Went to the park today and rode Flight Deck. Anyone notice that on the brake run before the train comes back to the station that they seem to have painted the ground to look like the topside of an aircraft carrier's flight deck? Kind of looks like this: http://images-mediawiki-sites.thefullwiki.org/01/2/8/1/83638494251470715.gif

Nice to see that ride getting some love. The landing strip looks really cool if you ride in the front seat.

Ever since those seatbelts have been installed, I've been in too much pain by the end of that ride to actually look anywhere. Hate being tall....

I noticed this too. Anyone else notice the new sign they have posted about halfway through the line? It separates the entrance from exit and gives better instructions on what to do.

Figured I wasn't the only tall one on here. I definitely understand what you mean about the pain.

I can't believe I rode this twice last Monday and didn't notice anything mentioned in this thread. BTW, I think I FD is easily my second favorite ride in the park. So fun.

I noticed that today. It appears to have been created with colored tape and adds some character to the otherwise-bland brake-run.

Sorry for the bad picture, but it's hard to get a shot of it.

I am usually a back seat rider but 1-1 is the best seat on FD in my opinion.

The finally repainted the whole ride and added a noteworthy detail to the brake run.

I'm willing to say "thank you" sans repainted handrails. :P Besides, that's a whole lot of handrails! That's not necessarily first on my dream to-do list.

I understand! but it's the small details that make a big difference.

Niggling detail, but the "rusty" looking metal isn't a handrail at all, it's an electrical conduit running on the exterior perimeter of the structure, which may not be able to be painted. B)

when i was there yesterday, they had gotten a model plane and some missiles and were painting them as que theming. it was in the last turn around area thats off limits right before you go up that last set of stairs... i also noticed the flight deck, pretty cool!

:o :o :o :o :o

Flight of Fear. The Crypt. Flight Deck. Dinosaurs Alive. Songs on Drop Zone and Delirium.

Methinks the theme is back at Kings Island.

And it's only going to get better...

I think they should re-route the line back through there for some more effect. even if it would be more walking distance. This is a good step, although I find it to be barely much. I guess I will always miss the good old days of walking through the Top Gun pictures and whatnot

They might if the line were actually long enough to warrant that, but there's rarely more than a one or two train wait for any seat on that ride these days.

Fourth of July weekend last year, I believe definitely warranted the extra queue. I think I remember seeing pictures stretching as far back as where the SOB sign used to be. (that was on the first turn of the entrance queue for SOB)
