The ship is still brown in that photo. I’m guessing the paint job will be similar to Ocean Motion with the brown ship and white supports.

No staff at the parks until April 5. I don’t even know if Orion will open with the rest of the park if it opens mid-May. I don’t think it’s been certified by the state and from the drone videos a week ago there’s still much to be done in terms of site development.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
KIghostguy replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
I have had liberal and conservative friends refer to various topics as “fake news.” It has no significance in regards to political spectrum. I think it was an attempt to be funny/sound relevant, nothing deeper than that. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
KIghostguy replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I’m surprised this is the only video to leak out so far, and that it took this long! I hope we see more soon. -
I can see Orion from my house and that’s what it looks like every day around late afternoon/evening. The sunlight hits the rail and metal catwalk, causing that reflection. I’ll be honest, I can’t see anything different in the video or “lit/unlit” images other than the way the sun is hitting the track and catwalk.

BGW to get a "giga" for 2021?
KIghostguy replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If this counts as a giga, Moonsault Scramble was the first hyper and Superman: Escape From Krypton was the first strata. -
Thank you, I hope you enjoy reading it!

It’s not an either/or situation. It’s clearly dark blue.

Yes, that's me...and I stand by my statement.

I think people will be very happy with the final light package!

Check the date in the upper left hand corner--August 27, 2013.

You're about a week late on that.

Another drone video has been put up by the same channel of Orion testing.

I'm happy to see they kept Jane Cooper's initials on Flight of Fear. Also, it looks like they are beginning to inflict the "damage" to the area and Flight of Fear hangar like in the trailer. I'm most curious on where the entrance sign will go. There doesn't look to be a clear/obvious spot to put it.

Not sure what you’re trying to say—everything you have written was already said in the blueprints. Also, you have the Orion entrance building marked as the food stand. The food stand is a new build where the hillside was.

Cedar Fair Purchases Paramount Parks!
KIghostguy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
"There’s a couple other rides in the park that someday will be taken out. Is it in the next two, three, four, five years? I don’t know the answer to that. There’s no plan. But some rides, they don’t make the parts anymore, they become hard to maintain, they become not unsafe, but unreliable. That’s the hard part about this business."---Mike Koontz -
Cedar Fair Purchases Paramount Parks!
KIghostguy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I’m so glad you wrote this. As you stated, KECO were the ones managing the park day-to-day. Carl Lindner and American Financial’s business model was to reward success, and Kings Island was hitting attendance records nearly every year. AFC financed the park very, very well and let Kings Entertainment Company “do their thing” at the park level. A small correction, Vortex, Amazon Falls and WaterWorks were all KECO-ownership additions, although Amazon Falls and WaterWorks opened under AFC’s ownership. Vortex is notable as the only coaster to be designed, built and opened totally under KECO’s ownership. Maybe now people on here will listen when I say the Lindner years were good ones. Everyone I talked to who was in management at the time had glowing things to say about being owned by Lindner. -
Cedar Fair Purchases Paramount Parks!
KIghostguy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Carowinds would have been owned by Kings Entertainment Company in 1988. The only park American Financial Corporation ever owned was Kings Island. -
Is the record breaking ride building era over for Ki
KIghostguy replied to stashua123's topic in KI Polls
FTFY! I do think all of Cedar Fair's ground-up installations have been fantastic and extremely high-quality. Orion certainly will continue that trend. -
There will be a light package and a part of it was described to me similar to what's in the screenshot. I would say it's probable that @collin.klopfstein did indeed catch a little test of that aspect.

It looks like the camera will be on the curve between the camelback and helix from the aerial footage.

Nothing says Wild Animal Habitat like TOP GUN, or Coney Mall like DAYS OF THUNDER, or Rivertown like TOMB RAIDER: The Ride. Paramount ran an amusement park with individually themed rides. Mike Koontz runs a theme park.

New drone video from Local 12. Some on-the-ground shots as well.
