  1. I rode the Blue Racer today and spotted what appeared to be an electrical line towards the WindSeeker end of the clearing. I don't remember seeing it in my previous visits. Was that their during Coasterstock?
  2. The average employee isn't going to be in the know and even the select few who are wouldn't tell you. But a giga wave pool does sound like a blast. "The tide is high..."
  3. Hopefully, the tower will get some love for the 50th anniversary.
  4. I'd like to see that come back, as well as the re-opening of the other deck.
  5. If that layout is any representation of what we'll actually get, it looks like it'll be a fun ride. I can see where people are coming from with it looking like Diamondback 2.0. But I doubt that'll bother me when it is all said and built. Beating records isn't something that goes through my head as I am going up the lift hill.
  6. The effect works for me, as well. But I think things are moot on the trees as they've planted new ones, which in time will grow and bring things back to the way they were. However, I do wish they'd move the flags. But I am not sure where.
  7. If this "Madhouse" thing is a joke, I think it's run its course.
  8. If the station sits in the Firehawk plot, isn't that a little far for a transfer track? Most usually seem closer.
  9. Just a strange observation. Yesterday, I was walking down I-Street and as always, I walk past the Starbucks. I like coffee, but it's not something I crave at Kings Island. So I usually never go in. However, its presence at the park has always seemed odd to me, but I never really thought about why. Starbucks are everywhere, so I usually shrug it off. But this time, I look in. And it hits me just how weird it is. Unlike most of the franchises at the park, the vibe is exactly what you get at a normal Starbucks. Quiet atmosphere. College students on their kindles and phone, doing what looks to be homework? It's like the people there don't even realize they're in an amusement park.
  10. Maybe it's a Rue 21?
  11. That hasn't stopped them before. A number of the dining options are in close proximity to one another. For example, Coney BBQ isn't too far from a Subway and a Skyline, Tom + Chee is close to Brewhouse and a Chick Fil-A, Chicken Shack is across from Festhaus, which is close to Hank's.
  12. I do think it would be nice for that whole area to be used. Fenced in with a restroom, dining option, a flat, and maybe a gift shop, it could really spice up X-Base.
  13. My earliest memories are riding Smurf's Enchanted Voyage, Scrappy's Slide, Fender Bender 500, Jetson's Jet Orbiters, and I even have a vague recollection of riding Winnie Witch's Cauldron. I remember waiting in line for The Beastie when my dad told me that it not only predated The Beast, but that it used to be called Scooby Doo. I can still remember the thoughts that went through my head. This was here longer than The Beast? Why isn't it still called Scooby Doo? Everything else is Hanna-Barbera. In retrospect, I find it interesting how even then, before I was able to ride it, The Beast had its claws on me. When you were at Kings Island, you were in The Beast's territory. Although at the time, I would have pronounced it "terror-tory." Finally, I remember "The Smurfs' Ride," as I called it then, being the first departure to really hit me. You mean, these things can go away?
  14. My apologies, I should've elaborated a little further with my post. I didn't mean to insinuate there was any discord/dissatisfaction between the Reds and Kings Island. While I waited in line for the Brewhouse on Preview Night, one of the higher ups was there (the assistant chef I believe, according to the bartender that night) mingling with the guests. When the gentleman behind me asked about the change, the higher up mentioned the Reds license was expiring. The impression I got was what you just described. Sometimes licenses run out and companies decide to try something new.
  15. *On Diamondback, two girls spot Jared* "OMG, it's Jared! Hi, Jared!" "Jared, I love you!" Whoever Jared is, he's a popular dude.
  16. I was there for about three hours. Of course, I had to ride WindSeeker. I spotted a "road," which heads towards the pole barn. Was that there before?
  17. From what I understand, that had more to do with the license.
  18. "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
  19. If I were in his place, I'd do the same thing. Better to have fun with the readers than to disperse the usual bland, monotone lawyer-speak ("We have nothing to announce at this time." Snooze.)
  20. He didn't like The Beast, his argument is invalid.
  21. To be fair, he never said nor implied that it was "easy."
  22. I would love for it to be a record-breaker. I want this thing to go as high as it go for as long as it can go. But even if it isn't the tallest, fastest, longest, sexiest rollercoaster, I think it is worth getting excited over. For one thing, it is bringing a new experience to a section of the park that needs some sprucing up. With it hopefully comes some real estate for restrooms, a dining option, and fingers-crossed, maybe someday a flat or dark ride.
  23. If only there were more "fluff" on Son of Beast.
  24. What are the chances that one of the trademarks could be used for next year's Cirque show or something similar?
  25. I can count the number of gigas I've ridden on one finger, and that's Millennium Force. I can no longer afford to travel to the other parks. My last trip to Cedar Point was over a decade ago and my last trip to any park outside KI was Holiday World two or three years ago. I'll probably never experience Fury or Leviathan. So I will be happy if "Project X" is a giga, even if it is only 301ft. I will be happy if it isn't even that. A new experience is enough to excite me. Does that make me less of an enthusiast? Perhaps, but life is too short to care about that.
