KI posted to their Twitter page a link to the 2010 operating schedule. The calendar page can be found right here. They are once again staying open until midnight on every Saturday in July and the first Saturday in August. But, I'm surprised they aren't staying open until midnight on July 4th. Also, there are three Sundays and three Thurdays each during October that KI will operate Halloween Haunt until midnight (I guess those Thurdays and Sundays did okay last year).

Edit: Also, I wonder how this schedule will change if the sale to Apollo goes through?

Really no surprises there. I'm glad to see they're operating Fridays in May again this year, if I don't go to at least one of the "Walk-On Mania May" days, I'll kick myself.

From what I have been told the Midnight closes went very well. I wasn't surprised when I saw that the park was going to repeat the 12am closes in July.

1. July is when the park is in full swing.

2. Sat is the parks most busy day.

Can't wait till Spring time.

Yes, the noon openings on Saturdays began this past year. However, the park did open at 11am on Sundays in October in 2009. In 2010, they will be opening at 12pm on both days.

In addition, the first 10pm closing occurs a lot earlier in 2010 than it did in 2009. In 2009, the park didn`t have a 10pm close until the Friday of Memorial Day weekend (May 25th). In 2010, the first day the park is open on Saturday, April 17th it will close at 10pm, and every Friday and Saturday thereafter the park will close at 10pm until daily operation begins. And, they are open every Friday in April and May starting with the 5pm opening on Friday April 23.

I like the new schedule. Only question that remains is will these hours be changed if new management takes over?

IF new management takes over, you can bet every aspect of park operations will be revisited with an eye towards, primarily but among other things, cutting costs and/or increasing profit.

Aww, the park is closed Sunday April 18th. Guess I'm waiting until the following weekend to make the four hour drive worth while.

Many businesses will have their 4th of July holiday "vacation day" on Friday, July 2nd and not Monday the 5th. I can see why the park would not be open late on a Sunday when many people will have to be at work on Monday morning.

But that still begs the question of why not have the park open till midnight on the 2nd.

Thats what they wanted you to think, (at least the second thursday). That day hardly rained, and it was only a chance to begin with. From what i remember a lot of people mentioned staffing issues. Needless to say, i was ****ed i planned to go both thursdays and both were closed.

Yes, I'm well aware that both were cancelled, as I was ready to work them and got the call from my supervisor both times that we would be closed. Whether the second one being cancelled is "rediculous" (sic) is your opinion.

I am pretty sure the reason for closing at 10 this year is because the day before ,the 4th, is Saturday, it closes at 12. Most of the time, people are off on the 4th, but not the 5th. A lot of people will not stay untill 12 because they have work in the morning.

Yay extra days to work at Haunt. I be in heaven if they just stayed open all week though. Hey I can dream!

^And if they did that, I would most likely not work Haunt. Having a day job 8:15 - 5:00 Mon - Fri and then working Haunt every night would be painful. I can handle Thursday - Sunday!

Thank you to both Terpy and CoastersRZ for clearing that up for me. I really do like the new schedule and that means only processing days to go until the park opens up for the 2010 season. It's inching ever so closer.

On KI's Twitter, it was announced today that:

Season pass processing will begin April 1 at the park. Hours will be 4-8pm Mon-Fri and from 11am-7pm Sat-Sun. Opening Day is April 17.

I see both farie's & gator's perspectives on haunt all week long. As awesome as it would be to do a job you love like that all week long, it would drain the scaractor after a while. The week in between those 4 days works nicely to recoup for the following weekend.

Thanks for the update on season pass processing. I do find it funny that it starts on april fools day, so I believe I will wait till the following day.

Odd that it begins on a Thursday... but I can think of one reason why that would be, since that is the beginning of the month.

Yeah. Its likely because it is the beginning of the month. I don`t have to worry, since I already got my 2010 Platinum pass back in October. Hopefully, when I go to KI for the first time this year, it will not be my first use of the pass this year.

It is not just the beginning of a month, but also the beginning of a quarter....
