Creed Bratton Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Thanks for sending that link. Now I want KI to have a Jump2 6
Magenta Lizard Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I would like a Jump2, but only if they could flip the seats to the other side of those arms, facing out. I'd much rather watch the views than other riders' faces. 7
Honorarius Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 The most enjoyable part of a Jump2 is the surprise you get when it isn't down for maintenance... Don't get me wrong, it's a fun ride... When it runs...But it's down for maintenance more than any other ride in the park... 7
Magenta Lizard Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 You know, that was the thought that came to my mind when I watched the video: I bet maintenance is a nightmare on that thing. Not surprised to hear I was right. 2
Creed Bratton Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Correct, the maintenance has been a challenge, bu the ride experience is a ton of fun! I really want one, maybe updated to not have so many issues lol. 2
The Interpreter Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 HUSS. Modern HUSS rides include Tomb Raider: The Ride, the KI and CP Deliriums which have required a great deal of unexpected maintenance and the Dollywood ride that required a sign and a lawsuit as it apparently never worked reliably and was often closed. The Jump2 at NJFTP was quietly and rapidly removed. I suspect you'd see an INTAMIN coaster at Kings Island before you saw a Jump2. 5
Honorarius Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Tell you what, maybe someone could arrange a trade: we`ll send you the Jump2 in exchange for designing a good wooden coaster for us... 2

The Interpreter Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 See: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/JumpinJackFlash.htm SUCH a wonderful site! 1
MDMC01 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Thanks for posting that link, I've poked around there a few times, reading up on Great Adventure's history Also, Jumpin' Jack Flash looks a lot different than Slegehammer (this is expected, considering it was a prototype). I think that a Jump2 in Action Zone would be sick (as in awesome/cool)! 1
KI Guy Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 If we're talking Huss, we might as look to the older, reliable rides. How about a Swing Around? Check out the Corn Popper at Darien Lake. 2
homestar92 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 See: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/JumpinJackFlash.htm SUCH a wonderful site! Interesting. NJFTP's Jump2 had the seats mounted above a platform while on the one at CW they are suspended below. Did that have any noticeable effect on the ride experience? 2
The Interpreter Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yes. I suspect it greatly contributed to the wild, seemingly uncontrolled ride (and maintenance problems). 1
