  1. I wonder if KI can just Frankenstein a second Banshee train using the undamaged carts till the repairs are made for the time being. Haunt being a busy time of year it would be vital to regain some of the ride’s capacity, IMO.
  2. Last night, Barney Fife had control of the brakes on Banshee. Two trains ended up colliding and Banshee finished the day operating with 1 train. No injuries reported. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1o7Y9FNpZ1XcsjP2/?
  3. I just seen this job posting on Six Flags website. It talks about having a regional manager for a group of parks: https://jobs.cedarfair.com/job/charlotte/regional-manager-social-media-and-digital-content-midwest-region/42509/69749220096 It appears that everyone working in the PR / Marketing department at their respective park will have to reapply for a job? What will this mean for Coasterstock?
  4. I think the crypt building is prime real-estate for a Diet Coke factory.
  5. Yeah the Fantasmic Dinner Package is totally worth it. This last time around my GF and I did the Fantasmic Dinner package at the Sci-Fi Drive-in Theater Restaurant. Did you dress up for the Halloween party?
  6. You’re missing the point, CP and its world class, record breaking coasters, is what draws people to those hotels. Sure, dynamic pricing might change when and where someone stays during there visit. But the fact remains that CP is the draw in Sandusky. Hotel Breakers, Express Hotel, Lighthouse Point, and Castaway bay are closed when CP isn’t open. By your account these places should be able to remain open with dynamic pricing.
  7. The food was great and so too was the ambience. However, It is a bit pricey and I don’t find much value in meeting Disney Princesses. I would say for a once in a while experience yes.
  8. Maybe go the Disney route and replace Boo Blasters with something like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway themed with Peanuts characters of course. It would be a better fit for Planet Snoopy:
  9. For those wondering how the lantern works. You have to aim these bulbs (circled in red) at the activation point. (Orange circle). There is a reset button (circled in blue) that you can press if you would like the prop to play again. I would recommend doing this. Also for those wondering where the locations are, there is a QR code at the bottom of the lantern that you can scan that directs to a website that has a map as well as directions to how the lantern works. 10. Girlfriend and I dressed up to attend my fist Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We arrived early, to eat lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. This ticketed event only allows entry at 4pm, beforehand you either need to be a passholder or purchase a normal park ticket separately. Cinderella's Royal Table We made our way to the back of the Castle and entered a side door. I was a bit surprised to find out that the restaurant was located directly above the walk-through path of the castle. The waiting area was below the dining hall. The waiting area had a grand hall like feel, there we were greeted by Cinderella. The hostess then had us follow her upstairs to a waiter who then taken us to our table. Cinderella's Royal Table is one of the few restaurants you pay in advance when you make a reservation. This included a 3-course meal of your choosing from the menu. Alcohol was the only upcharge at the restaurant. I choose to get braised beef as an appetizer, lamb chops for the entree, and a chocolate ganache tart for the finale. By far the braised beef was my favorite. While you're waiting on food, various Disney Princess's make their rounds in the dining hall. Afterwards you are given the option of souvenir. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party We started the party by riding some rides that normally have long waits. The days the park closes early to the GP typically has short wait times. We then proceeded to make our way to get our wrist bands and the provided trick or treat bags for the event. From there we focused mainly on the 3 rides that were themed and or altered for the event. The Haunted Mansion had actors in the graveyard bantering with guests. Given that we were the odd couple sticking out by not wearing Disney themed costumes we became easy targets. After Haunted Mansion we proceeded to the Teacups ride which had a lightning and music package for the event. The last ride themed for the event was Space Mountain. We rode Space Mountain earlier in the day prior to the event just to see what the difference would be. Well, it was entirely different being that Space Mountain was completely blacked out, with horror music playing in the background. It was a wild experience, not seeing where the on-ride photo was made for some very awkward photos. We made our way back to Mainstreet to take apart of some special event treats, followed by the Halloween themed firework show at the castle. As midnight drew closer, the lines for trick or treating were gone so we made multiple stops. It didn't take many stops to fill our bags as Disney uses scoops to pass out candy. After 3 stops our bags were full. During that time, we intermittently stopped to get photos. Which in hindsight was a mistake, because photos are still being taken after the event ends at midnight. We then proceeded to find a place to watch the parade the parade took 30 mins to reach our location on the route. Afterwards we finished the night riding Space Mountain. Final thoughts We had a blast during this event, although in my opinion it didn't seem like the event was long enough. Time does fly when you're having fun, haha. The lines were short and seeing different characters / firework show / parade made the event all the better. Some takeaways that I learned from attending was for the parade, to stand by the route where the parade starts in Frontierland. We lost a good amount of time standing at Mainstreet waiting for the parade to get there. Secondly was getting photos during the event. Alot of the photo stations around Mainstreet stayed open after the event ended.
  11. I don't think they would be willing to go with Zamperla though? Would they pick Intamin??
  12. $40. However it was loaned to me to be reviewed.
  13. My opinion is that this is nothing more than a Red herring. Again there have been no survey markers found. Unlike Coney Mall which has quite a few of them. However not ruling out any possibility. If there is markings it’s in a location guests can’t readily reach. The Timberwolf Amphitheatre would be that location. If I’m not mistaken there haven’t been any events there this season?
  14. There was markings in the preferred lot earlier this season:
  15. I’m impressed with the interactive lantern so far at KI. A plethora of locations to interact with. More so than Disney’s Magic Band.
  16. **Update** The wheelchair honks and then it plays the radio.
  17. I’m not sure if this thing is working right. Is the wheelchair supposed to do burnouts or something?
  18. Dynamic pricing isn't what draws people to stay the night in Sandusky. Dynamic pricing is strictly to compete with the neighboring hotels. What draws people to Sandusky is Cedar Point, and its lineup of world class, record breaking coasters. Even with Dynamic pricing, CP still charges a premium to stay in one of its hotels.
  19. There’s a lot of coincidence going on to not think that the disastrous investment in TT2 plays some part on why this decision was made. Especially with 41 other parks to choose from. Maybe they did not meet their expectations for hotel reservations at CP, so the decision was made to capture that loss in reservations by adding a new coaster. Also who knows. TT2 might never reopen, what would be the outlook for the hotels next season be if TT2 never reopens?
  20. Because CP is a destination park with 5 hotels which makes the chain millions of dollars. Gotta keep those rooms booked.
  21. Whatever they’re getting it will probably break a record.
