  1. During the Paramount wide softball fun (for people of invite only) they opened the Action Zone rides up for an hour. I rode SOB back and forth between the front and back seat about 5 times in a row. I was a little shaken by the end. I definetly wouldn't want to do a marathon on that ride like some have done on other rides. There isn' enough padding you could put between me and the car because you just shake way to much to not have brain damage at least way through the day.
  2. I would have wished him happy birthday but... he still owes me. Sorry Aaron, no present.
  3. Yet they have never won the Golden Ticket for games. Arcade maybe, cause they do have a large one, but almost everything in there appears to be old except the DDR and the Virtual fishing up front. But this site isn't about that ... OTHER... park.
  4. I've never been to either, but I think we'll see Fearfest again before we ever see Winterfest.
  5. The park definetly makes money off it. Why else would they have it in the park? True they are an outside company, but they have a deal with Kings Island to give them a certain percentage of their sales or a minimum amount based on how many people come into the park. Its a guarentee the park will make money for bring these people in... even if the company doesn't.
  6. All I have to say about this bill... If its unsafe for minors to operate large rides/pieces of equipment because there have been 7 deaths of minors out of how many at amusement parks in the past 10 years... Then why is there no bill out there to prohibit minors from driving vehicles where there are many more injuries, tickets, accidents, and deaths caused from minor drivers than there are for amusement park related accidents. Like others have said, this Markey guy has always had issues with amusement parks and safety. He's tried many things to restrict the parks and what they can build and many other things, as well as starting the huge "Are roller coasters safe" stuff last year. Nothing has happened and he keeps hiding back in the dark, then rearing his head again to bring up some other issue.
  7. All I have to say is... ouch. They did that on the one in Six Flags over Georgia. Its a bicycle seat basicaly that you strattle. Man does that hurt when you hit the brakes cause you are still trying to go down.
  8. Now I like the idea of boomerangs. Maybe I'll get me one this year. Too bad I'd be sued for assault by any guest/employee I threw it at.
  9. I wouldn't call it stalking when the person is a well known person within the company that many outside people not only know of him, but talk with him when at the park. Stalking would be following him home or something like that and thats just wrong.
  10. Beast mid course break run.... shinny roof.
  11. He got off at the last stop..... conjunction junction.
  12. Remember, they didn't completely remove everything and start over.. Things are still going to be just as spaced out as they were before. The presence of the power lines didn't really give the park much of an option what to do in that open space. Taz Typhoon is far away from the other water slides but its close to the wave pool, kids area and Sharky's. Remember, all that open space under and around the power lines is now being used up. Most of the grassy area is now a big pool and the new Jackaroo Landing. A volleyball court was thrown in there and the rest was turned into a big hill. The whole area doesn't look the same. Won't remind you of the same waterpark it used to be. They still aren't done yet but I can safely say they've done a kick ass job with everything and can't wait for it to open.
  13. I guess its just because how much I walk around the park for my job, but I see napkins blowing around all the time still. I'll grab them and throw them out, but its still there, not like it was at post season last year. So far, I'd say good job on keeping trash cans empty and mostly everything swept up. Also, it really hasn't been busy yet. Not to say you guys won't do your job well, but I'm expecting to see many more of those napkins and cups all over the place once its warm and busy. That is unless you have 5x as many people out there sweeping.
  14. Its Anaconda at Kings Dominion. http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery92.htm?Picture=4 It is a similar ride to Vortex in style. Made by same people so the cars look the same but are different color.
  15. Definetly not even close to be being started. Saturday night after close, I looked across the parking lot on the way to my car to see what time it was... just not to find the sign. Completely forgot at the time it was gone. I used to look at thing every night on the way out to see how late or early it was.
  16. So Pat, when are we having that trip to Canada? Gambling is fun there. You don't know how much you are really losing cause its like playing with monopoly money!
  17. I guess since everyone else is doing it, I will too. Happy Birthday.... Oh crap! Its my mom's birthday too. Guess I better be giving someone a call.
  18. People accidently communicate on PKI radio channels through those motorala walkie-talkies that you can buy at the store all the time. If you do use these stations, the communications switch-board people will inform you to stop using the station and why. I've never heard of anyone refusing to stop.
  19. Not really. The fire truck is old and square. The pick-up is a newer ford (I believe) and rounded.
  20. Actually that was the real fire truck from PKI. See as how the park wasn't open on Monday, it wasn't as necessary to keep it at the park in case of an emergency since the chances of a fire are greatly reduced when nothing is open and operating.
  21. It started a few years ago that they would only offer fireworks at closing when it is 10pm or later. Now select big name companies that buy out the park can request it (P&G) and will have fireworks at 9pm. The park stopped doing fireworks before 10pm because they just determined it wasn't dark enough on those days to see the fireworks the best way they can be seen. Though at 10pm or later it was plenty dark and would be most noticable.
  22. Pretty darn sure. Down power line is on West Chester Road, by my house. My guess, while Cinergy shuts off power to that line, inadvertenly shuts down power for split second everywhere then leaving it off in area of trouble. Again, I'm no electrician either.
  23. Odd... I would have sworn the power outage was do to the accident in West Chester at that time which took out a power line?
