  1. They could combine Les Taxi and BLSC into one! You're on a pleasant car ride for most of it, then BOOM, high speed car chase.
  2. I always wonder how many of these accounts are guests making false claims, people who know the legend and putting on vintage-style clothing or costumes to fuel the legends, or genuine people who just wear odd clothing (or spotted by people with foggy descriptions). It can't be that hard to "disappear" into the crowd at KI.
  3. I'm the opposite. I love LaRosas outside the park. It's my favorite pizza place. But inside the park, to me, it doesn't taste as good. Plus, I get an entire pizza outside the park for the price of two slices inside the park. As an even greater plus, I can double that sauce and make it a garlic crust. Nom-nom-nom!
  4. I solo the park often. If it weren't for the fact that I get weak signal at the park, I'd be on it more often. The fun of KI for me isn't really the lines or crowds. That's just a necessary evil I have to deal with to enjoy the rides and theming, so I don't mind burying myself into a screen to ignore the embarrassing things people say and do.
  5. I thought FOF was on ERT at some point last year. I could be wrong.
  6. I would love another flume to go in that spot. I miss Kenton's Cove and it's a shame that it was taken down for something that sadly didn't last very long. A flume also fits the Rivertown theme, better than a dark ride. When I made my comment, I wasn't sure if KI would be willing to do another flume and if that's something the public would want.
  7. I think it would either have to be a dark ride or some sort of water ride. Unfortunately, I don't see the return of Kenton's Cove ever happening. I think another coaster in that spot would be overkill, with The Beast, Diamondback, and Mystic Timbers all in that one spot. So my suggestion would be a dark ride. Perhaps one that is linked to the story of Mystic Timbers and possibly even The Beast. However, if the building continues to sit attraction-less save for Haunt, then my suggestion is to liberally place vines and roots to appear as if that gnarly-looking tree has taken over.
  8. He's just chilling, like he's sitting on a coach and drinking a beer, "hey, how you doin'!"
  9. My biggest votes are for Phantom Theater and Antique Cars. However, I would like to suggest King Cobra for personal reasons. It intimidated me in my younger years and I didn't go to the park often between 1998 and 2007. So I never rode it, which I regret. (Naturally, I didn't get to ride Bavarian Beetle and Screamin' Demon, before they were long gone before I could ride them. If I had a time machine, I'd probably use it to visit the lost rides of Kings Island. )
  10. Bingo. I like the ride alright, but I won't wait in line for it. It has some decent theming, but it belongs in Action Zone. It always has. The Antique Cars, on the other hand, were a great fit, as well as a leisurely ride that was great for families with those who are either too young or have a condition that prevents them from riding most rides.
  11. I really enjoyed hearing "Rhapsody in Blue" last year on International Street. For one, I love that piece. It's incredibly beautiful. But also, it's better than hearing "Pompeii" by Bastille for the 999th time. I believe it's actually a music package, which companies can license to broadcast at their establishments, which is why you often hear the same "meh" songs at supermarkets, fast food joints, and amusement parks. The majority of which are songs I obviously don't like and try to tune out, but at the same time, I'm a film score fan, I really don't expect the park to want to pay to use the music I like. So, here's to "Pompeii" for 999 more times.
  12. This unfortunately has the opposite effect at the park for me.
  13. This makes sense to me. I think people have a habit of reading forum rules and immediately jumping to the most cartoonishly exaggerated worst case scenario with delusions of fascism. If you really think about it, most of them are common sense. Be mindful of others. If it's something you can't say in a public place, don't say it here. I'm assuming the grammar policy either is linked to correct spelling of ride names, trademarks, etc. (IIRC that was a bit of thing a few years) or text-talk (which how much time do you really save spelling "tho" instead of "though" or "ppl" instead of "people?"). Am I mistaken? The moderators don't even have the time to worry about missing comma nor every sentence that incorrectly ends with "to" or "of" and I just don't see anybody getting banned for saying "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less." So this idea that we're being taken advantage of is simply unrealistic.
  14. Or it could be a tobacco shop with fine, Cuban cigars?
  15. Whoah, that would've been great. I'm assuming it was the original 1980 film. Are you talking about just for Fearfest? I could see The Beast and White Water Canyon fitting that, with just some signage, the film score, and perhaps counselor apparel on the employees.
  16. It's a conspiracy, man. They use grammar to get in your head and make you conform to society, man. Next thing you know, you'll have to get a job and pay some bills, man.
  17. Ah, very interesting! Thanks for the info I always wondered if Jason ever entered the park during the Paramount years or if he could at all due to the New Line Pictures/Warner Bros. obtaining the rights to continue the franchise in the 90s. I know Paramount had the rights to the original films and the Friday the 13th name, but I wasn't sure if they still retained the rights to Jason. (This was before both studios came together for the remake and before Warner Bros. had taken over home video distribution for Paramount until last year.)
  18. Time's have changed. We as a culture have gone mobile and through social media, with just one click, we are able to keep up to date on the park's events. People are more informed about preview night now. Also consider that last year debuted Mystic Timbers and that a couple years back, it was on a Thursday.
  19. I think people are just used to the idea of a Gold Pass. It's been around long enough. And everyone knows, "You gotta go Gold!" It's a no brainer. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I can think of a single reason why they should limit its availability at all anymore.
  20. I miss this, as well. Also, I hope they never change the ride's soundtrack. In a way, it's theming. You walk up, and you're in the 70s. I love it!
  21. But they didn't have to pay to use Paramount's IPs before the Viacom/CBS split, right? That wasn't until 2006 and then CBS immediately started to sell Paramount Parks. So that would have only affect CBS and Cedar Fair's tenure at the park. Prior to CBS, they were subsidiaries of Viacom Recreation and before that Blockbuster Entertainment, which was a division of Viacom, who also had control of what was once called Paramount Communications, as well as the IPs they own. So Paramount Parks shouldn't have had to pay to use those IPs during the majority of their lifespan. I believe this would've only been an issue if the IP was something that Paramount distributed/licensed from another company, but didn't produce. I believe Tomb Raider could fall under this since it's an IP that was licensed for a movie. However, I'm pretty sure the ride purely used elements from the movie.
  22. Great article! I wish I got to ride it in its original form. It sounded great. Also, I never knew that Paramount Parks was linked to Blockbuster.
  23. I think the Festhaus could definitely use some more options and a salad bar is an excellent suggestion. I wouldn't mind seeing Tom + Chee and/or Skyline in there. However, I am in love with the Hofbrauhaus idea or something similar to the Taft's Ale House. But at the very least, I would like to see them get some new food options in there somehow.
  24. I could see an Enchanted Voyage that takes you through the various Peanut specials.
