italianchef
I'm quite sure that Paramounts Park can acquire the rights to an Indiana Jones ride. And may I say that Mrs. ItalianChef and I rode the Indiana Jones ride is Anaheim's Disneyland and it rocked! Since AE is a "family" coaster, I don't think that it is thrilling enough to be an "Indiana Jones" roller coaster. BUT.............I think that it would make a superb YOUNG INDIANA JONES roller coaster! What do you fine people think? Sincerely, ItalianChef with a beautiful Japanese Bride
RyanA
Actually, no, Paramount can't acquire the rights, and if they did, who in their right mind would want to waste them on AE. You could build a dark ride or maybe a wooden wild mouse in a tomb or something. I don't mean to be offensive, but it just won't happen. Lucas and Spielberg truly own the rights and they've already got a partnership with Disney for Indy rides. There just so happens to be a backwards looping steel coaster in some disney park in paris I believe that's themed to indy. And as we all know, Indy Jones in Disneyland, or as I like to refer to it, the single greatest ride ever made in amusement park history. I could ride that thing all day. Sadly Disneyworld got crappy Dinsosaur. If they built Indy in Disneyworld, I'd never visit Disneyland again, which is of course why they won't. fyrfyter
With all this talk about theming and retheming, I would be happy if PKI took a year off of adding stuff, and just did a complete renewal of all areas of the park, including theming. Reopen the lower level of TG with a fresh coat of paint, Make the majority of the effects on AE work, and add some intersting plant life in the outside areas of it. Redo Coney Mall so that it still retains the nostaligc look, but is also clean looking and new. Retheme Rivertown so that it actually fits in. Call it Jungle Village or something like that, since there aren't many rivers left in it. Just renew the entire park, and then got back to new rides and adventures for everyone. I think a park face-lift would do some good, and they could even add just one ride along the way.
CoasterKrazy
Amen to that fyrfyter! It would be awesome if PKI took a break from rides next year and just spruced up the park.
Solid Snake
As much as I would love for it to happen, it would never happen.
fyrfyter
And why would it never happen? They could easily add another thrill ride, change a few more restaurants and really spruce up the park theming all in one off season, and the park would be a whole new experience, especially fi they did something with The Paramount Story, like maybe changing out some of the stuff in it to something newer, like some stuff from Tomb Raider or something else fun. Losing Streak
They could spend some money and take care of the bee problem, because it's really a problem. I bet first aid had a really fun day today.
teenageninja
Well the problem with killing bees is that they pollinate things in the park. There is a bee problem yes, but there always has been, it usually lessens as the year goes on.
bingog34
That "Jungle Village" idea is a great idea. The Beast could even be slightly rethemed to fit that. The Beast sounds slightly jungle-y.

Look it, King's Island won't even give us a roller coaster every other year so what makes you think they are gonna revamp the whole park in one? Inraider
I do , and I know they can. Not mention I think thats more needed than any new ride. The park needs to be completely redone (new paints, new lights, better technology, better up keep of theming, take of the rides they already have, imporve the rides they already have and make them the best possible. A sit down resteraunt, new pathways, new plant life, finish the themig on some of the rides "cough, cough *tomb raider* cough, cough *ceilings* cough, cough".) and improved. The park wants a higher rating and higher place on the charts, here's an idea: then start getting the place cleaned up and improve the rides you've already got. quote:"you need to take care of what you already have before you start getting new ones"-parents around the world. The best piece of advise the park could get right now. The new restaraunts are a step in the right direction, but it still has a long way to go. Paramount is finally fixing the damage after years of ignoring it all. But they still don't get it. (hint, hint:IOA and USO repaint everything every night: hint ,hint) Edited January 1, 1970 by Inraider
Return_of_Yogi
Hin Hint...........No They dont. They repaint chipped paint. And mostly because the extreme heat hurts it.
Losing Streak
PKI cannot be compared with Universal or IOA for a number of reasons, most of which SHOULD be obvious. For starters, Orlando is a MAJOR tourist destination, and Mason, Ohio isnt. Not to mention that everything in the park doesn't need to be repainted every night, and chipped paint is a fact of life. You simply can't compare the two, its like apples and oranges.
bingog34
No matter what the cause of chipped paint is, the park can at least repaint chipped things over the off season. That's quite a while, I think they can do it .
Inraider
Apples and Oranges? hardly, I believe we are closer to them than we are Cedar Point or Six Flags. And no, chipped paint is not a part of life, it is a sign that A: Its old and some one has decided not to keep it looking nice;or B: The park is lazy and do not want to keep it looking nice We all know PKI is not lazy, so all that tells me is that they don't want to do it. Which is not an acceptable answer in my eyes. I know I am holding PKI up to a high standard but its rolling with the big dogs now and if it is, then it needs to be treated like it is. Like I said, they are moving in the right direction, but still have a long way to go wtih a lot of things to do. Return_of_Yogi-hint, hint, yes they do. I found out about on Travel Channel. I didn't believe them at first, but then they pictured them doing it at 12:30 at night. Edited January 1, 1970 by Inraider

I saw chipped paint/ worn paint while standing in line for Tomb Raider last year, and the ride wasn't even a year old. So, what does that say? About the whole themeing. I would love to see it happen but like I said it won't but if it is starting to happen then they are going about it all wrong. I keep hearing about this "Bubba Gump [shrimp, I assume]" place. If you are starting to build up and theme your park, why in the blue heck would you add "Bubba Gump Shrimp?" Nothing in the whole park has anything to do with such a thing. It just makes no sense. If ran PKI I would do what has all ready been mintioned. Put a eating area for the kids, in what better place than where the kids are. HBL. Thoughts? teenageninja
Because Bubba Gump shrimp was mentioned in Forrest Gump which is a Paramount movie. It's a big step in getting a nice restaurant at the park.
Return_of_Yogi
Ok i Worked there at one time trust me they dont. Solid Snake
So what. Make restaurant haveing to do something with Scooby-Doo or Tomb Raider. That would seem, to me, to be a big step in the right direction. I just don't get it.
Losing Streak
Isn't it nice to have some diversity, as far as the theming aspects go? I don't want the whole park themed to one thing. Its better to have some variant, and maybe, you know, just maybe, BGSS is a sign of things to come. Maybe the Viking fury will be rethemed into a shrimp boat or something. You don't know. Oktoberfest hasn't been decidedly german for a number of years, nothing is really that german over there anymore anyway, save for the clock on the festhaus and the viking fury. (were the vikings german, anyway?) I say go for it. The park is making a lot of steps in the right direction, except for adding spongebob, and if chipped paint is the worst thing right now, i think the park is doing an awesome job. Its too bad you're too shortsighted to see that.
Solid Snake
That isn't diverse. That is inconsistency and who said the whole park has to be themed to just one thing? I didn't say that. The park is making a lot of steps in the right direction, except for adding spongebob, and if chipped paint is the worst thing right now, i think the park is doing an awesome job. Its too bad you're too shortsighted to see that. WTF! Why in the hell do you single me out? Why do you call me short sighted for disagreeing? You wouldn't know what direction is right or wrong. Spongebob is a hit. Not just for the kids but teenagers to. More so than Scooby Doo and Rugrats.
Losing Streak
It just seems that you're shortsighted for only seeing that the park has chipped paint, or at least thats how i see it. perhaps my sight is short. But, did you not say that the restaurant should be themed to Scooby or TR? Scooby already has a gigantic presance in the park, and TR is on the other side of the park, so neither of those would work. It's not inconsistant. Inconsistancy would be overlap, or selling chinese food and hot dogs in the same place. So what, there's nothing like the Shrimp Shack around it... what relevance do the tower and the carousel have to each other? Conversely, why are SOB and The Beast on opposite sides of the park? It doesn't have to fit in to work. I think its great. Sorry if I singled you out even worse... Sorry about singleing you out in the first place, I guess. CoasterCrazy
kind of off topic but not really was just thinking about the sit downrestrauntts and r theming put the to togther and thought was does wings have to do with rivertown? i.e rivertown old days, Wings and planes relativly new i don't see a picture matcing there. Inraider
No I was banned from Pkiguide.com for other reasons (jacob and I didin't mix well, he didn't like me from the beginning and he still doesn't). I am not the one who always causes trouble, thats simply not true. I just make strong points, at least I think I do. And I will be the first to admit that in this particular forum, I am the minority on a-lot of subjects. A LOT. But I am o.k. with it. Just becuase I constantly disagree, (which I really don't but it sure seems like it on here) doesn't mean I am trying to start fight. I just view PKI in a much different manner than you guys do... teenageninja
Guys stop flaming or this will be closed this is an AE thread. Anyways, has anyone seen any actual changes in theming for AE.
Stitch
I have not seen any new Sceneery for AE yet but I think that they might of put a new rubber snake on Tiki Steve (The skeleton that's impaled right before you get on the lift) lol. I noticed though the spears in the second tunnel (the one before the lift) are timed wrong they start once the train is completely on the lift.
