  1. Purchased a meal on Friday and the sauce/bread was included in the meal.
  2. I believe Firehawk has them as well. Just because I remember seeing them more "exposed" to the elements and not under the tents directly like most other rides.Oh - and can't forget about Diamondback. I also can't help but feel like FUNTV is just part of a larger marketing campaign to include the "fun" branding more predominantly throughout the park(s). I noticed almost every transaction I made Friday ended with " hope you have a FUN rest of your day!" and even a guy collecting trays in Festhaus took ours from the table and said "hope you guys have FUN!". Maybe I'm just over thinking it but I don't remember that from last year.
  3. Yeah I saw those actually haha. We first thought we could just use the stroller but it was to big to even fit on the one we had. So I volunteered to carry it back to the car. Let's just say it was it was "interesting " just trying to jam it into the car. Eventually after pushing, pulling, and cramming I was able to close the doors. Just then someone walked by and asked if I would sell it. "sorry man too little too late".
  4. I know exactly what you're talking about - because I was "lucky"enough to win one for my 3yr old daughter this year. It's name is Ooo-EeeAhh. It's so big she actually still is kinda scared to go near it alone lol. But man the one time we didn't take our truck to the park this year we won it and we had one heckuva ride back with that thing tied down(but basically hanging out the back of the trunk) . They look big hanging from the ring toss stand - but it's hard to put it into perspective until you try squeezing it through a door. ]
  5. See the Camden Park Big Dipper... And should you get the nerve for a closer look -- The box of what appears to be "spare parts" visible in the station will certainly make you realize you'll never get a second chance... To make a first impression that is
  6. " Q & A is on with Don" Or "KI Bird's Eye" to keep a tweet/twitter reference Or "Racer-King Question-ing" Ok I'm done now
  7. Little Dipper at Camden Park in the late 80's. Too scared that the Big Dipper was going to fall apart for another 10 years or so (sometimes I still wonder if it could just looking at it ). But I rode as a teen and again this year (it's actually a good ride) We always had to bring my best friend to any park or fair when I was a child because my dad and he would actually ride the rides( novel concept eh?). By the time I was 16 my Dad had passed away and I never got to ride a coaster with him- just any flat that spun like crazy. But somehow now all these years later finally finding the love of coasters that he had it makes me feel a little better that it seems I'm not the only one that was scared to death until some random ride caught me hook, line, sinker. Thanks KI
  8. Guess we just keep going out along the edges, always where I burn to be, but then again the further on the edge, the hotter the intensity.
  9. I think Backlot gets the hate for what it replaced As for me -because of that location my wife and I ended up there this year for the first trip to the park since both of us were in middle school and by taking that random ride it started the fire for us so much so that we are planning a trip to Dollywood to curb the offseason blues. So for me it will always be a favorite.
  10. I'd have to say the attraction Snoopy's Flash Dance is only thing I would change. Mainly because of the entrance/exit problems mentioned above that just really makes me uncomfortable when my 3 year old wants to go through; it just really would work so much better as part of the water park if you had to keep it Even moreso because I could envision a set of flyers fitting there nicely(maybe there's enough room or maybe not --but in my mind it fits perfectly).
  11. Thanks CoastersRZ! Wow. That is just crazy to think about the speed through that element - forceful or forceless - fast is good enough for me
  12. So aren't the next few pieces of track going to be where Banshee hits top speed?
  13. Sure hope so - as that's what happened to me as well. And I've seen part of the marketing for renewal is that " you get to keep the same card as 2013!" I really wasn't sure about getting mine so early at first, but when I realized I could keep the card all winter.. = sold!
  14. The wife and I have seen two skunks this year as well - one walking up to AE and the other outside the cavern of terror a few weeks ago. But the best encounter so far was two Fridays ago about 12:30 while getting in line for The Beast. Just above the vending machine at the end as you turn right up towards the ramp - a raccoon stuck his head and paw out just above our heads. I walked back to tell the girl at the entrance and she said "yeah I keep telling them he comes out here at night but I don't think they've ever tried to catch him" We are used to being around wild animals(originally from WV so that's just the norm) but if I had been about 8 inches taller it probably would have ended differently- they definitely aren't as cute and cuddly as they look. Moral of the story is watch the clearance next time you get thirsty in line for The Beast
  15. Hey more power to ya! It's a good PR move so I don't think it's a problem to find the good in it and take it for what it's worth --- $1. -----
  16. Yeah, unfortunately appreciating their customers is only a small percentage of their motivation to provide deals in this case. Moreso they've looked at trends and decided more is better than less. Especially on a Sunday that was initially closed to the public.

^Agreed. The only time I go to the waterpark is with the Fam, but now and again I'll sneak away for a slide or two. Those slides NEVER seem to have much of a line but are the best in the park IMO. Everytime I've made it to the top- there always seems to be 2 or 3 people on the slides to each side and no wait for the middle. The first time I went for it there was a definite "OH...." followed by something that I'm glad to report no kids were around to hear.
  18. The bins on BLSC are positioned in a difficult place that pretty much forces the crew to take them and put them in the bins for riders; so most of the time people take whatever they have with them probably because they don't notice that they are on the same side of the track, just back where the train exits. That being said I've noticed people handing bags/stuffed animals and the like to the Ops. Just have to be quick about it as they check restraints. Although I'm like most and never have anything loose anyway - unless my wife is with me and then it's just a small bag/cup that she holds on to and it works out well to step through the strap and place it on the floor. Then again I've yet to get her on any of the "big boy" rides where it could be an issue. Maybe that's why she always says no.
  19. I noticed they were smaller, but I was more impressed with the apparent game of "who can fit the most single slices of pizza on a single tray" game that appeared to be occurring. Walking down International Street it seemed that every single table was a participant. Using the previously posted Skyline "we lost money on dollar days last year " as a yardstick for comparison; Even if their profit margin per slice was a penny, they were still rakin' in the dough.
  20. Just wondering what is the typical difference in price from the end of the year prices( ie current) and purchasing before the start of the season next spring ? I know nothing would be exact just an estimate of the "usual"
  21. Sorry I failed to mention it applies for the 31 of August and Sept 1,2,8th. For anyone else interested. So bring a friend and dollar days combined - I'd just hope there's a limit on certain "dollar friends".
  22. Yes, according to a Facebook post last Friday Gold and Platinum pass holders can bring up to (4) friends for 19.99 each and they can participate in ERT as well. It also applies on the 8th da Birthday bash here . "simply present your pass at the admissions window to take advantage of this offer " enjoy!
  23. Ah yes - my experience before moving to the Dayton area was " sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite" Now I'm on a first name basis with the Orkin man because of constant issues at the office. Shout out to Roger.
  24. Thanks SOB ! Also Youngstud did you ever find out what Chipmunks song plays in Planet Snoopy? I didn't hear it the last time we went(but always wondered the same thing) and sorry the search function keeps timing out on my phone right now.
  25. Hey all. - I've been lurking since early spring when my family(wife and 3yr old daughter) bought gold passes for our first season at KI. I grew up around Camden Park which for whatever reason (the bucket of spare parts in the Big Dipper station could hold some significance)made me terrified of coasters as a kid but now this season I've gradually become obsessed with them you might say . Anywho.... Just to add to the thread finally... In line for The Beast today I heard a guy behind me that said "Son of Beast was the first coaster that Paramount ever built.-- I rode it in 2010 and all my friends said it was the only wooden looping coaster in the world- I just walked up to the loop, pointed and said -nope it's steal". Touché good friend, Touché
