I'm way late to the party here, but they do ask for your season pass number when purchasing the bring a friend tickets. So you'll either need to give them the number, or buy the tickets for them

I tried to get some other day and they were out. So I asked about the buffalo fries, they were out of those as well.

Celestial Sausage now available for a limited time only

Looks like something I'd be happy to try and throw away after a few bites. Good on them for making new foods, I just can't stand sweet chicken. -
That's the one, but I don't remember it being there before Nickelodeon's Splat City. KICs ride list says 1998 https://KICentral.com/rides/woodstock-whirlybirds/ I might just be misremembering, either way that's one of the few kids rides I won't miss if they removed it.

Jimminy Christmas, 18 in 15 days? Well done! Glad you had a fun ride

Honestly I feel like KI getting that Golden Ticket for nearly 20 years is mostly due to what Paramount set up. I don't think I can recall CF adding just about anything to the kids/family area since they got bought (my timeline might be messed up). I always just figure they keep coasting (*lol) but no parks have caught up yet so they keep winning. I'd love to see Boo Blasters re-done, and maybe 1-2 more mid-range full family rides. Honestly a teacup style ride would work well, and maybe something else. Then for the love of airtime, upgrade some of the older rides. That helicopter ride is terrible, I know why kids like it but jeez it is 15 years old and feels like 30? It is slow, comically bumpy for how slow it is, and the lack of air flow makes the whole thing feel super stuffy while hilariously being up where most of the wind should be and trying to mimic a helicopter. The Peanuts 500 and small train ride just needs to have some of the track repaved. On the tiny coaster (Scooby Zoom), what is going on with that monsters hiccup on the hill, sort it out, you don't even need a ladder! Enough about my rants of the kids area. I like dark rides, I think they are fun, they are a nice place to cool off, and offers something potentially more interactive and for history sake something a bit "spoopy" for kids to do all year.

They used to have one of these on the pathway that Chick-Fil-A is at back when it was Hanna-Barbera land right? I remember walking through something similar.

We were talking about this in another thread. Sounds like someone jumped a fence at Soak City to escape an accident. They locked down the park.

If any of you are in the Mason Deerfield group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/145691058934939/permalink/1264087967095237/ Later comments say they found someone jump a fence near Soak City to get away from that crash, and they locked down to find the person.

It is still on the app but without the reservation I don't know how they'll track it. I am not sure what it appeared on the screen when checking in to say whether it was actually completed or not.

On my 3 visits so far I've seen most people wearing the masks and distancing "correctly". I've only seen one person blatantly not wearing it (around the chin), he was cheering for his kid on a ride and was way off on his own though so I didn't bother. Only actual problem I had was with a 6 year old girl that wanted to stand right next to me in line. Unfortunately the party behind her took the sticker spot behind me so she had nowhere to go, I guess they though she was with me and I couldn't really tell her to back up. She also spent her entire time in the line gnawing on her mask so it was nowhere near her nose. Even on the midways the mask usage has been surprisingly good.

Small "gazebos" made of elevated solar panels, with ceiling fans. They power themselves, they create shade, and a nice comfort zone. Make them big enough and maybe even wire them into the park's grid for a few extra pennies of savings a day. It isn't like the park doesn't have a ludicrous amount of big open areas (parking lot).
-
I am going to assume this is a calculated gamble by CF. Take the reservations away and try to coax a few more people to the park by removing a small hurdle. Hope that the numbers go up, but not so much that the park reaches their capacity limits. Even if they let in a few more early on carefully. The park has been super empty, though it is kind of hilarious while at the park because some rides I am pretty sure take longer despite having 1/4 of the line due to the cleaning, lower staffing, and reduced seating (I'm looking at your Aerial Chase). I'll still go to the park, but if I start noticing huge swaths of crowds coming in, I'll probably just leave.

It's a benefit on both ends indeed. Draw in some local people who actually watch the show and he gets some solid practice up on stage with his name as the headliner

We used to pay him a little over minimum wage, but now that people know his name we will pay him a ton more to perform solo! - Cedar Fair *probably*

What incentive would that give them? People with the meal plan aren't really bringing in extra money every visit. Why would they give them MORE food for free when they are already comparatively losing a ton of money compared to regular seasons?

I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it has been going. The only times I've seem people without masks on are either because they are very young or doing something else that requires their mouth, then it goes right back on. I've only seen one guest complain about them, which seems to have been a bit of confusions about a young child (2 and under) needing a mask on a ride? People space out correctly in lines, though they tend to pack up if they aren't directly directed on spacing out. Honestly I feel less worried about contagions at Kings Island than I do at Kroger.

I enjoyed Orion. The drop is a doozy, but it's very Diamondback-y without being as fun as Diamondback. Definitely a fun ride and I'll look forward to riding it each trip, but if it's a toss between Orion or DB, I'll choose DB.
-
Other than improper mask usage it looks like most things are getting generally done correctly. I'm looking forward to my visit Friday then figuring out if taking my kids would be a "safe" idea. On the topic of everyone complaining of wearing the masks, I've taken to calling it "freedumb".

I am excited to read about how OTHER people are doing during the first day
-
reserved my spot for the 10th. I had no desire to go the first day while they try to actually figure out how to handle new policies. Hopefully a full week gives them time to settle themselves.
-
Probably, but that will be because we ran out of O2 and our masks will keep us from going all OG Total Recall.
-
With all the extra employees they seem to be planning on posting around, they could easily set up essentially a mask observer. Mask off for a long time, do one of those "stop sitting on the fence" things. Do it again, tell them they'll be removed. 3rd time, security can be waiting at the ride. Once people see they're serious, then others will listen. I am curious if they'll track how much someone reserves a spot and possibly give them a lower priority. I can also see them unfortunately doing a hard count on pass members a day. Extending the passes to next year is great, but they'll need money for all the extra effort and they'll only get that mostly from tickets and day visits, not repetitive member visits.

Less capacity and higher costs of operation, and think of the insurance! Get rid of Boo Blasters, and bring Boo Blasters 2.0: AR Edition!
-
ride operations are going to kind of be hilarious to watch this year. Please stand at a distance in line, so we can pack you closer together later on. Or will they just skip every other seat? Orion's line is going to end somewhere near The Bat with a 6ft distance between each person.
