April 8, 201313 yr I had someone tell me that The Beast was running a train backwards, I kindly told them that it was The Racer running one train backwards. Did they mean this year...if so, recaR ehT, isn't either. No, that was about 4-5 years ago. or (When ever they were running The Racer backwards last.)
April 8, 201313 yr I once heard 4 Kentuckians debating on whether or not Cedar Point was in Indiana or Ohio. They came to the conclusion that it was barely on the Ohio side of the border line.
April 8, 201313 yr How about the one they get rid of the King Cobra because it killed some one. I have also heard the one of Cedar Point moving The Bat.
June 23, 201313 yr A Columbus Zoo food service employee to a guest who tried to order a soft drink: "Water's better for you. What size do you want?" The guest answered, then left with a cup of water.
June 23, 201313 yr Last year my dad asked me, "How was Paramount's Kings Island? Did you ride King Cobra?"

June 23, 201313 yr I'm at Put-In-Bay. A 20 some year old girl and her girlfriend, both of whom are drunk, ask, "Pardon me, sir, but do you know where the Monument is?" I point behind them, they look and say, "Oh, you mean that silo?" Can you guess their hair color?
June 25, 201313 yr Author I got asked the other day if The Racer had been removed. People hear a coaster was removed and think it is the oldest one in the park!
July 25, 201313 yr Author Got asked a few days ago if Kings Island was still open. I thought they meant daily operations, but they meant permanently. Must had been confused with Kentucky Kingdom.
July 25, 201313 yr Was doing security for a steampunk event, and one guys costume had an officer's missilier badge (people responsible for turning the key to bring hell on Earth). I stopped him and asked him about it, his story said he retired as an E-4 (Senior Airman, 3-ish years minimum service, max I think is 10?), and was in the bunker (officers job, not enlisted). I had my fun letting him ramble on and tell lies, then pulled out true military jargon every one of us knows, and he was all confused. I love catching people in lies, especially when it involves the military, posers **** me off way too much.
July 26, 201313 yr Today's replies from The Twilight Zone: So, ALCON, your BLUF was not to his liking? VR TERP You forgot the rest of your signature block And do you guys send it as VR, we use V/R, then your signature block....Never seen it just VR coming down from Flt/CCC & stuff
July 26, 201313 yr Got asked a few days ago if Kings Island was still open. I thought they meant daily operations, but they meant permanently. Must had been confused with Kentucky Kingdom. "Sorry folks! We're closed for 2 weeks to clean and repair America's favorite family fun park! Sorry! Yuh-huh-yuh-huh-yuh-huh!" "Sorry folks! Parks closed. The moose out front should have told ya!"
July 28, 201313 yr My cousin swore he heard SOB crash trains from his house all the time, including once when a train derailed completely during testing.
July 29, 201313 yr I saw a Youtube comment from somebody claiming they were at Kings Island the day The Bat had its accident. Lucky Son of a Beast. I wish I had LSD and a TARDIS like he does...
August 9, 201313 yr A FB friend made a status this morning proudly proclaiming that "Kings Island is tearing down Son of Beast and getting an inverted stratacoaster!"
August 9, 201313 yr Author Someone said to me earlier today that they took out The Beast for a new coaster. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since they had the "Beast" part right! I did set them straight that it was the Son not the original!

When I was in the army back in 1974, you had to be in service at least 3 years before being promoted to the specialist rank (E4) and then only if you reenlisted for at least another 3 years. They were not going to spend the time and effort to train you and promote you unless you agreed to more time in service. This poseur was lucky he was in "costume" for that event as if he was in uniform or part of with those badges (unearned) and being on a military base, he would really be sweating when you ask him for his military ID. You would think before he wore those badges, he would had spent more time in researching it more. If he is going to be a poseur, at least spend some time and effort in it and have a decent story behind it. But now, what poseur would say he retired as an E-4? You retire when you have served at least 20 years and if he was only an E4 after that long in service, he would had been dumped a long time ago. I was a 16 Bravo (Nike Missile Crewman)
August 9, 201313 yr So, I excitedly reported to a friend at work about the new Banshee. I spouted off specs and superlatives like the proud KICer that I am, heralding this magnificent, new attraction that will make us all proud, and will surely bring much good to my favorite park ever. What does the guy do? I mean, of the billion possible combinations of words this guy could have pieced together into an intelligent response to my well-articulated pitch, what do you suppose he chose to say? "Well, what do you think of Cedar Point? Have you been up there at all?" rrrRRAAAaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!
August 9, 201313 yr ^ THIS. It happens to me all the time! It doesn't matter how much you talk about about literally any other ride on the planet--people are sure that your lack of raving over Top Thrill Dragster is a sure sign that you've clearly never heard of Cedar Point.
August 10, 201313 yr Today I was watching the animated Banshee rendering on Youtube and someone commented "Wow, why does it look all animated". I guess "Coming April 2014" doesn't tell them anything useful?
August 10, 201313 yr Some years back, I went to Media Day for Kingda Ka. I excitedly told friends at work about the coaster, including that it was the tallest, fastest coaster in the world. A young lady informed me I needed to get to Cedar Point, where the tallest, fastest coaster REALLY was. Magnum. Yes...Magnum.
August 10, 201313 yr Don't know if this counts or not, but after Kings Island updated their cover photo Thursday night on Facebook, I saw several people comment "new ride??" or "wait, they're building a new ride??"My thought: have you all been living under a rock since at least April??? lol
August 11, 201313 yr Don't know if this counts or not, but after Kings Island updated their cover photo Thursday night on Facebook, I saw several people comment "new ride??" or "wait, they're building a new ride??" My thought: have you all been living under a rock since at least April??? lol Most of the general public doesn't visit the park multiple times a year, and even if they do people are oblivious and unaware of their surroundings. To contribute something worthwhile to the thread I'll tell a story about earlier this week. A co-worker and I were talking about what came to be known as Banshee and he eventually asked me "have you been to Six Flags?". I didn't know how to answer at first and I suggested that there are more than one park with that name. He insisted that it was only Six Flags and started talking about Goliath, which narrowed the choices down considerably. I took a gamble and fired off "Magic Mountain?". Still insisting that the parks name was only Six Flags he told me about many rides he tried there. I opened RCDB on my phone and explained that Six Flags wasn't only one location but a chain.
August 30, 201312 yr My wife and I are in Wilmington, IL visiting her family and I bring up the Six Flags in Gurnee. My Wife asks "Is that owned by Cedar Fair?"
August 30, 201312 yr I stopped at an old friends house after picking up my daughter from school and his teenage daughter was telling me how she is going to CP with her friend this weekend and how nervous they are about riding the huge coasters. I told her that she should start out on Maverick because its not very tall. She took the bait! After she leaves the room my buddy says, " One crazy ride I'm guessing"? I reply, "Yep"!

She'll either be scarred for life or ready for anything after that.
August 30, 201312 yr That's what she gets for making fun of me when I told her I went to CP Sunday by myself while the family was swimming at the hotel. She looked at me like I was a big loser. Snobby little teenager quote, " Why would you ride the coasters by yourself, didn't you feel weird?" My reply, " Don't you have some friends to text or something?" Sigh... Some people just don't get it.
