  1. If you want PKI to get cool new stuff, you'd better hope it's crowded.
  2. It's pretty fun. Unless you work in Action Zone, and get to hear the DOT op's yell at people on the track all day. Just kidding. yuk yuk.
  3. If it rains after about 5, chances are that there'll be nobody there after it clears up.
  4. It's not going to be either of those. It's a new, bigger Jacob's Ladder game. There's another thread about it somewhere, I just can't find it.
  5. Maybe you just didn't get the angle right and so you couldn't see where the lights were coming from.
  6. I would come if they were earlier, but I work at 3 on both days.
  7. I believe the time is a little earlier then that, but I think it's true. You can wait for someone who knows for sure to reply, or call Guest Relations. I talked to someone yesterday who mentioned having tickets for all day the next day, and this was around 7. So I'm not entirely sure how it works.
  8. Some days I wish I had half the privileges of some associates I know...
  9. That makes me want to be a supervisor really bad. I wanted to work in timberwolf today.
  10. I say The Bat because 1) I never got to ride it 2) None of the other choices interest me. So rebuild The Bat, except bank the turns and give it the Top Gun braking system, and you have yourself a true World Class suspended to go along with Top Gun, which is a good ride, in and of itself.
  11. Can't forget the Celtic and Appalachian festivals. I'm sure they generate a fair amount of revenue. Does Coney own Riverbend and thus profit from the concerts there? Just out of curiousity.
  12. Yeah. It's rained 5 days in a row. I worked the first 4, luckily I missed the fifth. All the coasters have lightning rods, at least I thought they did, which would mean that their being steel or wood would have absolutely no bearing on what was struck, just the normal things that cause lightning to strike this rod instead of that one. Those are things I have absolutely no idea about. But SOB has a bunch of lightning rods on it. At least, I think they're lightning rods. Very interesting. Ah well. Bring back the wild animals.
  13. I wanna go in the IR... I've thought about that before. It would be cool as anything. As for the truck thing, there's a million possible explainations, of course the one your mind settles on is the creepiest one, as that is human nature. At least I see it that way.
  14. Unfortunately, I don't forsee the park adding anything great either. The Pepsi Python looks like a carnival coaster, like it could be packed up and moved on a moment's notice. Unfortunately, it probably could. Coney is beautiful, but I don't think it can be restored to it's original glory. Location is bad due to floods, so a new ride would be questionable, seeing as how it may have trouble holding up to the water. Plus, I doubt the park has the capital necessary to purchase and maintain a quality ride. It almost makes me wish a major chain would purchase Coney, although I don't see that happening. It has next to no land when you factor out River Downs and Riverbend, and has become more of a fairground. The only reason it stays open is because of Sunlite Pool. Still, it's great to go and visit, ride the paddleboats, see Moonlite Gardens and all of the old markers. I really do enjoy Old Coney. Maybe someday someone will fix it up. If I won the lottery, I would.
  15. Believing that PKI was haunted would involve believing in ghosts. Ghosts are false. Until someone proves otherwise (which they can't), I think everything you see and or feel is a figment of your imagination, something that you force yourself to believe is there when it is actually not. That's why nobody's actually been killed by any of these spirits, or creepy monsters and the like. Because they don't exist.
  16. check out this site. VR Cincinnati. Scroll down, and there's Panoramic pictures of PKI. You can see Action Zone in 1999, pre-SOB. It's so cool. Check it out.
  17. Should't you be at work right now? Thought you worked at PKI. Could be an inside joke, but in case you're serious... Associates do have off days. And clearly we can't all be off on the same days, so they would be scattered throughout the week. Which they are. For example, today is my off day.
  18. Have you lost it? Coney Island has been around longer than PKI has. It all honsesty, considering they only have one coaster, the python isn't that bad of a ride, since it is geared towards kids. I would expect to see Coney grow some more in coming years and maybe add another coaster. I love Coney. I never said anything bad about the park, just that that coaster sucks, which, by all accounts, it does. I think Coney is awesome and it would be so cool if it were restored to its old glory. However, I think Kings Island will always dwarf Coney.
  19. Back to the problems. TG was closed all day saturday and sunday, and it couldn't have been due to understaffing, as both were anticipated to be high attendance days. Clearly there must have been something wrong, especially to shut it down on two days when they were expecting a lot of people.
  20. Delirium hasn't been cloned, but there is a ride named Delirium that is similar at another Paramount Park. SDATHC is completely unique to PKI... Almost every PP has a Scooby Darkride, but ours, for one, is different. Vortex is completely unique. There is a Stand up looper at another PP called Vortex. Our Flight of Fear was built at the exact same time as PKD's, and they are identical to the best of my knowledge. The only clone of Racer is Recar. Tomb Raider is not yet cloned, I think we still have the only GTS. I could go on and on. Also, Drop Zone and Face Off were not firsts. There were plenty of Vekoma Invertigos and Intamin Drop Towers before they were built.
  21. There's always only been one.
  22. 37,000 That's not what I heard. You heard wrong then.
  23. Days of Thunder was clearly the best film ever in that theater. Clearly. What could be better than the showcars, back before they were parked in the PKIU/Maintanace parking lot (next to the third SOB train, BTW). And Kyle Petty telling you about the ride. Awesome, I tell you what. Nothing rivals that. Not even the Motorcycle and Q telling you what you'll be doing.
  24. The best part of DOT was after they put the checkered flag over your windshield, when the seat jerked. I think it did anyway. It caught everyone off guard. We should start a campaign to bring back DOT. Anything to kill of Spongebob.
  25. Correction, Nights of Fire will be from the normal fireworks launch area, behind Tomb Raider and from multiple levels of the Eifel Tower. It is truely an amazing show to watch. I'll be perched yet again above the crowds on the 4th and 5th watching and capturing the show. Expect to see some more fireworks pictures in the next week. You should take some pictures of their set up during the day. I was checking it out today.... It looks pretty cool. It's like there's mini-cannons sticking out the sides of the tower... Tre cool.
