Bubba's... just because of the new types of food to the park. Can't wait to see what we get at the Outback Shack.

Actually the red trim on the carousel has been repainted and putting new light bulbs on it.

The Carousel is being repainted and worked on.

Their platnium pass is just a gold pass. Though trying to market it a different way.

Saturday the 3rd is slated as Radio ticket give-away slash employee family ticket day. Sunday the 4th is slated as season pass preview day.

Cedar Fair to acquire Six Flags Worlds of Adventur
Beastfreak replied to AllenAmazon's topic in Kings Island
So I listened to most of the conference call online after it was over. Some key points: 1)SFWoA season passed will either be refunded or exchanged for a Geuga Lake season pass. 2)These passes will not be valid at other Six Flags parks or Cedar Fair parks. Likewise, those passes will not be valid at Geuga Lake in the 2004 season either. 3)The animals are still the property of Six Flags since Cedar Point doesn't have experience managing animal parks. Currently the smaller rides by the lake will most likely be operated in the 2004 season, but still unsure what will be done with that side in the 2004 season. 4)The park will be geared more towards family and the original Geuga Lake that it used to be. 5)The VP of Operations from Cedar Point is being promoted to be the General Manager of SFWoA pending the actual final purchase details. 6)The waterpark (Hurricane Harbor) will be included in park admission much like Kings Island and will have to be renamed since the previous name is a register Six Flags name. 7)The Looney Toons and DC comics names and characters will not be coming with the deal since they are neither owned by Cedar Fair or Six Flags. Cedar Fair does have rights to the Charles Schultz Snoopy characters, but not certain if they will enter Geuga Lake in the 2004 season. I know there was more but I didn't catch all of it. This shall be interesting to see how this will effect PKI, if at all, since this park is one of PKI's direct competitors. -
I will be there fighting throught the crowds to get out to all the food stands that I have to hit up. Gotta make sure they know how to run registers right.

Pics are too large to view the second page. Exceeds bandwidth way too quickly.

PKI was first. Then PKD. Then they bought the other parks. PKD was modeled after PKI, so they had an almost identical layout. Complete with international street, fountain, tower, Racer, Beastie (different name), Flight of Fear, Paramount Theatre... list goes on and on.

I heard an ad on 97.3FM last night about giving away tickets to people to come that weekend. So..... HA HA HA HA to all you season pass people who thought they were getting an actual special private preview. Sorry that was mean, but I meant it.

Did I not bring up the fact that there would be a parade right after I got back from NoCoasterCon in Chicago. Jeff and Dave Mandt informed us of that and the new walk around characters.

What's new, coaster wise, for PKI?
Beastfreak replied to Beastly Terror Rider's topic in Coming Attractions
I'll be the second pair of eyes to have seen that as well. -
Well if it interests anyone.... Tarvin Electric... one of the contractors PKI uses, has parked their work-site trailer which if full of wires and stuff they use, right next to the spot where the sign was. Now that doesn't mean they will be starting on it soon since there are no parts for it there yet. The park has replaced the footers for some of the light posts in the parking lot, so they could have been out there running the wiring for those and maybe getting ready to start the electrical prep for the sign.
-
Pretty sure all the updates are done by the same guy for all the parks. Maybe they just want to keep everything a suprise for a little longer. Calm down.
-
Theirs is much like the one they put into Knott's Berry Farm, Hershey Park and many other parks. Its just a smaller version, doesn't swing as high, doesn't seat as many, not as fast either. Haven't ridden any of them, maybe I will this weekend at Knott's Coaster Solace, so I can't compare the ride experience to that of Delirium. However, I have the feeling Delirium will take the cake on that issue.

Well this year there will be a movie in that theatre on "Behind the Scenes of the movies". Though, just think of them as giant billboards for Paramount Movies. Why put huge pictures of Coke bottles on sides of building if they don't make Coke in side of them? Advertisment. Theme.
-
Now thats a shock. Did you think they would park them inside. There is a road that goes to it. Where else are they going to park.
-
It is the Paramount Theatre. The reason the building is so big is to make room for all the sound/light equipment and the curtains and all the other stage stuff.
-
It may be warm... but there is still a ton to do. The new kids play area/slides hasn't even started going vertical.. heck I haven't even seen the bucket on property yet. The Kookaberry??? Bay thingy is still just a hole in the ground. Building maintence still has to be done. All of the water pumping and piping for the new rides needs to be done. Just because the slides got put up quickly doesn't mean everything is almost done. We will have pics up soon taken at different points over the weekend while Taz Typhoon was being completed. Aaron had been away and having troubles with the boards, so he didn't have much time.

Roughest riding coaster at PKI?
Beastfreak replied to ckimbro's little bodyguard's topic in Kings Island
Thank goodness you defined that. I was lost. -
Wow... thanks for starting the same topic we already had. http://www.pkiunlimited.com/forums/index.p...topic=1556&st=0 Closed.

Could a new name be added to the Water Park?
Beastfreak replied to WildCat's topic in Coming Attractions
We couldn't get Tom Hanks to be Forest Gump, but we had a look alike. Possibly a Paul Hogan look alike? -
It went to go visit the King Cobra. Feel free to wait for him to return. I wouldn't.

None of those perks sound any different than anything KI has ever offered. They don't get to ride the rides any earlier than a normal person would be allowed. Just that they get to be first on the ride right when the park opens the rides.
-
Well you have to remember... PGA's Drop Zone is much different than PKI's Drop Zone. They are different generation Intamin free fall towers. PGA's does not have the "claw" ring like we have, theirs are individual claws with no room to hold a person on safely. While our's has a platform to actually stand on.
