The Interpreter
Now on Carowinds' website! http://www.carowinds.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=1 http://www.carowinds.com/attractions/detail.cfm?ai_id=3 Still a reference to Flight Deck in the second paragraph of the second linked page. Cory Butcher
OMG, I absolutely LOVE this logo!
PKIVortex
That is a cool logo. Why couldn't we get lucky and have our Top Gun named Afterburn?

DiSab
Agreed, that's probably the coolest and most bad-ass logo I've seen in a while. The CF design department just renewed a little of my faith. Now if only we can think of better names for the rest of the rides in the chain...
Delirium13
Please let this be the name and logo they decide on for us!
Raptor66
It's funny how we were complaining of CF using the same names for all their rides and now were begging to have the same name of Carowinds' ride! Oh well, it is an awesome name.
THE_BEASTmaster
Also Nighthawk has gotten a new logo as well. http://www.carowinds.com/attractions/detail.cfm?ai_id=1 Here is the logo:
PKIVortex
Cool Logo.
Raptor66
Ech. I have to humbly disagree. Something about that bird looks very unnatural. And I don't think they should have made it so much like Firehawk's logo, but then again, this is Cedar Fair we're talking about.
Cory Butcher
The lettering on Nighthawk looks similar to the lettering of Dominator...
FOFirehawkFAN
Thats not fair how come they get a unique name?
jzarley
I just realized that the Vekoma Flyer at Carowinds has had three different names/logos in just a few years...Stealth, Borg, and now NightHawk. I haven't been to Carowinds since the installation of "Borg", but wasn't it pretty heavily themed? (I saw some pictures, and thought the "set" included a Borg sphere and a few other items.) For those of you who have been there recently, how difficult will it be to "de-theme" the ride into NightHawk?
2BMasterofK.I._29
Thats not fair how come they get a unique name? Well last year, we got Firehawk. I'm sure they had the same feelings. I know how you feel but realistically, you can't get it all every year. It seems like Cedar Fair is trying to evenly distribute new and refurbished attractions to each of their parks. To be honest, I think that it could be a fair prediction, in the end, to see Kings Dominion become a park of higher concentration than even Kings Island. I have nothing to back this up. It is just an assumption based on nothing more than mere speculation. But it would not shock me.
Gordon Bombay
JZ, I haven't been to carowinds since 2003, the year before Borg was installed, but from what I've read; Paramount Park's really did a pretty high quality job of relocating and re-theming the ride. Many people often claim it to be the last good thing Paramount Parks, claiming that after the instillation they became much more cheap as the idea of selling the chain was passed around. I know the ride had some fountains and the giant borg "sphere," a model from the motion pictures and television show... Photo: www.carowindszone.com I can't find any good photos of the station so I don't know how well thats themed but I did notice that they have a canopy over their ready brakes outside of the station. I'd like to see King Island put one of those on Firehawk and maybe they should realize its easier to put tents and canopies over the queue line rather than have employees pass out water. RollerNut is a member here who runs Caorwinds Zone, although he hasn't been there in awhile, but maybe he can provide some insight.
RollerNut
The BORG station looks just about like the Stealth station did. It is pretty a big gray building, it is open on all sides except the operator booth. The roof has two separate piecces, and one side is higher than the other. The hardest part of retheming BORG will be (if they do it) the sphere. All other theming can be dug up. Personally, I think the sphere should be renovated into a gift shop, store, or an arcade. If a flat ride can fit inside, that would be a good addition. I imagine the sphere will most likely be removed. Source: www.carowindszone.com I have always wonder if the steps in the background have a purpose or not.
Gordon Bombay
Wow, the sphere is that big? Isn't it in the middle of the pond, or is connected to the surface?
RollerNut
Source: www.rcdb.com ~ Carowinds.com Most of it was built over water however, here you see that it has footer on the "island". Again, there are steps near it. Which appear to be inside the sphere. I have no clue how big the sphere is.
CoastersRZ
Technically, the term is referred to as "footings" and not footers. Footers is the slang term used by some of the construction trades on job sites. It is not the actual terminology, that professional architects use. (Sorry, I had to. That`s just my architectural education coming out).
The Interpreter
Knowing Cedar Fair, it would not surprise me if they put a couple of rings around the sphere, painted it yellow and claimed it was Saturn...and the ride was then sponsored by the General Motors Division of that name. Vortex
Here is a picture of me next to the Borg sphere. Also for anyone wanting to see the old logo for TOP GUN. If you want to use these pictures on your web-page please ask me first. As I still have them on my card for my digital camera.
