raptor
Looking at the old maps it seemed to be in a much better location than the great wolf lodge, is that area now part of the park or is it unused?
The Interpreter
If you mean the Kings Island Inn as seen in the Brady Bunch, it's still there....across the street, in the same location it always was...now known as The Kings Island Resort and Conference Center: http://www.kingsislandresort.com/ The site of the GWL was not previously developed, and is now wholly owned by GWL. Cedar Fair has no ownership interest in either the GWL or The Kings Island Resort and Conference Center.
PKIDelirium
The campground wasn't development?
The Interpreter
Well, yeah..... You got me! But it wasn't much development, and is sadly missed by many.
raptor
The 1972 park map at: Kings Island 1972 Map gives the illusion of the Inn being right outside the front gate but I suppose it was really across the street
The Interpreter
Just as it gives the same illusion for the Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Golf Course. Apparently, back then Interstate Highways were depicted a bit more genteelly.
Purplehaze
Its still there, it used to be a great place to stay with an awesome nightclub. Last time i was there it went down hill.

italianchef
GWL is much better located than the Kings Island Resort & Conference Center. One can walk there. As others have mentioned, you need to drive across the road to get from the Kings Island Resort to KI.

As others have mentioned, you need to drive across the road to get from the Kings Island Resort to KI. But, since the resort has a shuttle bus you don't really have to drive yourself...and where the bus drops you off is a lot shorter walk than from GWL. Purplehaze
I can see all that land across from KI being sold off in another 20 years and retail heaven put in.
Thrill_Biscuit
^Or another awesome hotel, with a monorail to/from the park...
SOB_TOM
I just noticed this: Look on the map at the Antique Cars. The names, in 72, were backwards of what the names ended up being. Les Taxi's ended up on the side near Racer, and OOAL was on the opposite side. Never noticed that before.
CoastersRZ
Actually, I believe that the Ohio Overland Auto Livery was always the side located by Swan Lake. I know it was named that in the late `90s shortly before it was permanently closed.
DropZone99
To the right og Boomerang Bay, to the left of the gas station KI could maybe fit a small resort with an exclusive entrance to BB. The shuttle from KI Resort Inn and BB could stop there and take them to the park entrance. But i think there might be a radio tower in that spot... im not sure...
