  1. Speaking of Funnel Cake, the M&M funnel fries from Jukebox Diner is very good!
  2. I believe the new cup size will put the park in line with what Holiday World provides. As you’ve mentioned however, Holiday World doesn’t have a time limit for how often you can get a drink. At this rate the fact they are willing to giveaway the drink plan with season passes they should switch to Holiday World’s model.
  3. From my understanding it does get booked out for private parties. I'm sure there is a time frame of when that can be done and not a last-minute thing. So, if it isn't booked with a certain timeframe, it should be an automatic punt as an offering to the general public on busy weekends for fireworks like you've mentioned. Offer a Dessert buffet, fountain drinks and a cash bar.
  4. if you’re able to cancel your stay at the express hotel at no cost, I would. You’d be better off at or the Holiday Inn, or Castaway bay for the right price. Backbeat BBQ is the best restaurant in the park in my opinion. The brisket, Mac & cheese with cornbread is delicious! My second favorite location has to be The Grand Pavilion, the menu changes so I can’t tell you exactly what to get but the food is good and the view of the lake is even better. I have All Season Fast Lane so I might not be the person to tell you which ride to ride first. I’d imagine TT2 has the longest line in the park, followed by Sirens Curse. So hit up one of those first.
  5. And I bet Kings Island provided no options for preferred seating as an up-charge so folks would not have to deal with the swarm of people around the entrance and fountain. Disney for their fireworks shows offers a designated area that provides a view the fireworks as well as deserts and drinks for an upcharge. Cedar Point did something very similar with their 4th of July firework show this past weekend. Meanwhile the International restaurant at Kings Island remained dormant. If that would have been offered this past weekend it would have likely sold out.
  6. Instead they will promise something like bottled soft drinks in the prestige lounge. Then, once a bunch of people sign up for the prestige pass they will pull the rug out from underneath them.
  7. Wagyu grippo burger will be available today at the wishbone grill: https://www.facebook.com/stories/101349368699427/UzpfSVNDOjI1NzkwNDg0NDI0NDk4NTc=/?view_single=1&source=shared_permalink&mibextid=wwXIfr
  8. Thats because as a child, you didn’t see the bill after your visit with the Mouse.
  9. Walt Disney Company: $98.61 -July 3, 2024. $124.00 -July 3, 2025. I don't think Mickey Mouse is in a world of hurt.
  10. The coaster additions were half assed. Do you think guest would have filled out the surveys with the coaster types they wanted based off what the park has produced? It is evident the powers that be, that have green lighted these coasters to be built don’t even understand the coaster type and what those types are good at. For example, Orion shares more elements in common with Diamondback than it does to any of the other giga coasters in the Six Flags company, and yet Diamondback still does airtime better. Water coasters are known for their speed and uphill elements. River Racers only has one uphill element and the ride is terribly slow. Speaking of surveys here is one from 2024. The questioning provided will only result in vague one or two word answers. It lacks the questioning to get the reasoning of WHY people answered the way they did.
  11. The current fountain set up is nicer with the jets interacting with the nighttime firework show. The fountain pedestals are dated and get in the way, in my opinion. If anything I’d like to see more water jet features like a water screen be added to the fountains so the park can project a video and imagines onto it during the nighttime fireworks.
  12. That would defeat the purpose of FastLane all together. lol
  13. I don’t think United Parks has done much with acquiring asserts since they attempted to buy CF and changing their name from Seaworld Entertainment. Maybe they’re waiting to see how desperate Six Flags becomes to unload some of their assets? With that said, Six Flags should sell some of their parks that no longer “strategically fit” their core business. They could use the extra money to pay down debt and help shore up the parks that are apart of their core focus with large metro populations that need the investment.
  14. Maybe they are boosting the metrics for parks not apart of the “core focus for growth”. With the intention of attracting potential buyers?
  15. His departure, coupled with layoffs and reduced staffing, brought us to this point.
  16. For those interested in theme park trains a new book with history of a variety of theme park trains is available for pre order: https://rivershorepress.com/store/ticket-to-ride?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwLBSCdleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHgi7-R4jdsHtferDhWLuE41zA2dxOFkDq_3xpPkbZVBtjCc0BA2yE_ggSSJx_aem_tALPsJEaFDBRap1i40TItw
  17. Kings Island’s VP of Food and Beverage, Mark Boyer, has been promoted to Park Manager at Six Flags Over Texas. Congratulations Mark! https://x.com/jeffrey_siebert/status/1934341027264934296
  18. Well at least I know now, I ain’t the only person that “rounds up.”
  19. Spent the day at Epcot. The park wasn’t that busy given the heat, and that there were no events going on. Started the day riding Frozen, then afterwards rode the Grand Fiesta Tour before making our way to GEO-82. My girlfriend and I did not have reservations for the bar / lounge and figured we could join the walk up list if we got there at open. Only to find out there is no walk up list due to the high demand for the newly opened bar and that a reservation was required. Fortunately the hostess let us know there was an opening today due to a cancellation. For whatever reason the hostess was unable to reserve the table for us so after about what seemed like forever smashing the refresh button on my phone the spot opened and we booked a table for two. After booking a table for the GEO-82 bar we made our way to the Passholder lounge. Making our way the Passholder Lounge. We stopped and got our Passholder magnet from Connections. The Passholder lounge, which is nothing more than a converted restaurant during the busier months of the season. Was air conditioned and we were provided unlimited snacks, Moroccan mint tea and water that wasn’t from the tap. They also given us a Passholder pin. We also got the option to have our photo taken with the Genie from Aladdin. The lounge also had restrooms and a locker to charge your phone. After leaving the Passholder lounge we went to have lunch at Via Napoli’s.After lunch we rode Guardian's of the Galaxy and made our way to our reservation at the GEO-82 Bar. The GEO-82 bar is the newest lounge in Epcot that is connected to the Ball. The entrance is a small hallway before exiting Project Tomorrow (Spaceship Earth exit). At the end of the hallway you're greeted by a hostess who directs you up the stairs to a pre lounge before being seated at your table. At this spot they provide you a cool lemon zest smelling towel to cool off or wipe yourself down if needed. From here you are taken to your table once ready. The bar had a lot of accents that tied into the Epcot ball theme. The waiter provided a menu with a list of specialty cocktails and a few appetizers. You can also order drinks from the bar. We opted to stick with a liquid diet and not get any appetizers this visit. I had a Brown butter Old Fashion, which was highly recommended by the waiter and for round 2 I got an Electron. The drinks were good, you can taste the alcohol as well. However it is a bit pricey as there are cheaper options in the park. You’re basically paying for the atmosphere. I would do this again but on a special occasion. After leaving the lounge we got a passholder latte from Joffery’s and left the park to escape the heat. Overall it was a good visit.
  20. To add to the dining experiences at the International Street Restaurant. They could, on the busy weekends, offer a desert buffet for the fireworks show. Similar to what Disney does. The talent working at Sweet Spot rival that of Disney in my opinion.
  21. I participated in this year’s Food and Wine festival. The food options were better, as well as the presentation of the food compared to last year. (Ditching the boats) The worst food item I had was the poutine fries. There was no gravy or Au jus sauce, and the curds were still cold. Everything else was good. They chose to use the Disney model of purchasing so many food items gets you a reward. With the reward being a desert from sweet spot. The desert had no name and the container was nothing special. Disney at least rewards you with a desert placed into a cup with Emile and the Food and Wine Festival label as a souvenir to take home: Here is Disney’s Food and Wine desert reward for comparison:
  22. Yeah, you probably should get the all season drink plan. So you can get larger cups of water, and water at any location. For comparison sakes: A Kings Island Silver Pass ($120) with the all season drink plan ($36.99) is cheaper than a Holiday World Summer Card ($165).
