  1. They tried to do the same thing with International Street and I really don't like this approach. You can still show lots of photos and still have surprises. When they built Mystic Timbers, the park shared lots of photos of the entrance plaza and station and I was still surprised by many things on my first ride. I don't think anything is spoiled by taking a photo of the interior of the station, concrete being poured for the queue, or the foundation for the food stand.
  2. I'm glad I'm not the only person that's been thinking this. There's been way fewer social media updates on this project than with Mystic Timbers, for example. I think they didn't really feel a pressing need to with the webcams, but now they're down so it would be nice to get more photos. Sure, ride erection is finished but it would be interesting to see site development, etc., and it's always cool to see photos from places we normally wouldn't be as a guest. It's very strange that this is the largest investment in the park's history and on social media they're treating this like any other addition, maybe even less so.
  3. No, it’s not, but it was enough for the neighbors to complain: https://www.wvxu.org/post/kings-island-taking-steps-respond-neighbors-noise-concerns#stream/0
  4. Paramount Action Zone was tacky and horrifically ugly. It might not have a cohesive theme anymore, but it's at least a much nicer and more pleasant area since the 2014 renovation.
  5. I would assume that’s where they’re filling it with sand.
  6. The problems were not worked out and that’s why it was removed.
  7. The park wants people focused on the coaster they’re adding, not on the one they’re demolishing. Also, seeing Firehawk and Son of Beast demolition pictures made people excited for the future and asking what was next. There is nothing planned for The Vortex plot right now, so no reason to make people excited/interested. I’d love to see lots of photos of Vortex’s demolition for historical reasons, but I don’t think we’re going to get them until much later, if at all.
  8. Please, please, please do not put the Monster Trucks at Kings Island. I don't care that they're temporary, they are way too trashy for a classy theme park like Kings Island. People coming to the park for the first time deserve to see Kings Island as Kings Island, not as some dumpy Monster Truck place.
  9. The Beast is already themed to a mining company, so I think it would be interesting to theme The Crypt attraction to a rival company or just a separate theme altogether.
  10. I can confirm that what @Bdd127 said is accurate—Jeff Gramke told me almost the exact same thing. There is an interesting tidbit about trying to sell it that I’m saving for my book.
  11. Thanks for catching that...it’s called rushing to type in band class...
  12. Is there a cap on attendance? Like is signing up a first come, first serve in terms of attending Media Day?
  13. The intention was to open WindSeeker on April 30, 2011, but due to weather-related construction delays, it didn't open until June 21.
  14. The plan, as of December, was to redo Red's turnaround. I don't know if that has changed or not--you can't see the turnaround on the webcams.
  15. The VP of maintenance and construction at Canada's Wonderland said he was talking to Jamie Gaffney about using the system on Orion back in October. I haven't heard anything since.
  16. I'll keep The Vortex theme going.
  17. Yes, there will be a light package and it will be quite impressive.
  18. Sorry for the confusion, I meant five years in that 2014-2019 is a five year time span, not five seasons.
  19. That’s just what I heard via word-of-mouth, not from a truly reliable source. But it made sense, five years (not five seasons).
  20. There is a whole album of aerial construction photos on this site’s photo page. If we really want to make a big deal out of this, then those photos should be taken down as well.
  21. I'm really looking forward to this. My favorite show I've seen at Kings Island was the Ed Alonzo show in 2012 and 2013, so it will be nice to have something like that back.
  22. Diamondback was completed January 26, 2009, and started testing on February 26. Banshee was completed January 23, 2014, and started testing March 15.
  23. It will be Orion's entrance. Orion's photo booth is a new build.
  24. That would make a lot of sense. Anthony Esparza specifically told me he relocated from LA to Charlotte when he joined PPD&E, so that makes sense that his departure caused a restructuring that relocated the division to LA.
