I'm okay with the flame throwers being cut. They should cut the roaming scare actors while they're at it. They should focus on decor around the park that is family friendly. Much like what Dollywood does for its Harvest Festival. Only the folks that pay for the mazes should be getting the scares.

I tend to think they drag out one of those spin-the-wheel or Plinko games out of the closet for decision-making.

They could offset some of the cost of better shows if they offered upcharge dining packages like a buffet that included, say preferred seating for a quality show. Imagine all of you can eat food in the International Restaurant then afterwards getting guaranteed ringside seating for the half-pint brawlers? But that would be too easy for SF. Well, maybe not as easy as just falling into bankruptcy. Which is pretty convenient because that’s where they’re heading.

Unless you’re Kings Island. Orion is basically an inferior Diamondback that happens to be painted blue.

I can see Arie Force One possibly ending up at Magic Mountain since they just closed X2 indefinitely. The park pulls similar numbers to KI as far as attendance goes. Magic Mountain being opened all season and it being in the LA area gives it a higher threshold for foot traffic. More than enough reason to give it to them than Kings Island.

It changes your whole perspective once you cross one of the big oceans and see other countries. During my short time in England there was a couple times where I stopped and thought: "I wish we did this back in the states." An example of that would be anytime you ride the escalator, the folks who would just stand, stand to the far right to let those who walk up the escalators get by on the left. Meanwhile everyone here just ignorantly stands in the middle.

Seeing how poorly these buildings were maintained by Coney Island, makes you wonder what could have been saved had MEMI got ownership of the park sooner.

I’m guessing they will push the idea of selling the land underneath the parks then doing a lease deal like they are currently doing with CGA. I’m sure the influx of cash will boost SF’s stock and JANA brothers will then sell their shares. Longterm there will be park closures when they can no longer pay ever increasing rent.

They might have to resell AF1.

The reason Coastermania has had more issues with unruly attendees is because it is an event that is open to everyone. Not just specific coaster groups which Coasterstock was limited to. Coastermania did happen this year. Tony Clark flushed his Morning Rush idea down the drain and "quickly" came up with a Coastermania event. Which unsurprisingly, sold out: Coastermania | Roller Coaster Event | Cedar Point I mean how hard can planning an event like CM be when it's almost rinse, recycle, and repeat, every season. Surely, Coasterstock wasn't much different in that regard. It wouldn't surprise me if Tony Clark had an event lined up for Kings Island, similar to his Morning Flush event, and when people didn't buy CP's morning flush, he canceled the event for Kings Island before it even went to market.

An important thing to note too, is that it is inside. That's a huge plus of bad weather days.

Considering Cedar Point’s Coastermania was of his making/responsibility, and after our director was let go. Tony was given oversite of Kings Island as the “Regional Manager”. Therefore it is/was his job. If I remember correctly, Coasterstock, and the Mother’s Day brunch sold out last season. Now, why would anyone with any business sense no longer host an event that sells out??? Either sheer laziness, or because the person in charge didn't like the fact that an event they didn't create was better than theirs. Stupid decision making like this, is one of the many reasons Six Flags stock is right now cheaper than a 24-pack of Coca-Cola at Kroger.

He said that it would return in an ACE event. Only for it not too afterwards. A lot of people considered Coasterstock the superior event to Coastermania. It’s tough to see someone lose their livelihood, but I’m not disappointed with Tony Clark being let go. Coasterstock and Mother’s Day brunch were axed because of him, with no replacement to follow. Also, his “Morning Flush” event did not go over well and was, quite literally, flushed down the drain. This company badly needs fresh minds in more positions of power. The old guard is stuck in their ways, and holding up progress. Six Flags needs to pivot to current trends with guest experience being at the forefront. As Bob Iger at Disney once said. “Innovate or die.”

Well Orion is only 50ft longer, and 57ft than Diamondback.

Cue the Living With The Land music.

There is a valley right here they could gain some additional drop height. Also there being woods it would enhance the nighttime ride experience.

A Tilt Coaster would make for a great replacement for Inveritgo. A big ominous tilt drop that can been seen from patrons walking into the main gate. Without the tacky flyover that ruins the ambience.

I can understand the frustration. With Disney, why do Florida residents get multiple season pass options when an out of state resident only gets 1? With that only 1 option being their most expensive pass. I thought the language was quite clear with having to activate your pass with the park you purchased from. Either way, can’t wait to hear your trip report for SFOG!

They’re making it difficult for people to circumvent their actual home park to save money. Or at least so it seems.
