if anyone knew how much Kings Island was making and there budget on a year to year basis would make these posts more realistic
-
First year under my operation ( 2014) would be to remove trims brakes from The Beast, and continue annual retracting as needed. Retrack rough parts of The Racer and repaint the white supports.. Refill the splashdown area for the stunt track.. Have a 3rd train running for Flight of Fear to increase ride capacity. 2015: have SS power to increase the length of flight deck, repaint flight deck black supports with orange tracks renaming it to The Bat. Shut down and dismantle snoopy's splash dance. 2016: add new kids ride in place of snoopy's splash dance, add fountains in a walkway so kids can walk threw them to get wet... Have SS power retrack parts of Vortex for smoother transitions, repaint Vortex. 2017: off year move maintence barns that are adjacent to x base further away from the park.. 2018: add toilet bowl slide and trapdoor water slide to Soak City. 2019:remove the wolf pack and the rest of the Son of Beast track, leaving the station left. 2020: build young studs intanim giga coaster utilizing the old sob station, and build a unloading bay for increased capacity. 2021: off year, yearly maintenance. 2022: build dark flat ride inside of the crypt, with new theming. 2023: off year, remove Dino's 2024 extend x base towards where dinos was located add restroom and restaurants. 2025: add 2 new flat rides at x base. 2026: add water coaster to Soak City. 2027: build the worlds first b&m 4D coaster in base. 2028: off year maintence. 2029: add new kids ride. 2030: retire, and freeze myself in cryo have my body hidden in the park like Walt Disney. Just kidding

I wouldn't mind seeing b&m make new trains for Vortex, they would probably look like the ones on steel dragon, except with over the shoulders restraints like Gatekeeper or Banshee.

Kep in mind, Troy, that with the area being used for Banshee, there is still a TON of room left where SOB once stood, plenty of terrain for an out and back type coaster, and, a certain haunt, for the forseeable future...This ride is a winner. A guaranteed top 5 ranked steel coaster for the next 10 + years. no doubt its going to be a winner, it just seems like they wasted a whole lot of potential the rollercoaster could of had...

You know what world records are good for? Listing on a sign outside of the ride entrance. That's about it.I'd take a good ride experience over over-hyped statistics any day. statistics matter, would you ride the flying aces 20 times a day? Having a bigger hill/drop plus more inversions on a coaster like this doesn't hurt the ride experience in any way. Plus with invert coaster production down its a records that will hold for decades. Invest a little more and get a bigger payoff, which is great because that means the next coaster will have a bigger budget from gained revenue which could mean a multiple of things.Do you really think Banshee having one more record to gloat about is going to affect per caps spending? Please! multiple records yes, this coaster only has one, the whole this is the fastest none launch invert is a filler record, it holds no water, that's like me saying this coaster has a world record for most bolts used. Cedar Fair is what it is today because of record smashing coasters, place two parks side by side, one park has alot of record breaking coasters the second prk has just your average roller coasters like Diamondback, everything else the same. You will get way more people in the first park.

A budget only stretches so far. Secondly, they might have been able to pull it off, but loose something else to make that happen. They have to balance it out somehow! Gatekeeper was 30 million, leviathan was 28 million, Kings Island was the 2nd highest grossing revenue park Cedar Fair owns. They had the money.

I was hopeing more records were going to be taken
-
Wrong, the only way to replace sob, was to install something that was missing from the parks lineup, looked beautiful and most importantly was reliable and going to remain popular for several decades. A 320 ft giga might have done that, but I have no doubt they,ve accomplished that tak with Banshee wrong you replace Son of Beast with another multi record breaking coaster, i had no issues with manufacture or type of coaster as according to people on this forum.. Just was hoping since invert coaster production has slowed down, go ahead and take all the invert coaster records, longest fastest, tallest and most inversions.
-
I understand why youngstud doesn't post now because voicing your opinion automatically means your hating on a ride, never did mention i hated the new coaster, i just don't agree on how they handled the replacing of Son of Beast.
-
KI could have replaced SOB with a sand box and that would have been less of a failure than SOB. Investing around 20 million into something that was open for around 7.5 years (I could be wrong, plus or minus a bit considering the extensive SBNO times after the accidents) is a failure on massive proportions. sob was a failure because it was beyond its time, plus paramount did not take care of its coasters, it paved the way for most of today's modern wooden coasters.
-
who cares about records well maybe they should have made it the slowest, shortest invert coaster in the world.. Records don't matter right?
-
Ill take a multi record wood coaster, over a single record invert coaster any day... This was a failure to replace Son of Beast, but is a success for b&m, no mcbr..
-
obviously needs a few more..... bulldozed works for me... But I know quite a few people on here....rank it quite high on the KI coasters list... it would not make sense to bulldoze flight deck, it operates with very little downtime, and is not in the way of future expansion, and adds on to the coaster count... In my opinion

I hope that this ride is not trimmed I would hope it is trimmed, so they can run 3 trains and not 2. i didnt mean no mid course brake run which is what you may be thinking so it can operate 3 trains, im talking about all the brakes that slow down the ride and have no other purpose than that.
-
I have a bad feeling im going to be very unhappy tomorrow at the park, me and youngstud will be carried out in cuffs. I can picture it now... this rollercoaster will be the fastest b&m invert, it also has the most trim brakes on any b&m invert to date with 7 which is a world record ya! ( editing to emphasize " will be carried out in cuffs " was metaphorically speaking, just shows how severely disappointment i will be. )
-
Man, do i hope Kings Island doesn't botch this rollercoaster, if they plan on it being a world record attraction it better take all the invert records with it... Otherwise it would be a massive failure at replacing Son of Beast which took all the wooden coaster records when it was around....
-
Someone should swing by the b&m plant, and see if the flatbed with supports have been hauled out, i think the reason they had The Racer cam go black and white is because trucks are hauling in parts of the ride... He to edit because ipad decided white was weight.
-
When I think of sob i think of multiple world records being made, this coaster being sob replacement will do the same, 217 ft tall, 207ft drop, 78mph, 8 inversions, 4109ft long... Claiming all the world records for a inverted coaster.. If this coaster is going to be sob's replacement it better be the king of inverts like sob was the king of wooden coasters.
-
There was the rumor that this was part of a 3 year plan.....I know you are in love with a giga, but If you had to pick between a giga, a strata, and an El Toro type woodie, what would you take? i would want a giga coaster, strata coasters are broken down quite often, and if i want to ride a good wooden coaster i would ride The Beast!
-
tears of joy because that leaves more room for the giga coaster, come on 2019!
