Miythandria Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 You know how Flight of Fear is currently blocking off the last car of each train? One lady mentioned that this was because the back car had a tendency to separate from the rest of the train. 10 Quote
CoasterOhio Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 "Man I love The Bat, it's so much better than that (crappy) flight deck" I think it was mentioned, but it's still very entertaining. 7 Quote
lopan Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 "yea they just shut down the Flight of Fear a little while ago because someone fell off it" - a kid behind me in line for FH 1 Quote
lopan Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Not really a "darnest thing" but someone in line for FOF was telling someone in detail about the electrical problems with the ride, i assumed it was someone from here or someone who works there because it sounded about right what the guy was saying from what I've heard. 2 Quote
BB1 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Guy in line at The Bat "Flight of Fear goes from 0-80 in 2 seconds!". 1 Quote
CoasterOhio Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 "Wish it was still owned by paramount. Cedar Fair is slowly ruining the park"What? 8 1 Quote
jsus Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I know! Banshee is such a horrible, horrible ride and any park would be ashamed to have it. Oh, wait... 4 1 Quote
TheCryptCrusader Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 "Did you know that if you look under the water in the splashdown for Diamondback you can see pieces of Flight Commander?" "I heard that Flight of Fear is launched by a laser. I saw it on their website, it said LIM launch or laser induction modifier." That last one almost made me cry. 8 1 Quote
AirtimeIsKey Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Some kid turned to me in the Diamondback line and stated and insisted that the ride had inversions. Im sure he was dissipointed, 5 1 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Well, I guess it all depends on if he likes inversions. I saw that comment on Facebook earlier, CoasterOhio, and was tempted to reply, but I have learned over the years not to get into online arguments when I can help it. I must say, I personally prefer Cedar Fair's KI to Paramount's so far. Ruining the park, they definitely aren't. 8 Quote
electricsun Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 My oldest nephew and I ran into one of his school friends at KI this summer. He ended up getting in line with us for Diamondback and told us that the ride cost $25 billion to make. Erm...not quite kiddo. I told him that it seemed a little high but he was convinced. Teaching moment! Pulled out my phone, did a quick search and showed him the right price of $22 million. One letter can make a big difference. 8 Quote
Nick_Plummer Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 *In line for The Racer looking over at Adventure Express when a lady behind me says.* "Hey that there is The Beast, I remember my dad said they built it back in the 50s!" I wanted to correct her so badly but there's only so much a 14 year old can do to try to convince an adult. 9 Quote
rhyano Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I was waiting in line for The Beast and the lady behind me asks is this Adventure Express? 3 Quote
jsus Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I was in line for Adventure Express when... Oh, who am I kidding, there were no guests. The darnest thing was that we had an entire train for two people. Sorry, still feeling special to have experienced that. Okay, so imagine walking through the queue all the way into the station. Ride ops just standing around, you sit down, and they kinda send you on your way. With no other guests in sight. So unusual but so cool. 4 Quote
Diamondback96 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 "Wish it was still owned by paramount. Cedar Fair is slowly ruining the park" What? Could be worse. He/she could have said Cedar Point in place of Cedar Fair. 4 Quote

jsus Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It was later in the day during Haunt at the end of last season. There have been times the weather kept crowds down, but that's by far the best I've seen that theory in action. 2 Quote
TheCryptCrusader Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It's always neat going on a day that you are one of the only few in the park, it does feel pretty special to be on a train alone! 4 Quote
CoasterOhio Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Look what I started back up xD Well, I guess it all depends on if he likes inversions.I saw that comment on Facebook earlier, CoasterOhio, and was tempted to reply, but I have learned over the years not to get into online arguments when I can help it. I must say, I personally prefer Cedar Fair's KI to Paramount's so far. Ruining the park, they definitely aren't. Speaking of Online Arguments. I got into one about wether or not this year was the 43 or 44th season... it IS the 43 season, and there is math to back it up...2015-1972 = 43 AND 2022 - 2015 = 7 and 43 + 7 = 50 years. SO YEAH IT's the 43rd season. and that guy didn't under stand it... He said the 1st year doesn't count. But that would make it 42.... Quote
jsus Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It is 44. Your math excludes the first year, as it calls it year zero. You found the age of the park, not the season count. 1972, 73, 74, 75 is four years. 76-85 86-95 96-05 06-15 are each another decade. 4 + 4*10 = 44 2 Quote

The first is year 0=1972, so you add one. This is Kings Island's 44th season, though the park will soon be 43 years old. 2 Quote

CoasterOhio Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Then explain the 40th season being 2012.... Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 It wasn't. It was the 40th anniversary and the 41st season. 3 Quote
jsus Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 40th anniversary was 2012, but it was the 41st season. 3 Quote
Italian Job 2005 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Well, it might have been premature to celebrate the 40th season during the 40th season. Some parks have been shut down mid-season without notice. You never know what could happen. Quote
