  1. Same here. I rode it recently without any headbanging, and I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to headbanging. Rougarou, however... X_X
  2. https://twitter.com/BuschGardens/status/646348905077174272 Track arriving at the park today! I love this color. I'm actually wearing this color shirt today, oddly enough.
  3. ^ Something tells me either something really cool, or really sad is going to happen in the near future.
  4. Yahoo also had an article that kept calling it "Valravn Birdseye".... *sigh* They thought the coaster's name was Valravn Birdseye because of a video title from youtube.
  5. Gemini, by far. Part of that has to do with the shorter lines, but mostly it's because it's my favorite coaster. Every time I go to Cedar Point I spend much of the evening on a Gemini marathon.
  6. ^^ Spending the extra time isn't worth possibly saving someone from losing an eye, or getting a serious head injury, etc.? Or protecting the park from being sued for a WHOLE lot of money because some random guest didn't obey the rules? (And let's face it, they're going to go after whomever has the deeper pockets.) Honestly if they'd make an example of a few people and ban them, and as NoChickens said, put up a sign saying "x amount of people have been banned this season from the park for on ride device usage" you'd see a heck of a lot less of it the following season. People need to start taking it seriously. Or bring on the metal detectors. Better to invest that money now than pay for a law suit AND the metal detectors later. *shrug*
  7. ^ Or 1,732 miles. It took me 4 years and 4 park visits to finally get a ride on a WindSeeker. And even then I've never had a night ride. Reliability is a VERY good thing.
  8. So wait, is it only gonna be 8 seats, 1 row per car, like in the picture? I wonder what capacity will be like?
  9. The blue supports make me happy. Better color scheme than I expected. Looks like this will be a beautiful addition to the park and I can't wait to ride it!!!
  10. I could ride Sheikra all day long, assuming it's not miserably hot outside.
  11. I used to go there every couple weeks for a slice of pie or hot fudge cake. They have great desserts. I had their fish once too, and it was pretty good.
  12. I forgot I haven't been to the park since before Banshee was built (2012 doesn't feel that long ago), so I bet the atmosphere has changed a lot!
  13. “When you get to the park and you see that coaster, you can’t help but think you’re in for a good day.” This is exactly how I feel entering Cedar Point too. Used to be the thrills were a bit further out in the distance, but at CP it's right up front, and as you're waiting outside the gates it builds a lot of anticipation and excitement. You're seeing the beauty of the coaster, hearing the sounds, and seeing the people having a blast. It makes for such a great atmosphere and a great start to the day. Kings Island's entrance is beautiful as is. It has kind of a more relaxed feel to it. Like "home" I guess is the best way to put it.
  14. Whenever I see the logo I think of, oddly enough, the Cheshire Cat.
  15. When I was planning my wedding years and years ago, I had my heart set on Coney Island's Moonlite Gardens. Even though I hadn't been to Coney Island before, I saw the venue online and thought it was absolutely stunning. We ended up deciding on a winter wedding at a state park. Winter is more my personality and we had a nice light snowfall. Plus, money-wise, it was a fantastic deal for all we got. Coney Island is something to consider if Kings Island doesn't work out! Truly beautiful venue. http://coneyislandpark.com/private-parties-and-weddings
  16. Right now I'm in the middle of two games, depending on my mood. Pokémon Black and Pokémon Diamond. I've beaten all the gym leaders and the league, but I pick them up again once in a while to do all the other stuff in the game. Before those, the last ones I'd played were Silver and Crystal. Pretty sure I missed a lot of stuff in between. Edit to add: LOVE that idea! Kind of like a nostalgic Cracker Barrel!
  17. Stonyfield is a really good brand. I'll see if I can find it!
  18. Buzzfeed already has 2000's nostalgia posts. I was born riiiight at the end of 89. The 90s were my kid years, and the 2000's were my teen years, though in my teen years I was really disconnected from trends and such, I was off in my own little world and didn't care what was popular. I just liked what I liked. About 90 percent of what I wore as a teen was secondhand Roxy clothes and shell necklaces. The 90's were the years of the flared jeans and tye dye comeback, tattoo chokers, mood rings, hair beads, butterfly clips... Good times. Edit: OMG Crash Bandicoot 2!!! My very first Playstation game. I replayed that all the way through recently. SOOO much fun! And of course who didn't love Pokémon? (Not ashamed to admit I still play it as an adult.)
  19. Thanks for posting the video! This looks pretty cool. I love that you can choose your ride experience. I'd want to do an inversion or two and then give myself a break and enjoy the flight.
  20. I need to see what that Skyhawk ride does. Anytime there's a brand new type of ride it's exciting! I can't find any info about it as far as manufacturer, videos, etc. I know it's new to the U.S. but is it in any overseas parks?
  21. Are they allowed to fine someone for trespassing if they are caught before they are killed or injured? Makes sense that a fine would be a good deterrent. I think of it this way- I don't speed while driving, because I want to avoid a fine. Not because of any perceived risk to my life. I figure IF I were to speed I would be just fine. (Which is not necessarily true, anything can happen!) But I don't want to pay for it, so I obey the posted speed limit. Put up a sign saying the area is video monitored and that violators will be fined (somewhere around the cost of a phone, so that it's not worth the risk) and maybe that would be a good deterrent. Money is more "real" to some people than a chance they could lose their lives.
  22. Signs were clearly posted to stay out. He broke two rules- loose item on the ride, and entering a restricted area. It was nobody's fault but his own. I support the addition of more signs explaining EXACTLY what to do in that situation on the fence. "If you lose an item while on the ride, please contact guest services and we will be happy to retrieve it for you after the park closes and the ride has been shut down. This fence is a restricted area, and entry at any time may lead to serious injury or death." Something like that. Maybe add something on like violators will be fined/prosecuted/banned from all Cedar Fair parks, etc. They should not HAVE to do that, and they have no fault, in my opinion. It just could prevent more incidents like this from happening and hurting Cedar Point's image. In the end, it is up to the guest to follow the clearly posted rules. And if people value technology over their lives, that's their problem. It's a shame this happened, he sounds like a really nice guy. But it was his fault, not Cedar Fair's.
  23. Ride operations are suspended during high winds or heavy rain. I only just got my first ride on a WindSeeker a couple weeks ago! Try to pick a day when the forecast isn't too windy.
