  1. #1The Antique Cars. Others worth mentioning IMO: KCKC Tumblebug Bavarian Beetle Enchanted Voyage Bayern Curve Phantom Theatre Der Spinnin' Keggers
  2. Yes, misting fans please. More shade in queue lines too.
  3. a. Park chains sign such deals, not individual parks that are part of a chain. There would be no advantage for them to do so. b. If a contract had been signed with B & M, Firehawk would certainly have nothing to do with it, being neither B & M nor new.... You got me on the "new" part, but I don't believe that lil lynn's rumor stated anything about all 3 rides having to be B&M. Then what kind of contract could involve more than one company? That just doesn't make sense. If you're going to contract for three rides or coasters, they would be from the same company. Otherwise, if other companies are involved, it would be done on a contract by contract basis. I highly doubt you would have more than one company on the same contract.
  4. No offense to the developers, but you would think that they would know better than to not have all of the permits necessary to go forward with the project.
  5. So true...paranoid America. When I was at Daytona recently with my wife, the place we stayed in had a lot of families there. Granted, there were some just couples, but mostly families. Well, I kinda got the feeling that some were thinking that we were perverts because we were watching children playing, kinda thinking about what it's going to be like next time we're there after our baby is born. Maybe my feeling was wrong, but, usually when I get gut feelings about something, it's usually correct. No one ever said anything, but, some of the looks were...funny...but not funny ha ha. As a matter of fact, some of the pics I took had children in them, but how can that be helped when there's people everywhere.
  6. My first guess: $3.4 million might have something to do with it. That is a BIG undertaking. Nice pics and article Ronnie! Let's just say hurdle after hurdle after hurdle... Sounds like legal issues. I'm sure glad that the monorail has found a new home. Where, exactly, is Jungle Jim's?
  7. Yes, biblically, it is wrong. However, as I stated before, God hates the sin, not the sinner. Let's not allow this to turn into a religious debate. If you don't like it or are indifferent, then why does it even interest you to post in this thread? I would think that this subject would be of no concern to you unless you came in to stir the pot.
  8. From what I have read, InBev has no interest in keeping the amusement parks. Maybe someone else besides CF or SF could buy them.
  9. You are absolutely right, Terpy. Who knows what they would have done to her had her father not stepped in.
  10. I'm highly doubting a new train for Invertigo. What reason is there to change it in the first place? The current train is in pretty good condition. It won't make the ride any better. Not to mention, I'm not sure if the Invertigo track could sport 4 across seating.
  11. Just curious as to why it has taken 15 years to get it up and going? Not bashing, so please don't take it that way.
  12. I would have expected this story to come out of New Jersey. Still, what a senseless thing to do.
  13. WV may need to change, but from what I understand and have seen personally, Ohio is ok. They check at the beginning of a season and have been known to show up unexpectedly throughout the year.
  14. Funny thing is, Woofer, I and several other friends already thought he was before he told me. I just acted "surprised" because for him, it was a revelation.
  15. Heck, I expect to get some parenting advice from some of you more experienced members. Love the slide show.
  16. Hit the nail on the head. I have relatives and friends whom are gay. They are some of my most favorite, kind, non-judgemental folks I've ever had the privelidge of knowing. One of my friends even came out after 20 years. I assured him that nothing was changed other than him finding his true self, which is never a bad thing. Funny that people think you automatically go to hell because you're gay. What I was taught is that God hates the sin, not the sinners.
  17. Wow! That is a serious oversight! No regular maintenance checks?
  18. Of course someone saw them in person. How would this info. have been leaked in the first place had no one seen them in person?
  19. Ummm, raging wolf bobs was re-tracked. It only was SBNO for the last season after the accident. I'm lost on that point.
  20. Sure you do. You tear down parks that don't make money and those that make money, you invest in. Simple...ain't it?
  21. If SF was so successful, why even sell? Looks to me more like SF over-developed, realized what they did way too late, then dumped their troubles on someone else. Would you still be angry had SF just closed GL instead of trying to sell it? The mistake was NOT selling to CF. Many mistakes were made prior to that. So, if you don't scale down GL, then, in your infinite wisdom, what is the answer to bringing in more people through the gates? (a hint: the answer isn't marketing) Remember, CF did not start removing coasters in the first year of the aquisition. CF had to try to rebuild the reputation that SF had ruined.
  22. Well, that absolutely makes sense, then. I did check out rcdb.com and it lists the Big Dipper as being built in 1958. That site is usually correct. Was the predecessor also known as the Big Dipper? Or did it have a different name.
