They didn’t buy something at a yard sale without having a plan for what they were going to do with it, not knowing what extra costs they might incur, not knowing if they could even install it in a park. They want the chatter it’s generating. It takes the focus off the negative news cycle they’ve been in.

Math.

The former Fun Spot America Atlanta is heading to the auction block. After permanently closing to guests on Aug. 2, the Fayetteville, Georgia, amusement park will have its equipment and assets offered through an online auction Oct. 14. The sale is expected to include rides, games, food and beverage equipment, maintenance tools, furnishings and other items from the park. Prospective buyers will also be able to schedule appointments to inspect equipment at the former park before bidding. An official auction catalog with available items, registration details and removal terms will be released ahead of the sale.

They current have a world class RMC. They may opt to swap that out for one that significantly reduces the maintenance cost. Laugh if you want but we’re living in a world where they’re looking to cut costs and save money. They are down in attendance. Fact. Not opinion.

If they wanted to keep the layout of the ride the same, Action Zone is the best location for ArieForce One. Is this ride worth removing Congo Falls and TimberWolf for? If not, then it fits in between The Bat and Banshee running out into areas once occupied by Son of Beast. I’d put Six Flags Over Texas, Carowinds and Six Flags Over Georgia right there with Kings Island as the favorites to get it. And don’t sleep on Cedar Point. They have resort rooms they need to fill. Of all the parks in the chain, Cedar Point is the one park you need to keep adding something new or unlike Kings Island, they don’t come.

You neglect to mention all the highly positive things I’ve said, the highly positive stories I’ve written since leaving my position. But that wouldn’t fit your narrative, would it?

It shouldn’t be this hard. They need to put themselves in the shoes of the guest before rolling things out. They’d eliminate a lot of the questions, confusion, frustrations if they did.

When you pay for something and not getting what you paid for, that’s not minuscule stuff. One or two times out of ice or product? OK. It happens. Every day? That’s the issue. They’ve already got your money so it’s not a priority. It impacts the guest experience and plays into the decision to renew passes. Some here can turn their cheek the other way and pretend the problems don’t exist. For me, if they can’t deliver what I paid for, I stop paying for it.

If you don’t like hearing about no ice on repeat, maybe the park should fix the problem. 🤣

People are going to think what they want, so you decide.

The announcement didn’t turn heads across the amusement industry and reinforce Six Flags’ position as the home of world-class thrills. But it did give people something positive to talk about with the company.

Communication is key.

They know where it’s going. Delaying saying where it’s going keeps people talking about this instead of the issues they’ve experienced at the parks this year.

I wouldn’t say it would be redundant at Cedar Point. Was Mystic Timbers when Kings Island already had The Beast and The Racer?

I’m not posting about the same thing every day.

Let’s spend the next several months speculating about the same thing every day while we wait on Six Flags to announce what they’ve already decided.

At 12:01 they’ll announce an extension.

The drink system works well at the Herschend parks. I’d love to see KI and other Six Flags parks do something similar.

I haven’t renewed my season pass, dining plan or drink plan for 2027.

I’d be more inclined to renew my pass if they announced they were committed to keeping the drink refill stations stocked with ice and were upgrading the technology at the turnstiles to get guests in quicker like other parks have done.

I’d much rather have ice for my drinks when I use the drink plan I paid for.

Camden Park the only park not rumored.
