CoastersRZ Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Yes, the front row was removed from The Crypt, not the back row. And a few seats on the exit side were also removed a few seasons back. Quote
coaster_junky Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 yea, the first time i rode the crypt this year my jaw dropped and i froze in shock when i saw what they had done to it. Quote
Kris_2009 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Yes my bad the front... I have only been on that piece twice this year, and once stuck. They really made it one of the worst rides this year, hopefully next year they can program a decent ride experience and hire somebody who can theme. As much as a bare floor with a drain is scary, they can do MUCH better. Quote
tubaman Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Yes, the front row was removed from The Crypt, not the back row. And a few seats on the exit side were also removed a few seasons back. Oh wow! So I wasn't crazy! I knew there used to be more rows. Quote

LongliveKingsCobra Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Personaly I think that they will make a small investment into some themeing, hey, Joann Fabrics had a sale on Halloween stuff last Oct. I bought alota stuff, if KI needs some Ill be glad to donate! Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I have my doubts that they will invest in any more theming for The Crypt, unless they plan to store some Halloween Haunt decorations below the ride; I think it is what it is. Quote
kittenpooh Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Yes, the front row was removed from The Crypt, not the back row. And a few seats on the exit side were also removed a few seasons back. Ok, I was just reading threw this topic and came upon this. Why did they take rows and seats out? Im sure there is another topic about this but I figured I would ask. I have only ridden The Crypt once. Cant figure out weather I liked it or not. I guess I will have to give it another shot. As for the theming, I saw pictures of what it is now and wow, it sucks. They really need to do something with that. Quote
tigellinus Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 ^^Likely the dynamics of the new ride program could not accomodate the gondala as heavy as it was...or something to the affect of it being because of the new ride program. 1 Quote
Coaster Kid Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I know i saw some king cobra trains at Halloween Haunt with skelingtons in them this year. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I thought I read somewhere, (before joining this site) that they sent KC to Spain? Anyone else remember that rumor or was I dreaming? Quote
Beast1979 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I know i saw some king cobra trains at Halloween Haunt with skelingtons in them this year. Doubtfull. They had trains from the Old SOB and Phantom Theatre, along with several of the old kiddie rides. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Maybe it was a rumor but it wasn't sent to Spain unless it was to get melted down there. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 At one time, some somewhat credible sources were claiming that was to be King Cobra's fate. It turned out not to be. Quote

OK, I thought I had acually read that somewhere, not just queue line talk. These pictures here most definitely debunk that... Quote
violakat03 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 We were told that in training for the 2003 season. It was supposedly going to Terra Mitica in Spain. So either the trainers were misinformed or there actually was a plan for this at some time that was changed. Quote

The Interpreter Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Your trainers were reading a usually credible internet source. And plans changed, as they often do. Quote
CodyDL Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I would like to ride Shockwave now. WHY!? I would not get on an old style stand-up like Shockwave. The trains look so uncomfortable. The new trains on Mantis at CP is my type of comport haha Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 ^I personally didn't find Shockwave's trains last year to be any more or less comfortable than Mantis's. The only real difference is that the loading procedure for Shockwave seems to take longer since the restraints aren't exactly intuitive--you stick your arms through a vest while pushing a lap bar down so you can straddle a bicycle-style seat. Quote
EssentiallyCoaster Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Holy crap. Impressive dig there woods! Quote

True... and I guess I feel more safe in the new trains for some reason. Quote
CodyDL Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 When has Mantis received new trains? Never but Its a new style of trains compared to the TOGO trains used on KC. Quote
Browntggrr Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 When has Mantis received new trains? Never but Its a new style of trains compared to the TOGO trains used on KC. Oh, you are comparing two different ride manufacturers in TOGO's 1984 KC trains to B & M's 1996 Mantis trains and simply called them new due to the different design. Quote

Yes, I guess I should of worded it better. Quote
Browntggrr Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I was just at CP a couple weeks ago and thought that the old B & M "hook a male" seat has since changed. Quote

She said she asked a park employee (I know, I know ) and the employee said it was sold. Although I swear she said it was sold to a park in France for some reason... Quote
The Interpreter Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I would like to ride Shockwave now. You are not the only one. Assuming you still do. 3 Quote
