  1. You know you can carry a drink anywhere in the park right now yes?
  2. I found the intro music finally after trying a few different apps on my phone and a copy of the show I found on Youtube (yay late night browsing). I have updated my above post with it's information. I can't find it on Amazon MP3 or Google Play though for download or normal playback other than the website
  3. Yes, many rides announce it, but do they enforce it? Talk is one thing, action is another.
  4. The hardest part is now getting a prosthetic. Above knee amputations are much harder to create and work with compared to below the knee amputations. At least over there I'm hoping all costs associated will be handled by their health care system.
  5. Also note at the top of I-75N there's alot of construction, single lanes and bad grooves in the pavement. Opening Day drive up I seriously thought I'd lose control of the car because of where the groove in the road construction was. Overall that route is quite quick. The only pitfall is the current construction. Aside from that you can generally make very good time especially if you hold over the speed limit just a bit. Most of 75 is 70mph, and Route 6 is ~55 with a few lower zones. Holding just a few over can shave countless minutes off of your time. Route 4 should be avoided. I've seen the speed traps. 55 to a 35 with little warning, cop waiting right next to the sign. Luckily I have a detector and a good car. Plus, it's a straightaway of long and boring Ohio flatness. There's very little variety or excitement along the drive up or back. You can also take the trek up and take I-70 East to 71, then 71 North up to 250 which will eventually dump you into Sandusky. It's a bit out of the way, but again, a few over the speed limit and the difference is nonexistent
  6. Just found the video...wow, its even a pretty distasteful video. Just the hashtag alone proves how much the individual doesn't care. I hope the man got a misdemeanor. I do doubt this however and the park won't reveal if they did if asked anyways.
  7. How very interesting, I see this with the article...hmm
  8. I have seen ejections due to loose articles on the ride. Usually it's from lack of compliance or the person gets angry/cops an attitude and makes threats, etc.
  9. This goes to show it isn't a few ride ops being a problem, or a crew problem, it's a park and management problem, and management allows this to happen. Instead of dealing with the issue before, or even after it is discovered, security and ride ops didn't intervene until a scene was caused and then called security. I also wouldn't be surprised if many of the minor majority staffed rides have an increased number of issues like this as well. I'd love to see an adult only staffed ride op population, but I do understand the difficulty in doing so in regards to Kings Island.
  10. They use both, only those two trains. It no longer operates with three trains.
  11. Sometimes the ride ops don't see the loose article and can't address it. Not every ride has lift hill cameras, and not everytime is a phone or camera seen. Some even know they're not supposed to do it and wait until right at lift crest to pull it out and start recording. Cedar Point does enforce it much more than Kings Island. I can assure you of that. In Opening Weekend alone I saw more rides stopped and ride ops running to the lift hill than I have at Kings Island to this point in the season, and I've been there just about once per week at minimum, sometimes a whole weekend at maximum after taking time off of work.
  12. Wow that goes to great lengths for customer service right there. Incredible, incredible stuff. I posted elsewhere a few places about Thunderbird, I guess I didn't here. I will say go ride it, it's incredible. The theming is pretty cool, it's not Disney or anything, but it's neat. I found more impressive theming walking the Queue with the flickering lights & barn atmosphere than I did on the ride IMO. The launch is great, almost Intamin strength. Smooth and fast for sure, not jolting hard, but very close. The forces on that ride are phenominal. The vest on the OTSR needs to be there, this is perhaps the most forceful coaster B&M has made since the 90's and early 2000's. The efficiency of the ride is great too. Right when the train stops in the ready brake, the train in station is dispatched. Perfect interval, everytime. Then the efficiency of the ride itself. Magnetic braking, only three friction brakes on the whole ride, all of them practically never used. Just perfect piece of engineering and efficiency to the last drop. Only flaw I see isn't in anything of the ride. I noticed while I was there three semi generators in the giant area of land cleared next to the station with possibly hundreds of electrical conduits running from the trailers to green transformer next to the ride station. Maybe an issue with the new substation Holiday World built for the park or the Will Power flywheel building not working? Interesting for sure to say the least. Now I'm curious what all that land cleared out is going to be for.
  13. I didn't know any of the wood was just for decoration on a coaster. Goliath is Steel to me. It has a giant steel rail the train rolls on and is attached to. However, I just am going to call them all Hybrids. If it isn't an all wood construction or an all steel construction, I'm lumping it in with Hybrids. Take Villain, Gemini, Goliath, Mine Ride, etc. all Hybrids to my definition. It looks like a wooden coaster to an extent, but it's not. Their steel rails allow them do to things any traditional wooden coaster really doesn't do.
  14. I still think a Dark Ride upgrade at KI is in the works soon. That would go hand in hand with a Rivertown upgrade, it's been quite some time. I do think Soak City could use a new slide complex or anything new honestly. A new pool was a somewhat lame addition, but needed for sure. But spread the riders out a bit. Zoom Flume shouldn't be as long of a wait considering.
  15. They say it, but don't enforce thoroughly and consistently like other parks within the chain. One day I want to just go and count & videotape the rides dealing with things like this. It's been an issue for sure.
  16. I don't see a flying coaster hitting the point. That'd be impressive but I haven't seen much hype or desire for one over the past few years as I have a Dive. Plus in terms of thrills, it delivers more personally. The area in question is small considering. However, there is quite a bit of room over just on the right side of the road. The land in front of Cedars was recently torn up, so I'm still speculating if that area is going to finally be removed. That place is so old and rickety. I'm surprised Golds went away first honestly.
  17. I'd love to see them stop a lift for a loose article. I would even go to hand the ride op a $20 bill for doing it. Safety is of utmost importance, always. Just because you tell someone to do something doesn't mean they're going to do it and listen. Now it becomes a potential safety issue. I don't like the word potential when it comes to safety. I'd rather have assurance instead knowing that person's phone is off the ride considering they don't care if they have their phone out on the ride. Also, Racer has cameras on the lift hill:
  18. Not the only reason. It also has to do with weight and bearing temperatures on cold days.
  19. Eh..if I want ribs, I know other places outside the park and state that are night and day improvement over the park
  20. RHoF offers disappointment. As the rest of the park. The "craft" park brews are a joke and flavorless. Then bud light on tap. The only semi decent beer tapped it Stella. The most popular thing is the Bud Light Rita deals. Sadly I wish some of the breweries at the tasting event had a presence in the park. Then maybe they'd have a real IPA in the park and not that excuse they call Diamondback Ale. Sadly if I want a beer I'll find Yuengling. At least they do make a beer and it sticks to its name. To think I spent $9 on a beer that was fake too
  21. It's already missing a few roller coasters....but I'll let it slide. I'm sure if they put up Jumbo Jet and the like, someone would be asking where it is. "Cedar Point has two Wildcats? WHERE?"
  22. Not exactly true..this accident caused amputations* (potential multiple). It's smart to keep it all closed. Then on top of it all, it keeps public and media away from that ride at the moment to generate any press other than text and stock pictures.
  23. Man it's going to be a shame if they tear this ride down, the theming for this is incredible. I mean look at this! This isn't even recent, this was while it was testing!
  24. Unless you're the President of Intamin Americas Someone fetch that quote for me...
  25. Not all rides are created equal in terms of maintenance mode. Most follow this precedence, but not all. Again, I haven't worked this ride, or any Gerstlauer for that matter to know how they operate. I can name one ride off hand that allows full manual control when that key is used. However, unless maintenance was operating the ride, operations does not have that key to enable this mode. We will have to wait and see what happens regarding this though, again, I just use existing knowledge and insights and what I see on Youtube of how this ride operates.
