rip-phantomtheater
I was reading an online article, and the author said it could be a rumor but Top Gun might be torn down to make way for a larger B&M coaster, apperantly the worlds largest with the most inversions... Cpt Crunch
One word: No. What would make you think this was even 40% true?

rip-phantomtheater
Just a rumor, just wondering if anyone else heard this...
The Interpreter
Sounds to me like the kind of thing a Roller Coaster Tycoon park builder would say. let's see, there's that non-running wood thing, add that space beside it.... Yeah, right. Or is it? Iron Wolf moving? Who'd a thunk it? Big behemoth of a leviathan coming to a park with the former already?
diamondhawk
Yeah I think that is 99.9% false. You can never be sure.
coasterfanatic83
Why would they re-paint it and add some more theming to it if they were planning on tearing it down in a few years?
The Interpreter
See King Cobra? (I am NOT saying Flight Deck is to soon suffer the same fate, but King Cobra got a nice new paint job, was put up for sale, got no acceptable offers, and was demolished. King Cobra
I felt so unwanted
CoastersRZ
You forgot to add the fact, that the King Cobra received its fresh coat of paint for the 1999 season. It only lasted three full seasons after getting its paint job. It was removed at the beginning of the 2002 season (it didn`t operate that season, and the last few pieces were removed the first few weekends the park was open in 2002. markr
I heard about it from the Dippin Dots guy. ( Can't believe it-for once I beat everyone to the Dippin Dots joke.)
BeastForever
I highly doubt Flight Deck being torn down. Kings Island has to have at least one suspendend rollercoaster!
Snowman
I highly doubt Flight Deck being torn down. Kings Island has to have at least one suspendend rollercoaster! kingsrattler
Suspended Arrows (that sounds like a fun ride all in of itself) are a dying breed. Just a question, are there any others left other than FD at KI and ID at CP? EDIT: answered my own question with a quick search on rcdb... there are 5 total operating. coaster_junky
http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8300 six are still standing, but of them only five are open.
RailRider
Top Gun errr Flight Deck will eventually be torn down, see Big Bad Wolf. Anytime soon? I doubt it, unless they want to shut the Action Zone down and let the animals return. Also while we are covering rumors Vortex is not sinking, but SoB remains SBNO. Tanna
Flight Deck never fails to make me nauseous. It takes the long walk back to the park to get over it. The Bat never did that to me.
Hendrick
The Bat and Flight Deck are completely different. Age might even be a factor. I'm in my twenties, but I've noticed recently I can't ride nearly as much as I use to be able to, even a few years ago.
jlopez
It takes longer to walk back there than the actual ride itself.
Beast1979
It takes longer to go up the lift hill then the actual ride itself.
jdawg1998
Let's sum it all up. The time it takes to get ready for the ride is longer than the ride itself!
The Interpreter
And that can be part of its charm..or a reason some just skip it....
MagnumFan
It takes longer to get from the last block back into the station than the ride itself. Just saying. You get plenty of time to memorize where every ladder, extension cord, and rust spot is on that area of the ride...
jlopez
It takes longer to load guest than the time it takes to ride...
coasterfreak22108
It took me longer to write this then it did to ride.
Dalefan
See King Cobra? (I am NOT saying Flight Deck is to soon suffer the same fate, but King Cobra got a nice new paint job, was put up for sale, got no acceptable offers, and was demolished. The last time i looked, the trains for King Cobra are sitting in the Flight of Fear building.
Gordon Bombay
^Not sure how you're looking in the complete darkness while doing inversions at 54 mph, but a few seasons back the trains were sitting in the parking lot and the park explained that they were being shipped to another park for spare parts. It takes longer to read this thread and shake your head than it does to ride Flight Deck.
