KILateNighter Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Does anyone have any tips on keeping belongings with you on roller coasters without losing them, I have already lost one cell phne that fell out of my pocket? Quote
HTCO Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. Cargo shorts with buttons/zippers. -or- Fanny Pack. Quote
rotag Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 if you have sewing skillz, get regular shorts & make your own pockets with zippers. its cheaper that way & you'll feel a since of accomplishment. Quote

SOB_TOM Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 And look like a dork while walking around the park My best advice is definitely cargo shorts. Quote
corn4ahead Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Zipper pockets. I dont trust buttons lol Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 You can't have enough carabiners. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Leave the cellphone at home or in the car! Terp aka Luddite on some things...and who is always amazed at how much paraphernalia people bring to parks (and then rent lockers to store!) Quote
Creed Bratton Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Echoing everyone else pretty much: Cargo Shorts (Zippers). I'd leave the cell phone in the car if possible. The less you take into the park, the better. Quote

rotag Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 And look like a dork while walking around the park My best advice is definitely cargo shorts. while you do have a point, you go to a park for fun anyway; why not look silly in the prosses??? -this coming from a man of weird taste. EDIT: found a shot with my modified shorts. Quote

If you fall out of a coaster I don't think she would be able to get a hold of you anyway. Quote
Snowman Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 STAPLES!!! Just look for a midget in wrestling tights running around the park with a staple gun, (not my joke, the park will be promoting this during the Haunt) and ask him to help you out. Quote
Flat Freak Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Depending on whether we are going to Boomerang Bay that day, I either wear: 1) Swimsuit (board shorts) with deep pockets 2) Cargo shorts with deep pockets I leave my wallet in the car. I leave my keys in the car. In a Ziploc bag in my pocket, I carry cellphone, spare key for car, cash. (Ziploc bag is in case we do a water ride to protect contents.) Streamlined. Quote
jcgoble3 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 [...] I leave my keys in the car. [...] That's a good way to get your car stolen. I used a waist pack last season, but I may look into cargo shorts this year. Quote

KIanatic1975 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I wear cargo shorts. Or I usually hand it to someone else with me that won't ride any coasters. Quote

Yes because if you fall out of a roller coaster, you will be able to call your mom. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 As other people have said, cargo shorts are the way to go. I have several pairs of shorts that for several reasons I find more comfortable than the cargo shorts I have. Unfortunately those shorts didn't have zippered pockets. So what I did was put iron-on velcro on the inside edge of the pockets of those shorts, and that worked very successfully for me all season last year! And back in my day, we didn't have cell phones. So when our parents dropped us off at the park, they gave us a time to meet them at the pick up area... and if we didn't meet them at the designated time, there was hell to pay! 1 Quote
LordSkippy Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I have never had a problem with losing personal belongings on a roller coaster or other ride. However, I would also suggest cargo pants, or at least pants with very deep pockets. Quote
IBEW_Sparky Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Yeah, the only time I ever had an issue at all, was opening season of DB, when the restraint stapled me after the 2nd drop, and ended up pushing the V Cast button on my touchscreen phone and bought some goofy Black Eyed Peas song without my knowledge! LOL The only time I can see a cell in the pocket of a pair of jeans or jeanshorts being a potential loss item is if its something HUGE like the Droid X. Quote
Flat Freak Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 So what I did was put iron-on velcro on the inside edge of the pockets of those shorts Quoted for GOOD IDEA. I might get one pair of cargo shorts, do this, and designate them my park pants. [/showing my age] Quote
pcc Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 This topic amuses me for many reasons. When shopping for skirts, I always look for that 'perfect coaster skirt'. My family members shop with that in mind too I try to buy things with zipper pockets. My usual park skirt has seen better days, so, I have plans on modifying one with iron-on velcro in the pockets. My husband usually wears cargo pants, but I do need my phone. I keep a baggy with me at all times too, in case it rains or I decide to get wet. Velcro and plastic. The answer to all of life's problems. Quote

Dieseltech20 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Don't forget that if someone is kidnapped, odds are they won't be making any phone calls either. Quote
