Ohio State Fair Ride Malfunction (1 Death and critical injuries)
Different stresses, different steel (there are an extraordinary number of types of steel and each has its own benefits and drawbacks), different maintenance.

Steel Vengeance to open in 2018 at Cedar Point
Wonder if the full poster for Chess will appear this week. Anyone else here enter the contest to be at the pre-announcement? I'm keeping my fingers crossed but with CP as popular as it is, there are probably hundreds of entries and I don't think I'm even 50th best out of that many. It will be the first time I go to CP in about ten years if I do win tho.

Do You Collect Park Maps?
I actually discussed this with James Moreland (area head of merchandise and warehousing at KI) because I noticed an old map on the wall behind him during his recent video interview. (https://kingsisland.cfauthx.com/blog/2017/july/a-kings-island-life-james-moreland) He understands the desire of us super-fans to have one, but when they have printed the poster-sized maps in the past they just didn't sell well, so there are no plans to bring any in anytime soon. He did mention the possibility of selling some for the 50th celebration. However, he seemed a little more excited about the idea of printing a poster-sized version of the original 1972 map. No plans for those either, at the moment, but I think it might make more financial sense for the park to try those to test interest, since they could continue to sell the stock for multiple years (unlike a current map which will change every couple years or less and be outdated). So the door isn't completely closed on the idea, but don't look too hard to see any in the shops this season.

Winterfest Returning in 2017
They've started adding more things to the park to advertise Winterfest gift boxes in Planet Snoopy And signs in Rivertown and Action Zone (I forgot to check closer to see if the Action Zone ones were duplicates or different)

What could 2018 bring KI
That Screamscape rumor seems to be an attempt to explain what is going on with Tower Gardens. Interesting if true, but I'd still lean toward it being either general maintenance, Haunt, or most likely Winterfest related

Don OUT as PR
I'm really sorry to hear about this. Few times have I known someone to embody a role quite as well as Don Helbig has done as the public face of Kings Island. Whoever will be the new PR Manager is going to have some big shoes to fill. I am glad to hear he won't be leaving the organization entirely. Best wishes in your new position, Don!

Kings Island policy on epi-piens?
As a medical device, I'm not sure they would even be allowed to ban them under the ADA.

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread
The KI app just updated and it says that ride wait times have been made more prominent. So hopefully that means they'll be back for people like me who had them entirely disappear. Won't be able to try it out personally until tomorrow.

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread
They had some pipes laying near where they were digging, that appeared to possibly be for electrical conduit? They seemed too narrow to be useful as water pipes for most applications.

Steel Vengeance to open in 2018 at Cedar Point
The announcement cards show that the three outlaws are named "Blackjack", "Chess", and "Digger". Digger is the one I mentioned looks like he's wearing a mech suit. Chess is the woman.

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread
I have been finally picking up on the excitement about Cedar Point's announcement on August 16th, and now I'm starting to wonder if Kings Island will be making an official announcement about next year around that time too?

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
I feel like I have had a pretty even distribution of songs throughout all my rides this season. However, it also seems like I will hit the same one more than the others over my rides within a day or week, before changing to a different one. Riding at the end of the night a couple times, when the train I was on was held in the shed while the ride ops locked all the belts on the previous (now empty) train, I discovered what happens when you're in there long enough for an entire song to play. There is a "winding down" sound, a pause, and then it starts back up again!

Steel Vengeance to open in 2018 at Cedar Point
^1000 is 125 over 875 I find it interesting that the guy on the left wanted poster appears to be wearing a (probably steam-punky) mech suit. I'm looking forward to seeing these characters in non-silhouette form.

Halloween Haunt 2017
They have a week longer break to do the changeover between Haunt and Winterfest than there is between regular season and Haunt. And there aren't (apparently) any private events to prevent work on the weekends. On the other hand, weather is more likely to cause trouble in November, and they might not do as much of the work prior to the break as they tend to do on Haunt before the break. I'm also interested to see the logistics and extent of each seasonal event this year! I'm fully confident in the ability of the park to put on two wonderful events! Can't wait!

Theming rundown
^^Yeah, when I went to look at the post in Tapatalk, it showed a little pic of a lock and told me I didn't have permission if I clicked on it. So I added the second pic through Tapatalk, and once it posted it showed me both pics! :-/ I just left it in case somebody else encountered the issue.

Theming rundown
It's always nice to see Adventure Express getting a little love! They've spelled out the ride name in rocks alongside the queue line! This is to the right when you enter the covered part of the queue, before it bends off to the left. For those on Tapatalk who can't see the image:

Boo Blaster high scores
My high score this season (probably my all-time high) is 5160. Had a ride stoppage to contribute to that, though! On other occasions this season I've gotten 1800 and 1860, I'm pretty sure those were without the ride stopping at all.

Digital Signage Today : KI Interactive Map Video
Probably becoming screen-blind from overexposure. The maps are still around, I actually used one last week, although I forget why now...

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
Maybe the teaser video was done by a different creative company than the shed was? Tree-gor (pronounced like Igor, my name for the creature) does send vines into the doors of the shed to rip them open though.

The Giga Speculation Thread
Personally I think 2019 is when we're going to start seeing teasing, for a giga to open in 2020.

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
I had friends recently say they rode something like 11 times and never got to see the tree, on the same day I rode three times and got the tree twice. I had been under the impression they increased the tree frequency because I've gotten it so often lately! I would have to say over the entire season so far, I've gotten bats more often than the others.

Ultimate Stunt Show Coming to Kings Island
I can not wait for this show! My only question is: will I be happy seeing only one showing each day I visit the park or am I going to need to exchange my 5:00 Origins shows for USS? Considering I still get anxious during Origins' Rola Bola act even though I have seen it over 40 times, I may find one show of USS a day is all my nerves can take!

Classic Fun in the Sun
Punctuation is key. I believe it meant: "How was the event? I thought Coney would announce a new coaster (at the event), but that was wishful thinking." In answer, I know some attendees suggested it! But no new coaster is currently planned.

Fireworks Soundtrack
Actually I said it made me feel stabby. As I said afterward, I'd rather listen to the William Shatner cover of Rocket Man than that nasally atrocity!
