Ned Oakley” hotline.
  12. Hmmmmm projects in NC and SC? Topspin buildings??? Immersive experiences?
  13. Anyone know how long this has been around? Interesting that this kinda hints at Beast related things. CAREFULLY read the copy ESPECIALLY the part about projects in NC AND SC that show the direction of the company (meaning this can’t be that old since it seems to reference comments they have made about the new project at Carrowinds catering to all 5 senses. And hmmmmm what’s that part about TOPSPIN STRUCTURES???? 2023 might be an “off” year, but methinks some wheels are turning for down the road
  14. In that location!
  15. Not sure how much “in house” totally drove the development of those shoes. The corporate director of live entertainment was the one always talking about all of the entertainment, and I believe the director of live entertainment for Knotts actually wrote PTE. I think it was awesome that they were very site specific, but I don’t think they were fully developed in house.
  16. I actually hope they DONT return it next year. I love the “elusive lightning in a bottle” aspects of things like this. Next year I want sone SMURFS darnIT!!!!!
  17. Good thing they don’t ONLY market to you, and they have a lot of other customer profiles to pull from. Like you said-to each their own, but to imply the park is loosing total OVERALL revenue because you are pulling out isn’t maybe grasping their overall strategy.
  18. Remember- the current regime didn’t mess it up with removal-they messed up by missing the 10 year “refresh mark” and not bringing it back LOL.
  19. Hmmm I was there and didn't see or feel any. I don't think it was needed TBH and I think at this point its piling more icing on a pretty darn good cake.
  20. Agree on the AdLibbing. You could tell the cast was in thew home stretch at yesterdays 5pm. Lots of mugging, ad-libbing and ribbing back and forth with the audience AND each other. Having seem the show quite a bit this season it was so cool to see the "real human" aspect of the cast.
  21. It was SO COOL to see the house PACKED yesterday at 5 for Phantom. I had to sit extreme house left - front row since I was running there form the 4:30 Off the Rails (where I ALSO had to sit house left - shows were ROCKING on a packed day yesterday) I'm SO impressed that people seem to be appreciating the effort that went into this this year - give me more of this and I'll take a year or two (or three) off the CapEx train. This park has had a more well-rounded, full family slate of offerings this year than any I remember since the early years.
  22. The show seemed spot on tonight. Maybe the best I’ve seen it look (but no snow -what a tease!)
  23. FFF Continues on nights of 10 pm closes through Labor Day weekend (Sunday) daily showings end this weekend as daily 10 pm closes end.
  24. The new area at Carrowinds seems to be exactly the type of attention that KI should get with Rivertown and Oktoberfest. Both of these areas are perfect opportunities for them to develop along the strategy lines that CF seems to be pursuing: Carowinds Vice President & General Manager Manny Gonzalez said, “Guests can look forward to in Aeronautica is a new way to experience this property from food to the attractions and the theming of the celebration of flying. Guests will be immersed into this new experience.” Gonzalez goes on to say that “The Company has been focused on looking at the areas of the park that we are able to develop a comprehensive way to hit our five senses, as we invest and bring in new excitements… that is what I’m most excited about.” Those two areas seem perfect for the "5 senses" approach. I personally wouldn't care if we got another "major coaster" for another 8-10 years if they had used the 50th as a time to launch a 4-6 year long range plan to "bring back classic thrills and themes, while introducing exciting new and thrilling experiences (flat ride and maybe smaller coaster) as we look to the past to set a course for the future of Kings Island". Then as the core areas (An enlarged and totally themed Oktoberfest, and a revamped and integrated Rivertown, Camp Snoopy, and River City Water Works) come to completion, announce a complete re-work of Old Coney to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the park with a massive new coaster Big Red Machine taking the back area (WindSeeker - Vortex) that completes the "revisioning" of the park.
  25. That’s hilarious! I really think we may be seeing a “version” of shows like this going forward. Seems like WAY too much money in the way of infrastructure added for just a summer run - especially when they are still adding equipment a few weeks before it ends (and only a few days before it goes into weekend only showings) I’d LOVE to see a Winterfest “closing” show, but I think it would be hard with skating unless they did it at the last shift change, but that might be too close to the parade.
