Mr.Smiley Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I prefer to sit in 7-1 because to me there is alot more airtime down the first drop, you feel like your being pulled down it. Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 You know, I don't care for The Vortex, but when I ride it, I have to go with row 1-1/1-2 doesn't matter. Quote
Hoeter Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I always make sure to sit in 5-1 no matter what the wait is for that particular seat. That is the very seat in which Ron Toomer designed the ride around. Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I enjoy the feeling of 'driving' the coaster, so I always try for 1-1-left side on any coaster (where the choice is possible). Quote
CedarPointer Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Personally, I love 5-1, but 7-1 or 1-1 will sufice if the line for 5-1 is too long. Quote
Dvo Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 7-1 every time. So much airtime on the first drop. Quote
TheCryptRaider Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 7-1! I love the first drop so much in that seat. Quote
KI Kevin Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 What's so great about 5-1? I didn't recognize it as being any smoother than 1-1. That's my favorite, because zooming above that arrow track is the best. Quote

I mean i'm torn between 1-1 and 7-1 but went with 7-1 cuz its amazing airtime that you wouldn't even believe! lol but honestly i rode 5-1... i dont get whats to great about it? if anything i feel like it throws me around more than any other seat... IndyGuy4KI Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 1-1 and 5-1 are good, but I voted 7-1 all the way baby!! Quote
rotag Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I ride 7-2, but if with a freind I will go 7-1. Quote
TOPGUN1993 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 How can you not like the leg room? 7-1 vs 7-2 Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 7-1 for me too. I love 7-1 and always ride in this row. I will do 1-1 from time to time. And I can't stand the back seats of arrow loopers, no leg room what so ever. Quote
dragsterfan420 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 7-1 for the win. Good leg room plus great airtime on the first drop. Quote
CincyMan98 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I don't pay attention to rows. I don't even understand what 1-1 and 1-2 and all that crap means. But, whatever. I usually just sit right, exactly in the middle which I'm guessing is 5-2? Quote
Justin_M17 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, or 7-1. As long as I get one of these seats, I couldn't care less which one. I need the leg room Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I don't pay attention to rows. I don't even understand what 1-1 and 1-2 and all that crap means. But, whatever. I usually just sit right, exactly in the middle which I'm guessing is 5-2? The first number is the car number. There are seven cars. The second number is the row number of that car. There are two rows in each Vortex car. If you sit in the exact middle, you must be sitting in either row 7 or or row 8 of the entire train, which would be either 4-1 or 4-2. If you were in the EXACT middle of the train, you'd have to sit between row 4-1 and 4-2! Quote
maverick2007 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The pnly seat I will ride on Vortex is 5-1. The reason it is so great is the fact that there is no headbanging. If you look at the people sitting in 4-2 while riding 5-1 there heads are banging like... well... they were riding an Arrow looper. Not in 5-1! Quote

TheKlockster Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 71 for maximum airtime and leg room. 11 if early in the morning - the experience is just really cool. Quote
Mr. Coastermania Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Discuss.1-1 i love the front seat view. Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 For me, no matter what coaster it is, it's either front seat or backseat. Front seat I love, because as Thrill Biscuit said it's cool do 'drive' the coaster. You can see everything and it's like the ride is all yours. Back Seat is fantastic because of the amazing forces they usually provide. Positive, Negative, Lateral, you're being dragged through the ride so your at the mercy of the coaster. On Vortex, 7-1 wins. The airtime on the first drop is amazing and the forces on the loops are sick. I tried 5-1 a few weeks ago, and yes there's a bit less headbanging, but the rest of the ride is meh. Zero airtime, barely any forces, it just, doesn't stand out to me like 7-1 does. Quote
DropZone99 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 7-1 is the best. It's the smoothest seat out of the whole train(s). On the little drop into the turn out of the lift hill you get a second of airtime, than you turn and on the 138ft. drop you get some of the best floater air ever, better than Diamondback's. The turn around is just about the same in any seat, only it's smoother in 7-1. The double loop is alot of fun in back seat, you can see the front seat when at the top of the loop. It's also fun to look to your side out of the car during the loops and watch the park go upside down. The turn after the loop isn't as bad in 7-1 cause right when your turning into it, the front seat just hit the brakes so you go through it slower. You get a little bit of airtime out of the MCBR, and in the Double Corkscrew you get thrown around in a good way and you get some floater air. Than you hit your head going out of the final corkscrew into the drop no matter what seat. You feel like your going to hit your head on a branch going into the batwing! The batwing is about the same in any seat to me, and same with the final helix. Quote
rsipus13 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 both of the front seats are good because of the room you get from the seat Quote
