I think it is safe to say that the Carousel will not be going anywhere anytime soon. Why? Because all the other Paramount Parks already have a Carousel. While the removal of the Flying Eagles did shock me (I didn`t think they would remove them but relocate them), I believe Paramount is smart enough to keep the classic carousel. The day PKI removes their carousel is the day the true heart of PKI also dies!

Dude they just spent about half a million on the new elevators for the tower, and the ride is getting brand new counterweights and cables for next year.... so I really don't see it moving for at least another decade!

i don't see pki bringing back the antique cars truthfully..if they do they will be maybe electric powered...it'll be more cost effective not having to fill them up with gas and probably less maintenence on electric motors..i'd like to see that though, not so much in HB just because its always just been a ride that hasn't really had a theme, its just been there...everyone loved to ride them from kids up to the elderly...i feel that a themed car ride like that might not be favorable by some people..just because they liked the ride for what it was..peaceful, relaxing, and just a nice little ride..having a bunch of cartoon characters everywhere or what is planned for the cars might not be liked by some people..

i'd love to see a nice flat ride put in for 06, i've always liked pki's flat rides...i could possibly see a coaster..but it would have to be a big one nothign small like IJ but that is very unlikely so i'm not expecting anything along those lines..i think maybe a small attraction for HB and a new flat possibly in Rivertown or Coney for 06

electric cars, no, if it is actually considered, it would fail, due to retrofit costs, and maintenance, a combustion motor isnt quite easy to take care of, but does not rely on conductors to help it move, plus, if there is an outage, well, waham, there they go, just coast for a bit, then die, powered cars suck because they have to be "linked" they would all have to be linked to same controls, there would just be more labor involved, plus it takes away from original concept, plus the kids would be dissappointed from not being able to drive...

Why is everyone saying IJST will be small? It is supposed to be arounf 3,000 feet long. While it may not have any big hills or have a very high top speed just look at the estimated length of track. 3,000 feet is longer than Top Gun. While it may not be high on the intensity meter, it will certainly make up for in excitement, and I`m sure it will be a fun ride to ride again and again, as long as the theming is maintained. I honestly hope the `Tiques make a return in 2006, in Nick or not. A new mega flat ride would be nice as well! Only time will tell what the park has in store for the future. In the meantime, I look forward to experienced IJST in the spring.

I wouldn't plan on the Tower EVER leaving PKI. As far as the Carousel, I also highly doubt it would ever leave. Vortex still has MANY years left in it. The guests LOVE it because its awesome (totally B*TCHIN) and the company loves it cause its a people mover.

Good point, CoastersRZ. IJST will be 3000 feet long. Another way of looking at this is that it is 80% as long as Vortex. Anybody on here want to say Vortex is small?

IJST will be very fun. Adventure Express is fun, and its shorter, slower and WAY less themed than IJST will be. So I think that IJST will be awesome!

I wouldn't plan on the Tower EVER leaving PKI.

Way back when Paramount first bought the park, they were going to remove it. According to a manager, they actually debated this issue for many months. Personally, I like it, just because of the view, and not to mention that the managers of ALL departments go and spy on their workers from up there. Hehe. I love being in the know sometimes.

They didn't remove PKDs tower. I don't think they will because it has been a symbol of PKI for 30 years. The tower is one of only a few things they could take out and ruin PKIs image in the process, the others being The Beast and The Racer.

Personally I don't see Tower going anywhere at all. At least until after I'm dead. cigar.gif

They would be new cars not retrofit. I think if they was going to keep them they would have not removed them to start with. There is electric cars at other parks that have been there for years, like Kennywood.

I think the rumor of them getting put back in is to keep people from complaining about the removal.

I don't forsee any rides leaving next year- some may get repainted, but not leaving. We've taken one too many rides last year, why would we take even more out? Because Viacom told us to. It's nothing we can control. We've learned that the hard way.

I must agree, I really do not think any rides will be removed next year,(except maybe, the water maze), because every year lately, something has been removed. It seems like they keep removing do much, and it is time to cut back on ride removals. And the fact that there is a sh*t load of open land.

You see, that brings up an interesting point. Was this really a corperate decision, or is that what they're leading us to believe?

It almost seems like when they saw the reaction to the Flying Eagles thing, they used corp as a scapegoat.
