  1. I did the math a while back, this is going to put the lift hill at around 150 foot. That falls into the range typically seen on inverts. If the lift hill is 45 degrees it could be around 200 feet tall. Thats true, but inverts usually seem to be around 35 degrees. Not saying it can't be 45, but it would be unusual.

  3. His page is: https://www.facebook.com/KingsIslandForever Really it just looks like he has some older pics, Pics of pieces of other coasters, screenshots from a show and some pics of the one piece of damaged green track. Nothing shows a closeup on the tag on the pieces, so theres no way to verify its what he claims. Probably on purpose.
  4. I think Wing Rider is out of the question at this point unless they have completely changed their construction method since last year. With wing riders, they tend to have a single support and footer underneath low laying track like leading up to the station. With this you have pairs of footers everywhere. You typically see this on inverts and flying coasters as the car hangs under the track and a single support would not work. I think its a forgone conclusion that its an invert at this point. A flyer isn't impossible, but it's an odd choice with Firehawk already on the grounds. If it's anything else, they would have to be building this one differently than just about any coaster they have done in the past. That's what I was afraid of. Not that I don't like invert's ( I love Raptor. ) But I guess I was hoping for a record breaking B&M floorless design, a giga, or a multiple launch coaster. I'd love a floorless. I'm fine with an invert as long as it's not just a plain jane one. Something like Oziris or Montu would be amazing. Something with tunnels and the like. I'm not seeing any tunnels in this design though, so we'll have to hope for them using terrain and close encounters effectively. But the more I look at this one, I'm more and more afraid we will be getting the dreaded "biggest/fastest/whateverest XYZ coaster in Southern Ohio" tag. They could surprise us with 8 inversions, but I would be somewhat surprised at this point.
  5. I think it is to early to tell, but if you look at the "Station" it looks like (what ever way the cart is going) getting on and off will be in the same place, similar to Back Lot Stunt Tracks station. Just a guess, there are footers completely on the left side, then in the middle what looks like where the tract will go, and then on the far right of the "Station" there are no additional footers, yet.. Take a look at this pic: http://s246.photobucket.com/user/coasterfusion/media/More%20Photos/IMG_1678_zpse78d4bda.jpg.html You can see the two footers that set off to the right past the track footers quite a bit. It looks to have at least 10-15 foot on that side. That should be the exit side of the station. I haven't quite figured out how they will get people from that side back to the park without stairs or tunnels, but I guess there is a lot we don't know.
  6. For what I'm talking about, compare: http://rcdb.com/10891.htm?p=45079 and http://rcdb.com/9675.htm?p=39580 The first being Gatekeeper, the second being oziris. The latest Wingrider and Invert respectively. Compare those to the KI pics leading to the station.

  8. I think it'll actually be coming from slingshot to the immelman. Its really looking like they will leave the station going towards the Action Zone, make the left and start the lift at the parallel footers going towards AE. The lift should drop to the right, go into a vert loop, then into the immelman, or more likely a dive loop. After that it should go under the lift and towards the valley. Kinda like: With Pink = Brake run/transfer track, Red = storage shed, Blue= station, green = track, and black = supports. Obviously my artwork sucks, and the supports are just to give perspective and are probably going to the wrong footers. But this should give you an idea what I think the start of the layout will be.
  9. And if we needed more confirmation that the track in question was not headed to King's Island, the "Country of Origin" line doesn't appear on track pieces staying in the US. It's for international shipped pieces.
  10. New tweet That there would be a legit 2014 clue(or intentional red herring). That's a b&m track piece code. Can't copy from mobile but scroll back a few pages and its the same number on the piece from the wing coaster track. Don't know if that number is the same for all b&m track or wing coaster specific, but it's definitely the same number.
  11. Just saw on Screamscape that Six Flags should be announcing their 2014 park additions on August 29th. I'd say that time period would be a safe bet as to when we should expect KI's 2014 announcement. Could be before, to beat them to the punch, or soon after to steal their thunder. But either way, thats the time frame we should be expecting something.
  12. I see your point, I was mainly showing it was in Washington, but I've removed the street address just for arguments sake. That is all public info available on any whois search of the domain. You can have that info hidden, but this person apparently didn't.
  13. Domain Name: Banshee.COM Created on: 05-Mar-95 Expires on: 06-Mar-15 Last Updated on: 29-Dec-12 Registrant: James Moore Seattle, Washington 98103 United States kiBanshee.com is still available. Pretty safe to say neither will be used by ki.
  14. I remember those days. Anytime it looked like rain everyone would run over there to beat the rush. Good times.
  15. Yeah, I watched a worker at the bank a ball game hit like 10 in a row. its all in the technique and practice.
  16. Absolutely Mean streak. It shoots pain up my lower back something fierce. At Kings Island its Vortex.
  17. Comparing The Beast and Montu?.... I don't think so... Comparing wood and steel roller coasters?......I don't think so.... Maybe its just me but I don't think that is a fair comparison.....Steel vs. Wood just doesn't make sense because they are Completely different. I'm not comparing them. I said Montu made me reconsider Beast as my favorite coaster. When someone asks you what your favorite ride is, do you list all of your favorite is by type or do you just pick one?
  18. I'm fine with an inverted as long as its done right. Montu was the first ride that made me think that maybe The Beast isn't the best ride ever. Of course Montu is an awesome coster that uses tunnels and good theming. Some of the other inverteds I haven't been as impressed with. Raptor was a disappointment to me. If this thing is an inverted that uses terrain and/or tunnels properly, I think it'll be a winner. And at this point, after looking through ride after ride on rcdb and comparing it to the current footers it really only can be an inverted or a flying coster. Nothing else matches B&M's way of doing things.
  19. “@KingsIslandPR: Turning out to be a great day to get in a lot of rides.” This confirms that the 2014 ride will be three coasters and will be a B&M Invert, an Intamin Giga, and a RCCA wooden stratacoaster. They will also duel.
  20. When you take time to find pictures to prove a point that clearly has nothing to do with what the person you are replying to is talking about, you are trolling. The shape of the footer is irrelevant to the discussion. They are talking about the holes in the footers. This is a B&M coaster. That much is certain.
  21. You are ruling out an invert because they started Leviathan's construction the year before too? O.o
  22. Those should be the evac platforms for WindSeeker
  23. Actually, gas lines are typically yellow. Electrical conduit is typically gray and storm water piping tends to be green. Don`t forget to call OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Service) before you dig, to make sure there isn`t a gas line in your way. It wouldn`t be fun to hit a gas line. Green is schedule 35 pipe that can be used for Waste, storm runoff, drainage, etc. It cannot be used for electrical conduit. Any plastic underground electrical conduit would be schedule 40 or 80 and be grey. Looking at the pipe in question, based on the location, its most likely a tie-in to a storm sewer type deal for a low point drain or a gutter tie in.
  24. How about a little fire(hawk), scarecrow? Flying coaster hint perhaps?
