markhudson17
hmmmm....WindSeeker cam is down. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm I find it odd, since the other cams are working

mikejenkins1
After seeing the CW WindSeeker in test mode, they are way ahead of others. I still expect them to be first but maybe not due to CP/Ohio is the homestead.
DropZone99
Via Kings Island's facebook. Rumors claiming it's Canada's Wonderland's WindSeeker but people are also saying KI's has been testing today!

Cody
Via Kings Island's facebook. Rumors claiming it's Canada's Wonderland's WindSeeker but people are also saying KI's has been testing today! That is the one from CW, Remember Kings Island didn't post that picture, a guy from Ontario, Canada did.
mikejenkins1
yeah they had their tower built before KI even started theirs. I thought back then that maybe CW was going to be the first to open.
mikejenkins1
Well watching the Fox19 time lapse cam this morning and notice a crane on site and doing something about 1/3 the way up on the tower. Could support the theory of technical issues or not. So are they waiting on State Inspection before they can test it?

Hopefully it was so they can start testing!
Diamondback1997
I noticed that in the afternoon today on the webcam, WindSeeker barely rose off the ground but then stopped and sat in that spot for about an hour before it was lowered back down to its original place. This was only about 10 ft up the tower though. I am starting to believe they are having technical difficulties when they attempt to test the ride. Why would they just rise the carriage 10 ft off the gound then let it stay in its place for an hour, then lower it? We will just have to wait and see what happens over the course of the next few days.
dr_humor
Anyone who does not know is on a need-to-know basis. Describing, in detail, what is going on would be akin to describing exactly what is wrong when a ride breaks down. Do they do that? No. Is it frustrating? Yes. HTCO
There is a reason they do not tell you what is wrong with the ride, even if it is frustrating.
Avatar
I was thinking about Dinosaurs Alive and WindSeeker both opening this year and wonder if they knew about the addition of Dinosaurs Alive when they made the announcement would they have named it something different than WindSeeker. Like Time Warp or something Dinosaur like. Maybe not but I thought it was fun to at least wonder about that.

Just wonder if that were the case, wonder if the other 3 parks would follow suit, although Wonderland already has a coaster named Time Warp. Outdoor Man
even if that isn't it- when my family and I were there Saturday night they had the "water" dummies on the seats hoisted about 15 feet off the ground... so they're going to be testing soon, if not already. SOB_TOM
Or they could be testing whether or not the ride can hold weight above the ground. It's been in that same spot for close to a week.
flightoffear1996
This might seem stupid but do you think they are maybe streching the cables out?
CoastersRZ
Stretching the cables out generally comes over time. It is not a near instantaneous process, but a gradual one. Just like Niagara Falls is slowing retreating every year because of erosion. (It erodes about a foot per year, although certain changes to the river, including hydroelectric, are slowing that down to a rate of one foot per ten years. frisbeefan
Looks like WindSeeker is testing a little bit higher up the tower today. This was from a few minutes ago: EDIT: 1- hour time lapse camera : Fox 19.

frisbeefan
I wouldn't think it would be open this weekend, but I'm just speculating. I would think they have quite a bit of testing to do to ensure all aspects of the ride work properly.
