  1. The only reason I'd care to go is to ride a few rides before an inevitable shutdown or sale of the park (again) Also, to laugh at some of the things there. To decide to repaint a coaster red with red after that terrible paint scheme was removed still makes me chuckle. It's almost as if Kinzel went crazy...or crazier...
  2. If anything happens, it'll be Triotech who installs a new dark ride in any of the parks. They already have purchased two, I wouldn't think they would go that far and switch to a new manufacturer. Especially considering recently how they've already started to bring consistency to the parks across the chain to develop the brand. Triotech in one place, Oceaneering or Mack rides in another? No I don't see that happening.
  3. Who knows if it's just this ride being removed? There is quite a small parking lot by comparison next door that they could expand out to. The turnaround on the ride alone is enough for a second wave pool if they went the route of KI Soak City upgrades. There is alot of land to be used, and who knows for what yet. New slide complexes, new childrens adventure areas, cabanas, eateries to compliment the waterpark. This upgrade could be quite expansive. Given that they're willing to remove a somewhat freshly retracked classic wooden roller coaster for this should show the magnitude of the plans for season 2016 and beyond regarding that area of the park. This probably wasn't a light decision to be made if this is indeed for the waterpark. There is the very small slightly skeptical approach that Cedar Fair finally buys an RMC, which if that happens will cause a massive outrage from me for sure, and I'd assume many others as well. That's a very SIX thing to do, and they've already done that enough the past few years.
  4. I'm considering going, but not sure if it's packed or not, I'm 30 minutes from the park today and want to go, but I figure with the holiday weekend it'll be packed
  5. Today wasn't bad, bit of busy lines for awhile, but subsided a bit later by about 7 PM. Good day, now waiting for fireworks to subside to wait for The Beast tonight
  6. Oh my Surge, great stuff. My mother prevented me from drinking it for awhile, now I know why. It was great to get a case from Amazon
  7. Consistency? In a park that has an Oktoberfest area, with no Oktoberfest. You don't say!
  8. I just hope Cedar Fair doesn't cave into the RMC deal with Mean Streak considering how they want to improve ride experiences in the park all the sudden. I'm not a fan of butchering coasters. If it's a new RMC great, if it's not leave it how it is. Reprofile and retracks are acceptable, but turning a wooden coaster into a hybrid and claiming wooden coaster records (looking at you Goliath) I won't stand for.
  9. Last season, I'd like to go again and give Tempesto a few rides, did it ever have a hard opening or just soft opening, I haven't heard much but I know people have ridden it at least theres POV's everywhere.
  10. It should have laterals if it rode the rails well and was profiled better I'd believe. But, for now it'll shuffle and bounce everywhere making you think you didn't secure your back before riding. Maybe I should report it to lost & found.
  11. I hope people go to both parks, and then realize which of the two is much better off. I'll take themed rides, food, landscaping, and reasonable prices over I-305, crappy carnival esque food, and terrible park layout anyday
  12. Mean Streak is a great twister layout, one of the best, and looks fantastic on the peninsula, it's just a tad too painful for me in a few spots. If they reprofiled it completely and did a great job it may be tolerable and one of my favorites indeed. Even the fan curve they started with at the end of 2010 is already starting to wear badly right at the end of the turn, it used to not shuffle there at all. I'd love to see if whoever did the retrack on Hurler at Carowinds would come in and do Mean Streak, it was GCI if I remember correctly, could be wrong, but that's a night and day difference, especially over the one over at KD, I'll never ride that again for quite awhile. Grizzly yes, that, no
  13. The best is currently SBNO unfortunately. I've since resorted to Blue Streak @ CP following it's extensive refurb and trains. But I'd much rather enjoy Big Dipper at Geauga Lake, or Wolf Bobs if it was still standing as well. Villain was another great ride, and potentially my favorite hybrid. It was one of the few coasters to actually frighten me from riding it, it bucked on those hills with incredible speed and very enjoyable, but worrisome laterals if you were on the right hand side. However, I'll enjoy what little is still left in Ohio for Wooden Coasters, it's sad they are a dying breed, they always have been my favorites to ride for the most part, but that could be the nostalgia speaking.
  14. Second the fountain upgrade. I'd love to see them do it. Give me the CW or KD black bottom pool with dancing fountains and lights. I'd like the pedestals to stay, it looks a bit dated but they do look nice and could see them fitting with a new retrofit. Maybe just update them to dance or put lights in those that shine nice and bright, who knows. Anything they do at this point will look great IMO. After seeing the sets myself this year other than in pictures & whatnot, I'm sold on them, it looks great during the day, the nighttime atmosphere around the fountains is memorable and pleasant, and it does add some life to the area. I'd hope that seeing the other parks have adopted these, KI will follow suit shortly.
  15. Considering the lack of attention to Boo Blasters, I wouldn't be surprised to see Triotech hit KI next with a new shoot em up. Sadly, given the state of Boo Blasters, I actually would say I'd welcome it, even with as much as I cringe at the idea of shoot-em-up dark rides. That or the Crypt building is quite big and tall, I could see a Wonder Mountain Guardian go in there somewhere, and given how bad that haunt is that's in there, I could see them scrapping a haunt for a new dark ride to fill the box all year.
  16. I'm all for a change in the nighttime show period. The same fireworks show and music several years in a row? Common guys. That Rihanna hit was from 2012, lets get with the current if we're ganna use pop music. I'd prefer score stuff or unique pieces, but the parks don't seem to go that direction anyways. While they're at it the same show and music is at Cedar Point during their beach deal they started last year, that's def a no-go in my book. Stop using cookie cutters in the parks!
  17. At first I thought this article was going to make me cringe based off the title. Phew. Neat article, The Beast is such a milestone coaster and really an incredible thing, but...I'll let my opinions go elsewhere in terms of best coaster..or best wooden one. It's not a coaster classic, and even removing the fantastic rides in that category, it's still not the best woodie, not even best woodie in the state, not by a longshot.
  18. 1-3. Smooth yet incredible ejector air in the return half. Only non smooth part is the first half of the pretzel if trimless, but its really still not bad. Its worth whatever though considering those final hills trimless are just perfect.
  19. 6-2 isn't the best seat on that ride, ride the ejector row, it will not disappoint, its been tried and tested for years, promise.
  20. I would do something like that if there was a band organ, it's so cool to hear those things play. For now I guess a CD Player will just have to do.
  21. So, the Wurlitzer isn't playing anymore, but I would bet it's still at the ride location. Will it be properly refurbished this time or no? Does anyone have any comments about it or ask questions regarding it during CoasterStock?
  22. Some rides the 3D isn't bad on though. For shooter style Dark Rides it would be annoying I'd feel. Take Dark Kastle though and if you have good scenery and 3D it works quite nice.
  23. This shows me how much the parks (or at least BGW) is hurting. A few years ago if you asked me if they would do something like this, I would have laughed in your face. For so long they refused to even acknowledge eachother existed.
