KI Huss Breakdance
Does anyone know which version of Breakdance CF bought? KK has a Breakdance No. 3 I believe which is slanted in every direction as opposed to a flat platform that is tilted. A Breakdance No. 2 could work at KI with its high capacity and higher speeds than other models. I will say after working the one at KK, they are kind of a pain to load/unload as you have to release each individual bar as opposed to a universal release button.

In Louisville, the neighborhoods with higher amounts of money are basically anything east of I-65. (St. Matthews, Hurstbourne, Springhurst, Anchorage, etc.)

Steel Vengeance to open in 2018 at Cedar Point
Perhaps, but LR is a different manufacturer with a different setup before the station. On SV the transfer area is after the station on LR the transfer area is used as the block behind the station. When it happened at KK it didn’t make the news but if you look at the front of the purple train you can tell it was reworked as the pointed part on the front is a completely different shade of purple than the rest of it.

It will likely run with 1 train until the brake area can be modified. Lightning Run had a similar incident to this when it was new. The original transfer area on that only had friction wheels which were not enough to fully stop the loaded train in pouring down rain. There are a few brakes in that area now.

The coaster building is now the 5D Theatre.

If it were my guess it’d be the layout. This is the biggest, baddest RMC and by going off the intensity of some of the smaller ones, this thing is sure to be wild. Maybe wanted a few extra inches of security.

So, who bought the 499$ passes.
I was assuming the total cost was $499. Is it actually $499+110= $609? If so then I probably won’t get.
-
So, who bought the 499$ passes.
Yes, but the regular pass is 110 equating to 2 visits ($50 gate fee + $20 parking). 4 visits without a pass including FLP would be ($50+$20+$85= $155) for a single day visit. $155x4= $620, that means 4 visits including FLP is worth it and even if you got the Kroger discount tickets for $30 or whatever they are it’s still 30+20+85 = 135x4 =$540 if you wanted to look at it as buying regular Gold then going for a FLP it would only be $450 for 4 visits so it would effectively take 5 visits to make every other option more expensive than the $500 pass.

Well Kings Island is much closer than CP. when I had my pass I went probably at least 10 times. The last two years I haven’t renewed and only gone once. But I would definitely be able to make it the 4 times it takes to make the FLP pass worth it if I were to go that route.

I’m seriously debating this. I’m in Louisville and trying to decide if I want to renew my regular ol gold pass, upgrade to platinum since I really want to go to Cedar Point but considering the distance, likely only once, or get the FLP season pass. Anyone have any input?

The Racer on Opening Day 2018
Doesn’t the Red one usually run better than Blue? At least that’s my perception. It also is usually the winner but for whatever reason the brake setting are different on both coasters causing the Blue one to fully return to the station first.

Kicked Out Of KI
Lol the sarcasm in me always wants to come out with a quick witted response such as “no, it is you who made them cry for ignoring posted safety information at the entrance” but we all know in the name of guest relations, those responses aren’t allowed
-
Kicked Out Of KI
My personal favorites are the ones that say “look, now you made them cry” like I made up the rules or designed the ride. All I can think is who would be the one crying if their kid got thrown out of a thrill ride. A few minutes is not worth a life!

Kicked Out Of KI
When their kids are 1/2” too short to ride and they try to argue “come on they’re close enough aren’t they?” No they are not sir or madame. Most don’t argue but there are some that get thrown out for not being respectful

What could 2018 bring KI
I’m not so sure, ours is not only fairly reliable, but it is in a not prime location backed into a corner.

Any news or pictures of the new Enterprise replacement whose name escapes me? Seems like the park would have released construction photos by now but so far, nothing

I could have probably gotten them down then, but I was on a skiing vacation in Colorado so I missed that window!

Park Nitpicks
^ I can relate. When I worked at KK, I got to hear every day 3 times a day in sequences of 3 so about 9 times. “Attention land lovers of Hurricane Bay, The Big Kahuna is about to begin! These waves will... Knock you off your feet! If you have children, of whom you’ve grown fond, move to higher ground! Weak swimmers should head for the beach, the Big kahuna is about to begin!” Of course this was the que for all of the weak swimmers to head for the deepest part of the wave pool to ensure the waves never lasted more than 15-20 seconds.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
I still have a few decorations outside. It seems like it’s either been freezing with ice and snow or warm with heavy rain. Can’t find a good day to get them down!

The Beast Roughness/jerking
Voyage was a very fun coaster when it first opened. Now unfortunately I think that trim break which grabs very hard kills all momentum. When it was new you just flew right on through!

Guests Say The Darnest Things
Not a guest per se, but at work we brought up Kings Island and somehow Son of Beast came up. I thought “oh here we go”, sure enough I wasn’t disappointed. “My friend was there the day of the accident actually driving the ride, she said that it got stuck on the loop and people fell out of their seats and died”. *Facepalm*. I’m 21 now and this guy is 1-2 years younger than me. The major accident that ride had was 2006. You do the math. When I said “so where exactly did you get that story from?” He quickly responds “the news!” I said “go ahead and find it cause that’s a bunch of bull”. He actually looked because he was convinced that was real, sure enough he couldn’t find anything remotely related to the events he described.
