May 13, 200917 yr My sister said that SOB was permanently closed because someone was stupid enough to not use the safety features of the ride (like lap belt, etc.). Is this true? Because I'd like to try SOB with the new trains. Also, my first post.
May 13, 200917 yr Welcome to KIC, this is the place to slash and discuss those rumors that are out there. I can tell you SOB was operating on Saturday.
May 13, 200917 yr Welcome, and please use the search. Son of Beast is closed right now, as the park is not open. When the park is open, Son of Beast almost always is, too....
May 13, 200917 yr Now guys, hookyboysb came on here to get an honest answer from the people who know the park best. Let's be curtious to our new member!
May 13, 200917 yr Son of Beast is indeed open to the public when the park is open. They did have an accident back in 2006, but everything was taken care of. It opened back up on July 4, 2007, almost a year after it closed.
May 13, 200917 yr Yes it is open.It did have an accident in 2006,but if you try to tell the ops that, they will yell at you,and tell you to stop spreading stuff like that. Grrrr.
May 13, 200917 yr Author I couldn't use the search because using words that have less than 3 letters makes you try again. And searching just "Beast" brings up a bunch of topics about The Beast. So SOB is still running? Great! But it's probably overshadowed by DB though. And I know about the accident in 2006. There was a rumor recently that SOB was closed because someone fell out and died.
May 13, 200917 yr No one has died on Son of Beast. Many prob. felt like they were going to but know one has.
May 13, 200917 yr Sadly, Son of Beast is currently open. Son of Beast isn't that bad. Sadly the Crypt is still open too
May 13, 200917 yr I have to admit, I tried front seat blue train, and it didn't hurt my back too badly.
May 13, 200917 yr Somebody fell out of Flight Commander - a "flat ride" - many years ago and died. It was a very sad happening. They say the lady was either drunk or high. She DID NOT follow directions. I have heard that people have fallen out of almost every ride in the park - probably even the toilets! NOT TRUE! No one has fallen out of a coaster at Kings Island EVER. While you're there, ride them all!
May 13, 200917 yr Diamondbutt is mine! I came up with it! But I realy did. My first "Diamondbutt" post is in CedarPointer's siginuture.
May 13, 200917 yr I can tell you SOB was operating on Saturday. Sad, but true. Would anyone care to join me in a session of playing with matches somewhere in the general vicinity of Son of Beast?
May 13, 200917 yr "If Son of Beast ever burned down, I wouldn't cry. I'd take a hot dog stick, some hot dogs, and go have lunch over in Action Zone."
May 13, 200917 yr That's about the size of things. That would be a great closing to our KIC Bday/Graduation party! KID Ride Warriors Corps Weenie Roast!
May 13, 200917 yr "If Son of Beast ever burned down, I wouldn't cry. I'd take a hot dog stick, some hot dogs, and go have lunch over in Action Zone." If Son of Beast ever burned down, i'd cry. I really would, I love that ride.
May 13, 200917 yr Not to mention several of you are going to have to face up to Angrybeaver, who will be very angry with some of you...

I really would, I love that ride. As someone said over the weekend (I really want to say it was Angie, although I have a little voice in the back of my head telling me i'm wrong) I enjoy coasters. I don't enjoy a coaster where I have to ride in a certain seat or i'd have to call a chiropractor.
May 13, 200917 yr But if others do, why begrudge them the opportunity? If the majority ruled, many coasters you will come to love would have been removed long ago....
May 13, 200917 yr Yes you all would have to answer to angrybeaver. I think he might throw matches at you guys if you did that to his baby.

May 13, 200917 yr But if others do, why begrudge them the opportunity? If the majority ruled, many coasters you will come to love would have been removed long ago.... As always, you leave me with no argument Either you're really good at this, or i'm really bad at this.
May 13, 200917 yr As someone said over the weekend (I really want to say it was Angie, although I have a little voice in the back of my head telling me i'm wrong) I enjoy coasters. I don't enjoy a coaster where I have to ride in a certain seat or i'd have to call a chiropractor. KJKJKJ or Ashers said that when we were walking to Flight Deck.. And after that flight deck ride, i needed one.. I even have a bruise.
May 14, 200917 yr Author I can tell you SOB was operating on Saturday. Sad, but true. Would anyone care to join me in a session of playing with matches somewhere in the general vicinity of Son of Beast? Now that's true to the area's name. Thanks for the replies, everyone.

You would be right depending on what seats your comaring.. Example: Vortex back seat compared to SOB front seat.. SOB is smoother in my opinion.
May 14, 200917 yr No. I always( and I mean every time) ride in the back seat. On Vortex, I ride 8-1. I don't know what it is about me but I just don't think SoB is rough.
