Well I have to go with The Beast on this one. The coaster was build with out any computer help and is still the longest wooden coaster in the world. The Beast has changed a little over the years with the breaks and taking out of the lake. Also The Beast started out with different trains.

They're both excellent rides, but I think they're very different styles, so I think it's odd to pit them against each other. I'm gonna go with The Beast though, since it's a true classic and the best terrain coaster out there.

Easily Thunderhead. The ride has great airtime, unbelievable "head choppers", and seems so fast. The only thing it lacks is length, and The Beast makes up for that. Don't get me wrong The Beast is awesome, but Thunderhead is BETTER! :jerry:

thunderhead, easy. it has it all. if you are an enthusiast then you will enjoy things like speed, airtime, and head choppers. if you don't pay attention to those types of things then you may enjoy the themeing and landscape. the layout is cool and amazing to look at.

I've had over 2,000 rides on Beast, and just 9 on Thunderhead. While I'll always LOVE The Beast...pound for pound I think TH beats it out by a nose. If Beast wasn't so heavily braked, maybe its raw power would sway me back.

Thunder Head simply has the whole package...speed, insane drops, tons of air, and lots of suprises. If both were in the same park...They'd compliment each other nicely.

Neither is at my #1 spot, but both are still very good, and there's no denying the power of Beast's insane finale.

Yeah, they are both woodies, but The Beast is a terrain coaster and Thunderhead is not. Beasts' track is a lot more spread out and utilizes the surrounding areas. I don't get that feeling from Thunderhead.

There both woodys and I think I like The Beast Better because it takes you for a wild ride .Thunderhead is great but theres no coaster like The Beast.

Well, I think The Beast used to take you for a wile ride back in the day. These days, Thunderhead gets my vote. As coasterdime said, the final helix on The Beast is still one of the most amazing parts on any wood coaster....that is what keeps The Beast from falling way way down in my rankings. However the rest of Beast is more like a scenic railway. No real speed after the shed brakes, even the quick dip isn't what it used to be. Thunderhead doesn't offer extreme forces in airtime or laterals, but what it does is beautifully combine them to make an all out fabulous ride. The pure, non stop speed and insane direction changes make Thunderhead leap ahead of many other rides out there. Man its amazing......

I find The Beast much smoother than Thunder Run, which was quite bumpy.

Have a great day!

You cant judge Thunderhead unless you have ridden the ride. Ive been on it 8 times and let me tell you that it is truly an amazing ride with very nice airime and a lo of great latterals. The layout is unreal and the trains are so comfortable! I love the Gci trains and the station fly through is a great and i mean great addition to the already amazing ride.EVERYONE should go check out this amazing coaster and the Tennesse Tornado is also an amazing thilling ride. One of the best first drops that ive ever been on before!!

Know I know I workon Beast and Beast is a GReat ride but honestly there are better wooden coasters out there. The Beast will always and I mean always be the grand daddy of all wooden coasters but 25 years later there are and is gonna be better rides than he BEAST!
