  1. I believe I heard the snow tubing will be in Action Zone, but I didn't follow-up question how it would be handled/ where exactly. I figured with just a month left, I'd see soon enough!
  2. I did notice the last handful of times I rode this year that when I would shoot a target, often it would respond in the way it always does when hit (light goes off, it moves however is usual for that target) but my score wouldn't go up. My gun was working but something was wrong in the system. I rode enough earlier in the season to know what was a typical score for me, that decreased by about a third on average after whatever changed and I noticed hit targets not scoring. I really hope it gets some love if it isn't going to be replaced.
  3. Off-season depression is definitely a thing for me. I discovered last year that it's a little easier if I go out and walk at a nearby park every day, because, being a housewife, it can be too easy for me to go into hibernation and only leave the house once a week or so. Having friends on the boards and elsewhere to talk to also make it easier to take. I'm glad the off-season will be shorter this year.
  4. It doesn't do anything for Tapatalk, just alerts in the notifications list of the site itself every time someone reacts to a post. I had to turn it off because it became obtrusive for me. Tapatalk doesn't seem to understand the new reaction bar as being "likes" for the way it does things. I just noticed that if I go to my own profile there is a listing of reactions and mentions that is formatted enough like the notifications list used to work on Tapatalk that it suits me to just look at that instead. Since I can easily add pictures directly through the forum software too now and that was the initial reason I used Tapatalk, I think I can personally stop using Tapatalk in conjunction with KIC entirely now.
  5. ^I would like the same. It went away when the switch was made to multiple choices for us to "react" to a post. I find the multiple reactions cute, but I rarely find myself using something other than the heart.
  6. I don't tend to listen to podcasts, in part because I don't process auditory information nearly as well as I do text, although I'm trying to work on it. I would definitely listen to one if KIC put it out, though. It seems to me that it would be a fair amount of work, though, so it would really require someone with a passion for it to make it happen. Now that you aren't the one "running the show" here, maybe you could carve out the time to be able to make a go of it? I know you have more going on in your life otherwise. But I also know your passion for KIC and KI in general, and that you have some prior experience with similar things. I can't think of a better person to spearhead such a project.
  7. @pianolover2 I highly suspect you are talking about "The Cat From Hell Suite" (by Chaz Jankle) from Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. I have no idea how I missed out on this movie when it came out, because I had loved the anthology series on TV when I was a girl, but I was able to watch it soon after I learned of its existence a couple years ago. In the middle of watching The Cat from Hell, I nearly choked and shouted "that's it!" I had always wondered where that particular music from Haunt came from, too, because I recognize which movies provide most of the other themes they play. It was really weird to have run into it suddenly and randomly. There is a recording on YouTube of the entire soundtrack, but I'll try to find one that features just the Cat track, or at least give you a time when it comes in, so you can see if that's it. If it's not I'll be very surprised tho. Edit: ok, it's from about 19 minutes in, through the 30 minute mark, of this video:
  8. Presumably, yeah, just thought it merited a mention. If I'd seen it before the break until Winterfest, I'd float the notion it might be a good place to make that 2018 Announcement that still hasn't happened yet
  9. We had gone on all the major rides that were part of ERT, and just decided on the way out to hit up Woodstock Express. It may have actually been two years ago, when I've thought about it more. I'm not sure. But, I wasn't able to make it a tradition because the ride never got running today at all. So I ultimately closed my regular season on Diamondback. I probably should have done Mystic Timbers because that's how I started my season, but I guess I'll save that for closing out 2017 for good.
  10. I can draw the conclusion they aren't reusing the old Attitudes building. Other than that I'm still open. There's a stage at the end of the Coney Skyline table area tho
  11. Yeah, if you're willing to stick it out, the rewards are definitely going to be good. It's hard for me to say no to going tonight, too, because I imagine the park will be nearly empty. I've been to every Haunt Friday so far, though, so I'm willing to give up tonight because I know it will be too cold for me. It still beckons. Maybe I'll throw on my (insulated, water resistant) ski pants and head down later if it looks like the rain is going to be light
  12. Last year, I closed out on Woodstock Express. It was fun! I may do that again.
  13. It depends on your cold tolerance and what kinds of rain gear you have available. Also, on how much rain comes down once it is raining. The forecast looks like there will definitely be some sort of precipitation most of the evening and night. I've decided to skip it personally, because I can only tolerate cold or rain, but not when it is both at the same time.
  14. Oh my goodness, is Coasterstock worth it! I go to KI over 50 times a season (usually staying open until close), and have also been to every Coasterstock, and I start looking forward to the next one as soon as one ends. It is a fantastic event!
  15. I believe GOCC are accepted at both Coasterstock and Coastermania, and they are only $25 for a couple membership, $30 for family (up to 6). Exceedingly reasonable for your first foray into a coaster club, and like I said, I've heard good things. Seeing a single membership is only $20, I think I'm going to go ahead and join them myself. Never hurts to support these orgs.
  16. I originally joined Coaster Crew just so I could go to the first Coasterstock, because they were the least expensive option at that time. Since then, I have enjoyed being a member, and I have continued to participate in some of their other events and keep renewing each year. They are a very friendly club, and, I think in part because of their smaller size, they are very responsive to individual members. I am very happy it was the first coaster club I joined, and I can recommend it. ACE is among the oldest (if not the oldest of the) clubs, so it has the benefits of being well-established. I have occasionally heard complaints about the elitist attitude of some of its members, and encountered some small difficulties in that vein myself. However, if you want a club that is going to be invited or welcomed to the most events, it is definitely the one to join. I recently joined it in addition to Coaster Crew. I hear good things about GOCC, and I keep an eye on their Facebook. I will probably eventually join them as well.
  17. I'm pretty sure Skeleton Key and Blackout both came in 2015. So it's just a reference to it being a shot glass based on a vampire maze.
  18. I'll definitely be there Friday and Sunday barring unforeseen circumstances. I'm really hoping the colder, potentially drizzly weather keeps the crowds down, and if so, I'm probably going Saturday too. They're calling, right now, for a high of 46 that day. Finally I can break out my silly bear hat and hand warmers. It looks to me like there's even the possibility of seeing some snowflakes, which would be a good lead into Winterfest. I'd love to meet you, and I always enjoy spending some time with jtro if that works out too.
  19. I feel like this year, Red has been fairly evenly rough and bouncy, overall more rough than the other side. However, Blue has one specific spot (second to last dip before the turnaround) that is so rough that I felt like it was going to break my back a couple times, even though I was riding in a non-wheel seat. New restaurant or whatever else is happening behind that fence, it looks like at least part of Coney is going to be getting some love, and I for one hope Racer is included.
  20. Thanks I definitely don't know anything for sure, I make educated guesses from my own observations (and I get to go to the park a lot, so I can often observe things first-hand). I've pretty much stopped asking the contacts I have who might be able to tell me (off the record) about things that are happening in the park, because I would much rather participate in the speculation than have inside info I wouldn't be able to share anyway. I have zero interest in teasing others with some suggestion I might know something but won't tell. Observationally, today, I saw that in the increasingly bare area behind the fence there is an orderly pile of steel that appears to be what was left of the roof and support structure, next to what looked to me to be some sort of large pump or valve that may have been part of the fire suppression system (I believe it was painted red in part which was what gave me that idea, but I forgot to take pictures, like a dummy), a dumpster, and a backhoe. A friend who was also looking pointed out they have also been tearing up some of the concrete, but in straight lines, and he speculated it was to put in plumbing.
  21. Possibly just isn't high priority for them at the moment.
  22. I'm curious to see the state of things in Coney Mall tonight after they've had another week to work. I'm betting on the steel framing still being there because I expect they want to reuse it if possible for the presumed new restaurant.
  23. A racing carousel. Don't think CP will give up Cedar Downs tho.
  24. They probably will stop some of the activities in the rain (like the foam booth), however I trust they would open everything back up once the rain has stopped.
