coaster_junky Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 i was thinking more of this, from one of my favorite musicals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgL6nZ2hYXA not technically "downtown" but it says it a lot.
IBEW_Sparky Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I thought the park replaced skid row with north and south poles about 9 years ago?
06jds377 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Not even is the ride no longer called Manhattan Express (see: Roller Coaster at NYNY), it isn't even a standup. Didn't see where anyone had pointed this out.. It IS a TOGO, and a pretty darn good coaster too..
SOB_TOM Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Lets also mention that TOGO went out of business.....
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 ...or, we could read post 14 of this very thread: http://www.KICentral...ndpost&p=364398 Terp, ribbing Tom...
Adventure Express Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I'd absolutely love a stand up at Kings Island... oh well
Ironite Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I'd absolutely love a stand up at Kings Island... oh well get B&M on the Line
BeastForever Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I'd really not want a stand-up at KI. I rode Mantis at Cedar Point and it was HORRIBLE.
windshawne Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I'd really not want a stand-up at KI. I rode Mantis at Cedar Point and it was HORRIBLE. There's a trick to riding a stand up-you bend your knees a little and just stand against the back board. I like them personally-they are adjustable to height and weight and very accomodating to most.

Still, no thanks. I'd rather have a Dive-Machine. From what I know from waiting in line for Mantis, stand-ups seem to have a very low capacity.
flightoffear1996 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I was at Cedar Point last weekend and they were able to move the entire line full of people in 45 minutes.
calakapepe Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Same here, I was there last saturday and sunday, but the line was only 10 minutes at the most... And I found Mantis quite fun, it feels more aggressive than Chang. Which is odd, but then again the trims were off And I don't see what's so horrible about a stand up, windshawne, could you explain? Was it tiring on your legs? I would love a stand-up; does B&M still hold the rights to stand ups? Because last I heard intamin's not allowed to make one... and B&M's not making fair use of their "rights"
flightoffear1996 Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 There is at least one intamin stand up that is operational that I know of.
jdawg1998 Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 What are the height restrictions for stand ups like Mantis and Chang?
calakapepe Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Most brilliant application ever. ^^ Bookmarked

Because last I heard intamin's not allowed to make one... and B&M's not making fair use of their "rights" That's very odd....I don't think it's one of those things parks consider when buying rides...B and M is not one togo profitless when there is money to be made, either. Parks buy what they want, and manufacturers make what they are comfortable with and can sell.
Oldschool75 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I'm just wondering why this topic has not been locked. There is no TOGO anymore, so no possibility of this topic being true. Well unless you have a flux capacitor and you can hit 88 mph!
The Interpreter Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 You could try reading posts 14, 64 and 65! This thread? Why would you suggest it's time for it togo? Why CHANGe now? Terp, told he is good at standup

The Interpreter Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Everything old is new again... Off we go, back to the future. Terpy, serious adorer of DeLoreans....
chaddie Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Everything old is new again... Off we go, back to the future. Terpy, serious adorer of DeLoreans.... Terpy, do you think it is bad that I cannot find my flux capacitor anywhere?
The Interpreter Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I think it went to....Florida. At least one of the DeLoreans did! It's Back to the Future itself I cannot find down there...
The Interpreter Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Even old Terp must make a pilgrimage to the home park occasionally!
pkiboy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Even old Terp must make a pilgrimage to the home park occasionally! Make sure its a Good Plunge Terp .
