Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

This girl in my class claims that she has rode this ride. She says that she works games and that since she works there that she gets to ride it before everyone else. She also said that she rode a two weeks ago. For one, i don't think it's even been cleared to the public to run. For two, serious testing just started yesterday. I know there is no way she has rode it... it's impossible... Obviously. But I just wanted to make sure that it is... Before i rip on her ;)

I say rip away!

Right now WindSeeker is just going up and down. No spinning as far as I can tell. I know that there is pretty much zero chance of it being open tomorrow but could you imagine? It would be great :P

Did she ride it before all the seats were on?

I haven't seen anyone post a picture of the carriage at the top of the tower, so I will.

From yesterday evening.

Did she by chance ride it via youtube?

If she is a park employee she needs to be careful when making statements like these. She could lose her job over this if management finds out about it. And yes, it is impossible for her to have ridden the ride already. Humans aren't allowed to ride until the state clears it and as far as I know humans + water dummies are not allowed riding the ride at the same time. (waiting for a joke to be made)

Does that mean I'll have to ride by myself? :rimshot

Perhaps she sat in it when no one was looking? A motionless ride? ha

Park employees often get to ride before the public, but I doubt any higher ups have even been allowed to ride yet. Maybe they needed a test "dummy"

Don't know any rules, but wasn't there a video of people riding Timberliners on voyage with water dummies also on the train.

Not sure about that, never saw it. It may be different when it comes to different parks. But from what I remember being told when Diamondback was going through testing that was the case. Things may have changed!

It's nice to see WindSeeker testing today!

I remember the Voyage pictures as well. There were water dummies in the front half or so of the train and two people riding in the very back if I remember correctly.

Haha! Really? That's hilarious!

At CP in the early/late season when it's cooler out, Millie's test runs have the water dummies in so it doesn't volley with the op in it.

Thanks for that TombRaiderFTW. I find it interesting that they were allowed to ride with water dummies. Of course the ride was already operational and commissioned. I don't see KI letting someone ride with water dummies on a ride that hasn't been deemed operational and commissioned by the state. Could be a CF policy or state policy, if a policy at all.

Well I don't know who the other was, but a Koch was riding. I assume you might be able to get past laws if you legally own the ride.

In the state of Ohio, the ride does not have to be certified by the Department of Agriculture in order for park employees to ride.

The "other" would be Mike Graham of The Gravity Group. The Gravity Group designed The Voyage. As far as ownership making you above the law... I know no facts, but I'm doubtful that's the case.

Yep, and we have had the pleasure of doing such a thing before.

It is not open to the public yet. If it were, the park would have announced it. The only "people" on it would be the water dummies.
