  1. For those who want to talk about the construction then for the time being talk about it in this thread. It is really not that big of a deal.
  2. I hope if they do freshen up X-Base's theme that it is not a complete re-theme. I do love the Hangar 18/Area 51 vibe.
  3. Every ghost hunting show ever: "Whoah! Did you guys see that?" *roll backs footage to show something mundane and easily explainable happen* "This place is definitely haunted."
  4. I wonder with its popularity if Grand Carnivale will be a yearly event.
  5. My main point of contention with removing Congo Falls is it is a very convenient ride to have in Action Zone on days like today and yesterday. This particular section of the park has very little shading and often feels like a desert on hot, humid days. So I don't want to see it removed unless there it is replaced by something similar. I'd much rather see Timberwolf go, but also why aren't we trying to use the old SOB land, in which no coaster or amphitheater needs to be demolished?
  6. More Coke Freestyle stations! (Seriously, being able to get Sprite Zero is a lifesaver for a diabetic who has to get up early in the morning!)
  7. The park will say something to the effect of "Join us at (insert time, day, and part of the park here) for a special announcement!" It is about a few days to a week before. IndyGuy will put up a thread in the "news" section of the board -- and I'm sure it will become the main topic of this thread -- so it will be hard to miss. Looking at the "news" section, KMAA was announced last August, Mystic Timbers on July 2016, and Banshee on August 9, 2013. The thread teasing the announcement event for Banshee was posted on August 2, a week before.
  8. My guess is the announcement won't come until at least August. I hope it comes sooner though.
  9. I wouldn't be sad to see it go as I almost never ride it. However, I am not sure if I see a reason for it to go either. It seems like there is always a line for it, so I dunno. Technically, I wouldn't miss Drop Tower either. The only removal here I am really protesting is Congo Falls. Action Zone feels like a hot plate. It must stay!
  10. I don't see them getting rid of Drop Tower anytime soon. I don't want to see Congo Falls go either. It's nice to have a water ride on that side of the park, especially on the hottest days. I'd rather say goodbye to The Crypt building, Timberwolf (although not likely, because of Spirit Song), and that old SOB land before we tear down another ride.
  11. That's probably where I was getting "blue raspberry." A lot of things with that flavor taste similar to "blue ice cream."
  12. Why do people keep trolling others for being fans of companies like Intamin? I'll take genuine enthusiasm any day of the week.
  13. I'd rather say goodbye to that big ugly building in Rivertown than see The Bat or Vortex leave.
  14. The blue ice cream, formerly known as "Smurf ice cream," is blue raspberry. I haven't found it in the ice cream aisle in stores, but there is a candy shop at Liberty Center that offers blue raspberry gummies.
  15. If anything, I'd like to see the park go all out in celebrating their 50th. Maybe do something small like a museum or some sort of show that honors the park's history. If any ride at all is installed that year, I'd much rather see another defunct ride return, like the keelboats, some sort of flat, or the return of the Enchanted Theater (albeit Peanut-ized).
  16. I think an online store might boost revenue when the park isn't open. For whatever reason, maybe because I miss the park, the off-season is when I desire KI merchandise the most.
  17. I'd hate it if the shed were removed altogether. I think it adds a little something to the experience. Hopefully they get it back up and running soon.
  18. I don't think that is always true. In some cases, over-delegation seems to slow things down more. Holding people (and in some rare cases, trains) back to hunt down a single rider to fill one lousy spot doesn't help anybody and makes guests feel like they have to wait longer. The best solution to just let it go. Things seem to go smoother when the concern is less about filling every seat on the train and more about just getting people on them and sending them out.
  19. Oh no, this is how Maximum Overdrive begins.
  20. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I do like the atmosphere of Haunt. But I am not a fan of old ride buildings taking up space along the midway to be used as a maze for a few weeks in the year and I personally don't think any of the mazes are good enough to justify keeping the Action Theater and The Crypt around. It seems that the real reason they keep those buildings is they don't want to spend the money to demolish and therefore would rather use them for storage for the majority of the year, which is understandable. However, repainting Killmart was a step in the right direction and I wish they could do something similar to the rest. (Personally, I like the idea of turning one of those buildings into a KI museum, with former ride remnants and such.)
  21. I really didn't see the harm in letting the kid sit by himself. So what if they send out a train with one or two empty seats? The line was almost a walk-on. I mean, big deal, right? More importantly, he didn't need to be repeatedly ordered by a ride op. It's not boot camp.
  22. So where exactly is the queue for this going?
  23. It seems to me like the perks are beneficial, they just have a habit of going to the wrong people.
  24. I seem to recall hearing the nickname "Diamondstack" before the seat belts were installed.
  25. "Save the Drop Tower! Save the Drop Tower!"
