  1. I bet this replaces Enterprise.
  2. lol apparently not everyone understands that saying. Back in 2014 when Lightning Run opened and it was "unstable" when the track shook back and forth on the airtime/ banked turn part.
  3. Technically, the Mondial one doesn't swing faster, it just has a tighter arc resulting in more intensity. But I know it cannot match the KI version in raw power which, at max swing, goes 70MPH.
  4. If you all want a good drive thru Christmas light show, look no farther than Mega-Caverns Louisville
  5. I wonder if we are going to get a midnight announcement tonight? That's kind of their thing, right?
  6. The hinted at a Thrill ride as well. At least from their post, it seems as though spending will not go down to virtually nothing just yet.
  7. I've seen it stop before it usually gets brought down quickly
  8. Theoretically, The Beast could last as long as Kings Island does. It just comes down to " do we want to replace this lumber?" Wooden coasters have that luxury.
  9. While not technically a rollercoaster, all of the ProSlide Hydromagnetic Rockets enter each launch while moving also.
  10. Maybe it's because I'm young, but I don't get this whole bridge thing being a big deal. I'd much rather walk that bridge a few times vs walking to and from Thunderbird one time. On that path you have steep elevation changes along with a considerable distance.
  11. ^ Infinity coaster confirmed. (Only kidding)
  12. I honestly hope they do something with the old drag strip this off season. Even something as simple as cleaning it out for future expansion.
  13. I like the wording he used. While improvements for 2017 have not been disclosed Hart said that new FEATURES will be added each year indefinitely. It's not fair to expect a new ride each year from a small park but I wonder what he's got up his sleeve.
  14. Where was The Joker (RMC) or Wildfire? Both of those seem like they should be contenders for that spot.
  15. KK's Facebook just posted that "The Golden Ticket awards are presented annually to honor the "Best of the Best" in the amusement industry. We are THRILLED to announce that Kentucky Kingdom's Storm Chaser was ranked the #2 best New amusement park attraction of 2016!" Is there any credibility to this? I didn't watch the awards but I don't see how this is possible with all of the additions this year. Seems like another Indy Star article claiming KK the best amusement park.
  16. There was a severe thunderstorm warning. Generally speaking all rides in any park will close for that. I remember being in line for Flight of Fear during a storm, at the beginning they were running it, but once the severe thunderstorm was issued the ride shut down.
  17. If it's a KK vs HW in my opinion, HW spanks KK's Water Coasters. However, I find that KK has a more relaxed lazy river vs HW as it seems fairly secluded with the bamboo that grows. Wikiwiki wai and Hyena falls do about that same amount of entertainment for me. HW has two family slides (watubee and Zoombabwae, think I spelled correctly) while KK has the Summit Plummit. Both offer proslide funnel slides in both the "cone" and "toilet bowl". KK has classic slide complex mt slide hai while HW has OttoRonGo. Both have the dump bucket playgrounds. Both have a smaller kids area though I'll give HW the win due to the size of theirs. HW has Jungle Racer while KK has no contest. KK has speed slide complex with the nations tallest body slide (and now due to the misfortune in Kansas the tallest operating slide in America) while HW has no contest. Both parks have 2 wave pools to boast. Attraction for attraction, KK isn't really outmatched, some could argue that these watermarks are all but even. Now as far as atmosphere of the park HW wins hands down and nothing will change that unless KK management changes how they deal with employees.
  18. Mammoth is large, that it has going for it, thrilling? No more than any other water slide. Wildebeest is far more thrilling I will admit to forgetting about them though as the last two times I went Wildebeest was down all day and Mammoth had intermittent down time.
  19. Honestly I don't get the rave that Holiday Worlds water park gets. As far as kids areas go they have clone playgrounds and what looks like a splash zone. Their lazy river is entirely in the sun with no seclusion, their newest attraction for Splashin Safari is the Hyena, which really isn't that great, the only thing Holiday Worlds waterpark has to offer that I haven't found anywhere else is the Zoombabwae.
  20. The KSF is garbage. I would not consider attending, even for free. As far as exhibits go it is exactly the same as it has been ever since I was alive. No one wants to pay to see the same things year after year. The midway? HA it's go so far downhill every year I've seen it recently. This year rides that were omitted that were there from previous years that I can think of Inveter, Super Loop, Zipper, Flipper (HUSS), ect. Why would I pay to rides things such as the Century Wheel which is almost laughable when a 150ft tall Giant Wheel looms over that entire midway. Why would I want to rides their "Musik Express" which as far as elevation changes go it offers maybe a bump. It is no Musik Express like the one I rode at Miracle Strip years ago. This carnival operator needs to put more effort in to making it fun, this year they actually put up inflatable obstacle courses vs rides on the back of the midway. Unless the Fair Board and everyone involved gets it together no one will ever be interested in going like they did 15-20 years ago.
  21. Whatever they want to call it makes no difference in its service life. It was only "new" in 2015 because it couldn't be fixed in time for 2014. Expensive parts on an old ride that is hard to work on has me worried.
  22. I fear Enterprise may be next on the chopping block.
  23. In the email I recieved today it also states that it is a new attraction, I don't think general park improvements such as a repaint or revitalization of anything pre existing counts as an attraction.
  24. Hmm. Hydraulic arm problems with a HUSS Enterprise. Sounds...familiar. Here's to hoping it sticks around a while longer.
  25. The tallest Ferris wheel in the US is larger than Top Thrill Dragster. I don't see them building that
