  1. From that first video: "You're single, obviously?" Ouch, man. Ouch. Listening to those interviews, though, it's pretty amazing how little things have changed in the heart of coaster enthusiasts over nearly 40 years. For me, it's sharing my pics over social media that helps get me through the off-season.
  2. I'd say there's a chance, since Mystic Timbers has completed construction. However, it sounds like they were already marking out for Winterfest stuff along the route, so they may not run it so they have more time to prep for that. While I wasn't satisfied with how Tombstone Terror-tory was implemented when I went through, I think there is a lot of potential for using the trains during Haunt. And welcome to KIC!
  3. To keep me busy during these long weeks of no weekdays and a couple weeks of KI being closed entirely, I've started another twitter countdown, to Haunt. It started today: I'll be sharing a pic or other small bit of info everyday. Hope people enjoy it!
  4. For me, Haunt. I have always loved spooky things, and I like being able to go to the park when it is cooler, and wear hats and coats and stuff but still have all the rides open. I've only been to Winterfest once, in the 90s, and it was a bit of a disappointment to me because there were so few things to ride. I know I will enjoy Winterfest this year (it's much better than not being able to go to the park at all those months), but I don't think it will be nearly as entertaining for me personally as Haunt. It is going to be great for kids, though, I'm sure!
  5. So what size is it, how much, and what location?
  6. ^heck yes! I love when there is someone actually on one of the rafts going by when I speed past them, so I can wave at them! Although, usually, I ride either during ERT, when WWC hasn't yet started up for the day, or at the end of the night. But it is really cool when I can interact with WWC from MT.
  7. Neither have I and I hope they don't sell so many of these that it changes.
  8. I hope so. I would be totally ok with that number. Its enough to sort of prime the pump and maybe convince others to buy single day Fast Lane on busy days, but not so many that it will become "necessary" to buy one or wait extensively for marathoners every visit. I want KI to be profitable, and I don't want them to sort of kill the cash cow when it comes to Fast Lane. As I think I've mentioned in other threads, they are selling a privilege that costs them extremely minimal amounts (a little employee time) for fairly big $. Each Fast Lane Plus costs nearly as much as my Gold Pass. I feel like waiting for FLs to go first subsidizes my ability to be at the park as often as I am for a very economical price, so I don't begrudge it. But if KI starts selling too many because they've knocked the price way down, the value goes way down for both the purchaser and the park. Anyone who doesn't have it is going to feel left in the cold and probably won't come back (including people who paid half the price of a season pass for their single day tickets!)
  9. Don did an Instagram live video from Dinos Alive and mentioned in it that the announcement date is as yet to be determined.
  10. I'm hoping they are fairly limited in the number they sell. I also tend to try to avoid crowded days, so even though I'm at the park a LOT, I don't think this would necessarily be worth it for me. Some part of me still WANTS it though! On the occasions when I've redeemed my free Fast Lanes from renewal, I've noticed that they often don't seem to care who they go onto (usually, I have been handed the band and had to put it on myself). I worry that some unscrupulous people may buy one of these just to resell their daily bands for less than face value. Kings Island is going to need to be /very/ vigilant to prevent this, assuming they don't intend for the FLs to be transferable.
  11. "John Voigt of Cincinnati, OH scored the one millionth ride on the new Mystic Timbers roller coaster this evening. He was awarded a souvenir piece of wood from the ride, tote bag, front of the line passes, tickets to Halloween Haunt and a large sign proclaiming him as the coaster’s one millionth rider." -KI's Facebook post about it
  12. So, are there any signs up about an announcement today? Due to minor illness, I don't feel up to three days in the park in a row this week, so I skipped today in favor of the days when I could watch Origins and hang out with friends. I don't like missing NRCD or the possible announcement, but it was probably the right thing to do.
  13. Yesterday evening, she gave her 1 millionth ride, to John Voigt. I got there as soon as I could after hearing it was close... Still had an excellent ride!
  14. I walked all the way over and across Soak City solely for the draw of smoked turkey four times this last week, and I don't think having it nearby would make it less "special" to me. I know it's getting pretty close, but if they could have it open by Haunt that would be awesome
  15. ^see the previous page/ week of discussion
  16. Ed Alonzo shared a Facebook memory about having done a show at Worlds of Fun during their Haunt, and it started me thinking... Since it looks unlikely that Skeleton Crew is returning, I'm going to hold out hope for Ed.
  17. The ones I Shazaamed were: Harem (Cancao Do Mar) by Sarah Brightman, which plays during the contortionist act Dragula (Si Non Oscillas, Noli Tintinnare mix) by Rob Zombie Dark Chest of Wonders by Nightwish
  18. I noticed a confirm dialog has been added when clicking the icon to mark a whole forum read. Even though I actually did mean to mark read this time, most of the times I've done it as an accident so I really appreciate the addition!
  19. I know I heard that "all" the Cedar Fair parks are supposed to make announcements this Wednesday, National Roller Coaster Day. However, I haven't heard any specifics for KI. Has anyone else here heard an approximate time or location?
  20. An alien. He's been hanging around all season in different places, but the current one looks semi-permanent, with his own spotlight
  21. For the moment there's a new guest in the brake run of Flight of Fear
  22. As a single rider, I often end up talking to random people at the park. A lot of times it turns out to be a coaster enthusiast visiting from out of the area. Almost always, they mention either having gone to Cedar Point in the previous days, or intention to go in the next ones. There is a symbiotic relationship between the two parks. They don't really compete on large populations of local visitors, but are close enough to each other for a lot of people to consider "both" as the answer to the question "Cedar Point or Kings Island?" when considering a trip to the area. So, if there is any sort of idea of "we mustn't compete with the flagship park" within Cedar Fair, I don't think it is warranted. The coaster offerings are diverse enough that even if something big comes to Kings Island, it will draw people to Cedar Point too, not away from it.
  23. That would seem to be way more room than they'd need for another Smokehouse.
  24. ^well the message immediately before going into the shed is "go in the shed, go in the shed, go in the shed", so there's that...
