Board to Death. There are a couple noisy areas that may cause you a bit of a startle, but it is much less intense than some of the others. Also, Slaughterhouse scareactors seem to go more for generally creepy rather than making you jump. One to definitely avoid would be CarnEvil. It is one of my favorites because of the old-school funhouse elements, but there are a LOT of noisy drop-windows in there, that occasionally get me and I have a really strong startle resistance.

I don't notice FunTV. Too busy on my phone. Really, I'm a lot like @whengodsaysgo. I like having my phone to keep in contact with my husband and other friends to some extent while I'm at the park solo (and occasionally use it to meet up with friends at the park). I like having it for entertainment and information while in lines (although I'm spoiled by being able to go weekdays and rarely will wait for more than ten minutes for anything, I'd rather get in more steps than stand around). But, actually, I often go well over an hour without even glancing at it when I'm in the park, because I'm paying attention to what is going on around me. I'm more engaged with my surroundings solo (with a phone) than I am when I'm with friends. When I'm with friends, we do tend to check our phones but often that results in topics for gossip or other conversation. It's not like we're ignoring each other because of it.

I was hoping hot cider would also be an option, but I agree that it is tempting just for the mug.
-
It hadn't even occurred to me that people might think they would link with current drink plans. It was pretty clear to me it is a separate purchase, at a very reasonable price IMHO.
-
It was speculated that a souvenir mug for hot chocolate would be coming, and it has now been added to the website. Very exciting!

I don't think it is yet clear where the Mac&cheese bar (Classic Christmas Cafe) is going to be...

Yeah, when I saw it today, my impression was they will be reusing the steel structure although the rest looks like it is going to be torn out. We'll soon see, I guess. I kind of get the feeling that they originally intended to use more of the structure, and have it finished sooner. Then when they got into it, it wasn't as structurally sound as they hoped. That's just impressions tho, nothing I've heard.

GM - Mike Koontz interview
Magenta Lizard replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Man, I'm already hungry for that buffet in the International Restaurant. I was surprised it hasn't been finalized whether it will or will not be on Dining/an upcharge. Whichever way they go, I will partake at least once. I am definitely willing to pay full price once or twice just to be able to sit in the International Restaurant again. Of course if they include it on dining or it's a small upcharge, I'll probably be up there every visit! -
Pop music back on International Street
Magenta Lizard replied to BlondyRidesOn's topic in Kings Island
I haven't had a chance to watch that interview yet, but it's funny because I was going to stop and ask about/compliment the instrumental music when I saw Mr. Koontz was standing at the exit of Mystic Timbers as I entered the shed. I decided not to wait because Brad was conducting that interview by the time I got down there Really glad I didn't "bug" him now. (edit: now that I've watched it, you can see me walk past in the background just before he mentions it's the first time KI won the best new ride Golden Ticket) Today they seemed to have the special Pumpkin Fest playlist playing park-wide. Last Sunday I think it was only in Planet Snoopy and Soak City. I really liked being able to hear it everywhere: there is a much wider variety of styles/eras of music on that list than ordinarily play in the park. -
I believe you are referring to the "Mouse Trap" room

Blood Drums Facebook Interview on 10/8/17
Magenta Lizard replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
After seeing it last night, I'm curious why the one drummer cut his hair short! I thought they got a new drummer for a moment because he looked so different -
I wanted to note that Garbanzo's (correct?) cannon is in Madame Fatale's. I noticed it last night.

I noticed as I was leaving on Sunday that a couple of the displays in the center front of the store that had not been changed over yet when I went Friday, were completely bare. I think about the only thing they are keeping from their former merchandise displayed is the Kings Island hoodies (2 for $60, good deal!)

I think it looks like one hole, although it may be debris on top. It certainly looks like it goes into the roof in that pic, though. I think what looks like cracks, though, is decayed leaves and other dirt collecting along intentional triangles built into the edges of the structure (you can also see them along the other side of the roof, but less dirt is collected there). I've been wondering if they are actually planning to use the part of the structure (mostly roof) that still remains, or if they're just leaving it there to block view of the construction from above.

Yeah, I saw you too, but you looked like you were with somebody and I didn't want you to have to explain why a weird old woman was shouting your name across the tent I didn't even see the other two until later in the evening.

There's a very large Christmas tree near Diamondback nearly finished (missing its very top). I believe this must be the one they'd been building on the Timberwolf stage if anyone else saw that from Drop Tower too. Lotsapalooza (the first shop on the right of the fountains after you enter the park) has already started transforming as well I really like these little brass ornaments

Funny, I'm kind of crossing my fingers for Dub and his fiancé at this point I would absolutely love to win, but Jim is less enthusiastic about it. And there's something about that that certainly doesn't feel right. We've waited almost 20 years so far to get married, I can wait longer for something we both are excited about! (but I better be invited up to the reception if it's in the International Restaurant )

I would assume that is how they'll fix it. Just an oversight. It does make me wonder about last year. I know that until a few weeks into this season, dining plans could be used even if the owner hadn't entered the turnstiles. So that is why this "kicking out" was first noticed Friday night. However, I wonder if the plan was used after midnight last year, if the meal counted off the new day? I'm fairly sure I used my plan after midnight Friday on some occasions, but I never go on Saturdays so I wouldn't have noticed if it counted against Saturday instead of Friday.

Heh, I thought that was a pic of CPW/Attitudes until I looked closer. Well played King Ding Dong!

As much as Surf Dog does I suppose. The manufacturer claims it is one. I think it looks like an interesting enough flat ride. I think it is more likely that reporter got his wires crossed (about what project at KI the manufacturer was involved with) than I believe that this is actually planned for KI next year. But, if it is, I wonder where it would go? In part of Dinos? Off of X-Base? Around Flight Commander's unused pad?

A handful of locations are open until the park closes at 1, most close at midnight. I'm fairly certain International Street Skyline and LaRosas are open until 1, and I know Chick-Fil-A was last Friday. There was a small problem with the dining plans last week, where the computer system basically "kicked out" all of the season passes at Midnight. I was unable to use it at Chick-fil-A when I went about 12:40, although if I had been willing to go to Guest Services first, they could have re activated my plan for the new day from what I was told. I wasn't willing to do the extra walking at that point, nor did I want to punish the employees by showing back up to use my plan just before they closed at 1. Fortunately the drink plan still did work after midnight without doing anything special. The nice young woman at Chick-fil-A thought there was a good chance the problem would be fixed by this week, but I wanted people to be forewarned to stop by guest services if it is on your way to picking up food between midnight and 1, just in case.

Closure of Dinosaurs Alive and opening of lots of land.
Magenta Lizard replied to upstop's topic in Kings Island
All of them. The ones that annoy me the most are the ones just inside and outside the gates. When everybody is leaving, they can get pretty backed up when the park chooses to close off half their capacity. -
^I had been counting on one, so I was disappointed when I saw the calendar. Fingers crossed we'll eventually get a NYE event at Kings Island
