Just wanted to make everyone aware, don't get lulled to sleep like I did. 100s of visits no issues, today some jerk stole our bag with my keys, credit card, license, passes, etc....had my phone in my shoe or they would have got it too.

So tomorrow I have to go about replacing all that in addition to already canceling my card. Fortunately had phone to call to have spare car key brought over. I always viewed lockers as a hassle, but I won't anymore.

Oh that sucks! But it's happened to people on here too! Keep everything of value in your car or a locker!

Did you inform security and file a police report with the Mason PD?

But, while at Cedar Point I have witnessed people put souvenir cups on top the lockers or near a sign, or somewhere that would be safe for their stuff, and employees come by and throw them away. I don't really see how that's fair at all and it really ****ed me off. I can understand the park not being worried about them, but for them to purposely throw them away is rude

Call Lost and Found tomorrow. I had a similar thing happen to me last year and my bag turned up at Lost and Found the next day. Fortunately I only lost a couple bucks in cash that I had in my wallet (making me think that the thieves were kids/teens looking for a quick buck), but it was definitely not a fun night.

They throw them away because no one is near them and they are trash at that point.

I'm so sorry. I know you feel gutted. There are some miserable people in the world.

The security had me go over to the main gate straight away and get a replacement for my season pass after my things were stolen, hopefully they did the same for you.

This infuriates me. One thing I can't stand is a thief. I know it happens daily throughout the world, but that is my biggest peeve. I go in with as little as possible to the park or any other venue where a lot of people are gathered. It's refreshing when someone honest returns something they found or escorts a lost child to security.

A valuable lesson learned, you can't trust anybody when out in public. Lock your stuff up.

We leave everything in our car. Down to getting our hand stamped so passes aren't needed. We leave 2 towels outside our bag, and leave our bag wide open so any thieving scumbag can see the only thing in there is sunscreen. One car door key in my swimsuit.

Being a decent human being who is respectful of others possessions isn't a requirement to buy a KI ticket or season pass. I wish it was, KI/SC would be much less crowded.

Kings Island has always been my favorite place to go so when some little teenage pricks (I'm a teenager and I don't steal stuff, if I find it, I take it to the lost and found) get a hold of things like a few dollars or my passes I tend to let it go (Passes are easy to replace). But one particular day ****ed me off.

While in line for Vortex I asked on of the ride OPS to put my bag where they can see it. It was my baby sisters first time at KI and I wanted to record somethings. I told the ride OP "Do NOT let anyone take this bag" . When I got back, bag was gone. 200 dollar camera with all of my baby sisters first rides gone (end of the day when this happened) Now it IS my fault that I put a 200 dollar camera in there.

Thank god Wal Mart has understanding and nice people...

I have no doubt the ulterior motive is not money, yet simply removing trash to make the park look clean. The cost of the 1,000,000+ garbage cans in a 100' radius signifies that.

I was never mad at the Ride OP, I was mad at myself for leaving my stuff there. I just knew they wouldn't let me take my bag on the ride. But I was never mad at the OP

This is really not to endorse the park's pricing of the lockers…I really have no idea of how much the prices are or aren't inflated…but I worked at a small roller skating rink on and off 20 some years ago, and even back then, I was utterly stunned when I heard how much the cost to purchase and operate the lockers.

I lock everything in my car even my keys. I have a keypad on the outside of my truck so I enter in the code and I'm in. Too bad they didn't steel your cell phone might have been able to track them.

Well, I ain't gonna play Soak City, that's for sure. If even a pair of sandals gets swiped, it's not worth my time to go, even with all the fancy new expensive lockers.

Thanks for the heads up. I do not keep valuables in my bag, but Google search secure beach bag. Or make one with luggage locks/chain and a decent luggage bag. I would love to see the reaction when somebody trys to walkoff with it and it's attached to the lounge chair. Hopefully someone would notice and notify security.

That's a pretty reasonable solution. It doesn't even have to be anything fancy, maybe a bike lock through the handles and a luggage lock on the zipper. That's more than enough to discourage the opportunistic snatch. There are also many ways to set an alarm on it if you can do some simple electronics work.

Put a push button switch, battery and a panic siren in there. WHen the thief lifts the bag the switch turns on and the siren turns on. I doubt people would bother paying attention to the siren though. I should market that!.

When I go to the waterpark, I have a method to avoid lockers AND keep all my stuff safe. My wallet and car keys go in a waterproof tacklebox that fits in my swimming trunks pockets. I have a glasses strap, so I can wear them on the slides (Which, in addition to keeping them with me, makes the experience much more enjoyable). My box doesn't have room for my phone, so that goes in a ziplock bag in my pocket. Just to be safe, on days when I know I'll be at the waterpark, I swap my sim card into an old Nokia I have lying around (also doubles as a weapon should I get into a confrontation, just throw it at them lol) Anything else stays in the car. I have everything I need with me, and none of my valuables run the risk of theft.

So if you see the "super-cool" guy in Soak City with a glasses strap, talking on an old Nokia phone, say hi, lol.

That's one the reason's why I didn't even chance leaving my stuff laying around last Saturday when every locker was sold out, I just didn't get to swim.

In all fairness, it's difficult to say the locker prices are too high when they sell out, unless the waterpark is seriously underlockered.
