I was at work at 5:15 this morning. I am happy to work in a warm office. Kudos to those guys (and gals) that get out in such cold weather to work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am hoping Kentucky Kingdom does well. I loved going there. I actually preferred it pre Six Flags, I really cannot quite put a reason with that. So, it opening up non Six Flags makes me a little happier. It's the only Six Flags park I've been to. I think with what I had heard about other Six Flags properties I was expecting more improvements in the years it operated. There are so many issues that go into the spending too much, too little, etc. I think if they can get some huge coasters or top thrills it will help, but when you factor Kings Island is less than two hours away, Holiday World 1 1/2 hours away and even Dollywood about 4 hours away, they have really steep competition. Especially with Kings Island and Dollywood. Those two parks alone have consistently made changes, added some major thrills and continue to do so. With all seriousness, Dollywood excels with customer service more than many other parks. (Kings Island has drastically improved over the past several years.) note: I have never been to any Disney location. I've heard their parks are dynamic. Having enough "thrill" to draw from those parks will take money. I still struggle with how it will be profitable over time. I just don't see how it could be. Personally even if I had unlimited resources I would not throw excessive amounts of money into a park that needs extensive improvements. I still see issues with many things. Having any type of drop ride seems like a very bad choice. Marketing is still lacking. Announcements not done at appropriate times. Where's the hype? Even if I was not aware of things going on with a new ride at Kings Island, they had enough hype about Banshee I would have heard about it. My mom who is in her mid 60's, that is not a huge fan of amusement/theme/thrill parks that lives an hour west of Indianapolis told me she heard Kings Island was getting a new ride before August 8. In Indianapolis they had on one of the news outlets about Banshee being completed. This is free marketing, in the winter time getting people excited about the park already. I don't know why something like this would not be done at Kentucky Kingdom. I still feel a huge negative is the parking issue. I understand that it's something unavoidable, however if I am deciding to go to Kings Island or Kentucky Kingdom for the day, I would likely choose Kings Island with one reason being parking is already included in my trip. I sent it to you in email. With the warning we were given about links only with social media and all, I did not want to go against that request. I could over think it, but wanted to be safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I go in most days at 7:30 and have an assigned lunch at 11:00. I'd actually prefer a later lunch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Test. I had this error. Glad it is not just for me. It's like mobile laryngitis.

It sucks that I've been too slammed at work to even get to watch any of this the past several days. That is truly one beautiful ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Five Roller Coasters We're Looking Forward To in 2o14
LoraX replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
I really am considering planning a trip to Dollywood this year. I have not been there since 2010 and know they have had several changes. The new coaster just makes me want to go more now. I have a friends that lives in Pigeon Forge and think they will let us stay with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I know when I saw it I thought there was a story behind it. I thought I had taken a picture of it since it seemed different, but cannot find it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had seen the O'Terpy one during Haunt. Coincidence or is it named in honor of you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just throwing this out there. There is a certain game that is coming up in a couple of weeks. It's the Big Game the Broncos and Seahawks will be playing. You are not permitted to use the name of said game without express written consent if it's done for commercial (financial gain) use. The NFL have invested a lot of money in lawyers and licensing to prevent unauthorized use of that event name. The are known to be aggressive with pursuing actions against trademark infringement. Some companies do take measures against improper use of their products, services or names in various contexts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It does get annoying when people do not use proper capitalization. I don't know why it takes so many reminders to get people to use proper capitalization. I would think with the amount of reminders and support from those who run this site, people would think before responding with incorrect capitalization. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Help clean earlier in the week. I have friends that host a large dinner at Thanksgiving. We clean and set up stuff the weekend before. Of course that does not help with shopping and cooking (some of which can be done early as well). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I grew up in the '80s. I love the music. I still listen to Duran Duran, Hall & Oates, the Police, etc. However, the 50's is probably my favorite decade of music. Buddy Holly is probably my favorite musician of all times. Then with Elvis, Everly Brothers, Nat King Cole, Patsy Cline, Sam Cooke, Chuck Berry (and many, many more) you have amazing music that stands the test of time. Plus, poodle skirts and sock hops, I was born way too late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't struggle with calling that one Beastie nearly as much since I was maybe 10 when that change occurred and my trips to KI were just one to two times a year at that time. I have called it Scooby Doo on more than one occasion though. Seriously, is it called Woodstock Express now? We rarely go to that area now. I probably cannot tell you most of the current ride names in that section. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like the name change. I have a tendency to call rides by old names though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the 17th and 18th off. Yay!!!! I can't wait. Katie will likely be with me on the 17th but I doubt the 18th. Chances are, we will be there the 19th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
