Featured Replies

I can't wait this will be my 1st time to King's Island! I keep hitting the refresh button on the King's Island page. Booked my Hotel yesterday, for the Friday night and Saturday night, since I am coming in from Ontario.

I hope flying. Either way welcome. I think you'll love KI.

One of my best amusement park memories is this couple from Ontario at CP. They had just arrived and a friend and I met them in a short line for Demon Drop. We laughed nearly the whole time. We kept running into them in queues and having those fun 2 minute 'I passed you again' conversations.

Do we have any idea what time check in will be? I will be driving from Indy so I hope its no earlier than 6am!

^^Haha...yeah, I'll be coming from Indy too.

I wasn't planning on waking up at my friend's apt in Cincy on Saturday morning, but depending on when things start, it might have to be that way.

If the rumor is true that details will be release Friday, then I guess we'll find out then, or I could make a prediction.

I can't wait for this event! The event sounds like a lot of fun.

It was said at the winter KIC Event that you would check in at 5am Saturday. The way heard it was that you had to be there then to be apart of it. Not that night or Sunday or any other time. There has been many say they are just going to show when it's convenient for them and I don't think that's going to happen.

I don't know if that's how it will be but that's the way I heard it.

I will be driving it is about a six hour drive for me, but I am sure it will be worth it!

I sure hope not, I'm 4 hours off and simply can't leave for a road trip at 1 AM. I desperately want to go to this but I'm starting to think it won't happen. Oh well, more time with my daughter :)

Sounds like some of my Ivy Tech students plan on registering.

I have never heard of any park organized two day event with such a policy, and I don't think this will be the first one. At Coastermania, one can check in late...at Six Flags Coaster Celebration, one can check in late. You mustn't forget that for the vast majority of attendees, this event is not free...there is a cost. And Cedar Fair does not want to so limit attendance that the thing is a severe money-loser. Moreover, I am sure the park would not want to be in the position that demanding people appear at 5am for an event. I don't even want to imagine what a creative lawyer could do with that one were an attendee from an afar severely injured, or worse, died trying to get to the park in time without incurring the additional costs of lodging an additional day or days.

Pre-registration is a requirement. I doubt that being there at the crack of dawn will be. There are even those who cannot or should not drive at night...

I may have had a little hypothermia and was hearing things but I thought I heard Don say you would need to be out front at 5am.

This may also be true...for the morning ERT, but perhaps not the whole event.

Great to hear!!!!

Here's my question, for a VERY handsome handling and transaction fee, do you think we could work out something were you could go to a Canadian Walmart and get me a few cases of Nestle Pure Life bottled water?

I ask because in the States this is bottled locally, but in the early 2000's for me in Indiana it was bottled in Aberfoyle, ONT, well, sadly that did not last forever!! :(

Last summer I went to Canada twice, and on each trip I stocked up on some cases of this water, and of course now I'm out!! And needless to say compared to where my Nestle is bottled locally, the original cases from Canada last summer were glorious, and honestly out of this 'effing world they were so d*mn good!!

So anyway, would this be something you would be willing to do? Of course I would pay for all of this in advance (including your fee), and like I said I will be at RRW weekend and could get them from you then. Also, at both my board crossings last summer I did not have any trouble taking these cases across, and both times I did have to pop my trunk for a quick search, and didn't have any problems.

Let me know and thanks for your help!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that according to Kings Islands website under the "events" section, there is a new gold pass perk. "Bring a Friend Discount Days" and there are only two of those days, and one happens to be on May 10th, the second day of the event. The park may be packed that day, although it also may NOT be packed, due it being Mother's Day.....

That doesn't sound good. I mean, it's no "bring a friend free" day, but still.

I think they did that last year and the park was still dead on Mothers Day.

i want to go a be a part of the festivities but didnt join up soon enough so ill catch it next year.

I don't know...but what about Diamondback night rides and morning rides!!

I think it would be cool to ride Beast in the early morning with some natural fog throughout the ride and no sunlight yet. pure awesomeness

That would be an experience. Nothing like the chill of the morning and the sunrise still visible while you crest the first hill.

I'm looking forward to this :)

I will likely be coming alone as I'm the only one in the family that has a season pass. I am definitely planning to attend on the 9th, but haven't decided on the 10th yet (depends on what's happening at the event that day, as I will only be able to come after church).

Back a few pages, something was mentioned about a confirmation e-mail. Do we need to do something special for this, or just wait for it? Or did I miss something in entirety?.........( could be )

^^Those details haven't been made available yet.

I think it was sounding like Don would be crossing-referencing with Ryan what KIC members were or were not registered on or before 2/1/09 prior to your RRW check-in.

Seems to me that info may need to come out lickety split in order to properly run this event. We're under a month away and nothing firm has come out. Wouldn't the park like to give people time to plan? I know the date has been set, but for all we know, something may come up and prevent things from happening.

I haven't read through all 18 pages of this thread, so i'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but how will we prove that we're a registered member of KIC when we go to sign up for the event?

We'll have details on that in the near future.

Good enough for me. Thank ya.
